White Monkey Customer Reviews

Green tea from the slopes of the Taimu Mountains in Fujian, China. The delicate, unopened buds appear perfectly white against the young, opened green leaves. Warm colored liquor with a fresh, almost wildflower sweet scent and slightly dry finish.

★★★★★

This green tea has a very nice flavor. It is earthy and somewhat mild. Very good.

★★★★☆

A decent green tea with basic green tea taste. Nothing to shout about

I am not a big fan of green tea in general, but I thought I'd try this one. It is not too grassy and tastes delicious with a little lemon and honey.

★★★☆☆

A tasty tea, clear and crispy. I wouldn't say it's any better than silver needle (my favorite), nor is there a dramatic difference. Still, a nice light flavor.

★★★★☆

Nice tea. Was great with a smidge of honey in it.

★★★☆☆

A little bit disappointing for me after reading the amount of positive reviews. Didn't find there to be much flavour even after trying different times and temps.

★★★☆☆

Very little taste. Too much like drinking a cup of hot water.

★★★★★

I am a huge fan of whites and greens, and this plays both very well.

★★★★★

A great tea! Very floral flavor, especially when compared to the majority of green teas.

★★★★☆

This tea is very light for a green tea. As its name suggests it is actually likely more similar to a white tea in my opinion.

★★★☆☆

this is a bit vegetal for my taste, but i think i am going to try to blend it with some other teas i have ordered...

★★★★★

Really resinous and high quality with a great mouthfeel... good for several infusions

★★★★★

I really like this green tea. It smells and tastes great. Good with a small amount of honey too.

★★★☆☆

A nice smooth green tea, that, true to its name, reminds me of white tea a bit. Not a favorite, but still not bad.

★★★★★

Very bold and woodsy flavor, excellent green tea.

★★★★★

Perfect cup of tea. Delightful to the taste buds.

★★★★★

One delicious monkey. If you do not overs steep, you will end up with a light and refreshing cup.

★★★★★

This is easily my favorite green tea. It gets bitter if steeped longer than 3 minutes, but at 2 minutes (of sub boiling water) the tea is refreshing and slightly sweet.

one of my favorite green's. I like my green tea a little strong and have found this one to have a bite when strong with a peppery flavor to it. Something I have come to enjoy. If you brew it mildly it can have a light flavor, but I find the pepper is stillt there.

★★★★★

My absolute favorite green tea. It's a very light and crisp tea.

★★★☆☆

This tastes more like a green tea than most white teas I've had. Also, be careful not to steep this one for too long. Nothing really special about this one.

★★★★☆

Produced a much thinner and less robust cup than I was expecting, and oversteeping even a touch over recommended led to bitterness. Overall, light, pleasant. Not my favorite.

★★★★★

Honestly its the name that got me with this tea. At first i thought it was misplaced in the green tea section but then found out it was green tea dispite the 'white' in the name. None the less it was very good refreshing tea with a light flavor. I added some fresh raspberries and made some green raspberry tea with this one. you could taste both the tea and the light raspberry flavor

★★★☆☆

Truth by told, White Monkey isn't doing much for me. It's very unassuming, to the point of bland. I'm going to try adding a bit more tea to the strainer, see if I can liven up the little simian.

★★★★☆

A fresh and light tea that is a wonderful balance between a green and white.

★★★★☆

Tastier than a tea-filled monkey's fist, but smells kinda like it

★★★★★

A very very nice green tea. Not the typical grassy flavor of other green teas, but very clean and smooth. A very nice everyday green tea. The 'monkey' teas are really turning into some of my favorites!!

★★★☆☆

Ok, but a little too smokey/toasty for my tastes. Not really what I want in a green.

★★★★☆

Still one of my favorite every day green teas. A nice subtle but distinct flavor.

Funny name, great taste. If monkeys drank tea, this would be their choice. Seriously, I love this tea.

★★★★★

A very subtle and smooth tasting green tea. It has a delicate vegetal flavor reminiscent to me of fresh asparagus. This tea is absolutely wonderful and is one that I could drink everyday.

I was in love with White Peony until I met White Monkey. A cup of White Monkey in the morning is now my preferred way to start the day. Perfection.

★★★★☆

Fantastic flavor, very smooth and light. Be careful not to oversteep it, though, or it can get unpleasantly tangy.

I had white monkey tea before. It was amazing. The smell drew me and said 'drink me'.

★★★★★

Adagio's White Monkey is light and surprisingly sweet. A very distinctly Chinese green tea. It smelled amazing even before it was fully steeped.

★★★★☆

This white is a nice subtle white tea that has a mild but mellow flavor that is very soothing.

★★★★☆

This was a fine tea, but it had a pretty strong vegetal flavor (think seaweed and spinach).

★★★★☆

This is the kind of tea that I could drink every day. It has a light, mellow slightly floral scent and flavor that is very drinkable by itself or with a light dessert.

★★★☆☆

I found this tea to be ok. It is nothing special. It has a slight bitter taste with a strong green tea backbone.

★★★★★

Best green I have ever had, all the good things gunpowder tea has without any of the drawbacks such as bitterness. GREAT!!!

★★★★☆

Very good light green tea, thus making it excellent for evenings. Flavor begins as a sweet edamame and finishes with a light grassiness. Increase temperature (slightly) and steep time for multiple infusions as second cup is noticeably weaker than the first.

Bought this because of the name...White Monkey. It intrigued me. Turns out this is a delicious flavor. I enjoyed the taste. I found it to be mellow, very earthy which is typical of white teas. I'll have to order a bigger bag next time.

This is by far my favorite tea. It is very light and smooth tasting. Very low astringency with the wonderful earthy green tea taste.

I love this tea. Sweet and floral. I just got a sample package of it but I will be getting more in the future! It has certainly moved its way up to being one of my favourites!

★★★☆☆

Sample too small (only 11grams), not enough for the advertised 10 cups. I'm new to green tea in general so I'm probably doing something incorrectly, but I haven't had much luck with this one. 1st cup @2minutes gave me something which reminded me of weak restaurant tea, 2nd cup @3:30minutes gave me a cup which was both weak and bitter at the same time it seemed. 2nd infusions failed with both cup attempts. After two cups I'm virtually done with the sample (using 4g to 8oz of water), 3g left. Sample needs to be bigger if they want a fair review. Gets a 3 for misleading sample size alone. In fact they really ought to have the exact weights for each sample listed, as they seem to vary a great deal.

Excellent plain tea, this is my drink all day tea when I've overdone the flavored tea.

The first batch of white monkey I tried was excellent, however, the latest batch is horrible. I might try it again later but not for a long while.

★★★★★

Loved this one. Reminds me a bit of the rainy days of my youth playing outside near the raspberry bushes, rhubarb plants and cedar trees. I recommend it!

★★★★☆

I like the flavor of this tea, and it has a fruity and earthy taste to it.

★★☆☆☆

The first tea that I tried on Adagio and I was a bit dissappointed. Lacking any real flavor, I found that some lipton's are better. whats that say?
