White Monkey Customer Reviews

Green tea from the slopes of the Taimu Mountains in Fujian, China. The delicate, unopened buds appear perfectly white against the young, opened green leaves. Warm colored liquor with a fresh, almost wildflower sweet scent and slightly dry finish.

Light, slightly sweet, with nice floral/vegetal notes, (jasmine meets kale). With gong fu preparation, this tea is incredible. Still smiling after five infusions. An easy favorite.

it was ok just need to add some sugar, honey and lemon juice to it.

This is a very light green tea. I like it. Not very grassy at all which I don't like with green teas. Very soothing.

★★★★☆

This tea tastes similar to sencha overture but with a less grassy taste. Still very similar.

I LOVE this tea! The best green tea I've had so far. I can't wait till the new shipment arrives later this year so I can buy in a larger quantity than the samples.

This is my go to tea for most every day. I really like the earthy almost tree like balance that swings in and out of the palate. Most monkey's make me a little uncomfortable, but I love the white monkey!

This is my go-to green tea. It's mild and comforting.

★★★★☆

Very smooth and refreshing, doesn't have too much in the way of bitterness, definitely something I'll be drinking more of!

★★★★★

Am really enjoying trying different green teas. White Monkey is growing on me. Smooth and enjoyable.

This is a lovely tea. The first brewing can be a little 'grassy' (but not much, and depending on how well you brew it), but overall it's very light and floral, even a little fruity. Overall very soft, so I prefer to brew it a bit longer for more flavor. It's good at any temperature, and would make a good cold tea for the summer.

Multiple brews come out very well, better than the first, in my opinion. Mellower and more balanced flavor and body, but still with floral notes.

★★★☆☆

This Tea is refreshing in flavor. Good quality cup of tea!

★★★★★

This looks and almost tastes like a white tea, with a naturally sweet quality to it. It's smooth and soft with a little bit of a tang to it. Definitely a treat!

★★★★★

One of my favorite green teas. Sweet and delicate, but not mild. Good for blending with other teas.

★★★★★

Only had a sample for this, but it was great. Will have to get more.

★★★★★

This is a wonderfully smooth, delicate tea. Great flavor and no bitter aftertaste that often happens with greens. Thumbs up!

★★★★☆

This is a very nice dinner of evening tea. Slightly vegetal with no oceanic taste. This tea is very nice just by itself while seated at your computer doing thinking things. A very mild fragrance accents this tea. As with most green teas, no more then two minutes on the steep. And no more then 1 tsp. at a time. I would even recommend starting at an amount of 1/2 tsp. until you have found your teas sweet spot. I am having a cup of this tea as I write this review. As the tea cools to room temperature it is becoming slightly astringent and producing a noticeable dryness in the mouth, so definitely start with only 1/2 tsp...Steve.

This tea has a unique smell and flavor that is different to other green tea that I normally drink. It is very earthy and woody in flavor. Not a lemon grass variation at all. I will definitely be getting this again.

★★★☆☆

Tasted harsh compared to my favorite Silver Needle. I drank 8 oz. and was glad I had it but I won't use it again.

★★★☆☆

This felt like a green tea to me. It was alright but didn't care for it.

Name threw me off. But great green tea. Similar taste to Gunpowder. Just not as strong

★★★★☆

Mildly sweet, a little bit of vegetal and alfalfa notes. Really wish it had more oomph. It's mild and a little bland compared to other greens.

★★★★★

I bought this because Adagio was out of Green Needle. It's similar so it will do until they get more in. :( LOOKS LIKE ACTUAL MONKY PAWS and it's hard to measure a teaspoon...

★★★★★

I was sick and in the mood for something warm, but yet not too strong. So I made myself a glass of this and it tasted amazing, it warmed me up and made me feel good. I have tried it since I have gotten better and it taste just as good and gives me that same amazing feeling. This is definitely one of my new favorites.

★★★★☆

This was a good green tea. I can't recall the flavor too well (I guess that doesn't help much), but I do know that I enjoyed the savoriness.

★★☆☆☆

This is the first green tea I do not like. It is very bitter and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It is what I would think a bad perfume would taste like. Will not buy again.

★★★★☆

I keep coming back to this tea. This is a solid green that has yet to disappoint.

★★★★★

Light and refreshing with a grassy finish. Wonderful afternoon tea.

This tea is nice and light with a floral sweetness.

★★★★☆

A nice green tea. It's very light in color and has a slightly floral/fruity taste. Not grassy at all.

★★★★★

I really liked this one--mild but flavorful. Will definitely get it again.

★★★★★

Do yourself a favor and leave the sugar out of this. this tea has such a subtle, gentle flavor that sugar just washes it out and leaves a sugar water-y flavor. Grassy, buttery flavor that's gentle and easy to drink. For those that like tea that doesn't need sugar, this is your tea.

★★★★★

This was a GORGEOUS cup of green tea! I loved the grassiness of the first taste to the warm, nutty aftertaste. I LOVE this one and will be ordering some more soon!

I'm a huge fan of green teas. however, this isn't my favorite. In my opinion, it lacks flavor and body, and just falls kinda flat on the palate. That said, it's certainly not the worst green tea I've ever tried.

What an excellent cup of tea.

★★★★☆

A mild, light green tea. It is a high volume tea, the leaves take up a lot of space in the bag, and the directions call for a heaping teaspoon. It has fruity notes, but is mainly nutty. It's a dry, crisp fresh flavor, not quite as toasted as hojicha, but distinctly not a grassy green. A nice flavor to try to expand my green tea tasting skills.

★★★★☆

Very light in color and taste, this tea is floral and plush in a cup. Definitely add a bit more than directed for steeping.

★★★★☆

Great green tea. Very fluffy curled leaves. The 8oz bag is A LOT of tea! Great flavor, but the first cup is definitely the best. When I re-steep the leaves 3-5 times, the flavor is never as good as the first cup, but the first cup provides a great nutiness, light golden cup and a satisfying pungent aroma.

Imagine plucking honeysuckle blossoms and boiling them in unicorn tears. Done imagining that? Well white monkey is infinitely more tasty than that ever can be.

★★★★★

Sweet aroma makes you think it might be closer to a white tea after all but there is a subtle vegetal flavor to remind you it is green. Excellent

★★★★☆

I find I like silver needle better. White monkey is a bit too grassy for me. But it's good, all the same.

★★★★★

I love this tea. Especially when I've been feeling under the weather with a squeeze of citrus and honey

Such lovely color

I love this tea! So delicate and light! I brew this at 160 for 3.5 mins.

★★★★★

This was a wonderful green tea. I was a little skeptical at first because the tea's color was light after the 2 minute steeping time. I gave it a taste and was surprised at the amount of flavor. I guess that why they call it white monkey cause the tea it very light colored. The taste was great and had honey notes to it and gave there was beautiful flora smell. No sugar needed. I had 2 cups back to back and the flavor was still great on it's second steeping. If you like green tea you will love this soft gentle tea. It's soothing and relaxing. I had it right before bed... then drifted off to sleep. I would definitely order this again.

While silver needle is still my favorite white tea, white monkey was an excellent hearty white tea.

★★★☆☆

White teas are normally lighter in taste than the greens and especially the black teas and that's the case with white monkey. It was barely there so it would go well with another tea if you wanted to mix it in. Drinking it by itself to me just tasted like sugar/water but it's a delicious tea.

A nice everyday green tea. Not especially bitter or vegetal, but not particularly flavorful, either. Fantastic when you just want a light cup.
