White Monkey Customer Reviews

Green tea from the slopes of the Taimu Mountains in Fujian, China. The delicate, unopened buds appear perfectly white against the young, opened green leaves. Warm colored liquor with a fresh, almost wildflower sweet scent and slightly dry finish.

★★★★★

The best tea mixed with green tea. A perfect cup.

★★★☆☆

=_=This one I couldn't handle at all I felt bad because eventually I had to pour the rest of it out. Pallette didn't like it I could tell where it came into play the old Prince blend. I think it's fine blended with other things.

★★★★★

This tea has aromatic notes of pear and a sweet finish. Great tea.

★★★★☆

Very nice delicate, slightly sweet flavor and a very attractive appearance.

★★★★★

I was really surprised by how great this tea tasted! I've looked at it a number of times-but always pulled it out of my cart last minute. So glad I finally tried it. It has a lovely aroma, floral and fruity. It's a nice green tea flavor at first, with a hint of smoke. Then the jammy fruit hits you, finishing with a note of honey- really remarkable. A new favorite.

LOVE IT LOVE IT! This is my go to tea when I just want a light tea without a lot of extra stuff

★★★☆☆

Not one of my favorite white teas. It is missing character and has a somewhat murky flavor.

★★★☆☆

This tea was not too memorable, despite the high hopes I had for it.

★★★★★

Tasty green tea, even though the name makes it seem like it's a white tea. :P

★★★★★

My favorite green tea! I can't decide if gold or white is better, and they mix together wonderfully!

★★★★★

This is my daily go to cup. My favorite of the green teas

★★★★★

If you like green teas, then this is a must try for any aficionado.

★★★★★

One of my favorite green teas. I am mainly a black tea drinker and only drink green teas occasionally. This one has a very pleasant taste so I ordered it for a friend who also said it was very good.

★★★★★

I ordered a sample of this tea and it arrived today. I drink a lot of black tea and am trying to get into green and white teas and well. This tea was a great introduction! It is subtly sweet and almost fruity or floral, but it still tastes primarily like tea. The leaves are huge, too! I love this tea and will definitely order it again.

★★★★★

New favorite. Not as grassy as others. Definitely sweet, mellow and light.

This is a green tea that smells a lot like spinache, it tastes a little like it, too. Don't be afraid, though, it's not overpowering. If you like green tea, then you'll like this tea, too. It's a pretty standard green.

★★★★★

A great and slightly floral-sweet tea. Delicious mixed with a good fruity herbal as well. I suggest letting it steep for a bit longer as the flavor can be a bit on the weak side.

★★★★☆

Very good for experienced tea drinkers who know a lot about tea mixes.

★★★★☆

Very good green tea. Smooth taste with a clean dry finish. Just the right amount of vegital taste without being overpowering. Refreshing.

I discovered this tea in a green tea sample box (also highly recommended for new tea drinkers) and after the first cup I had a new all-time favorite tea. This tea tastes best when steeped at a relatively lower temperature for 2-3 minutes, and I prefer to use about about a tablespoon for 12 oz. Like any green tea, this takes a few batches to really understand what tastes the best, but I found it far more forgiving than other green teas.
Flavors:
Clean, mellow base with slightly grassy and sweet honey aftertaste. I'd even say a very slight artichoke taste (which to me seems unpleasant), but it really doesn't affect the general experience all that much.

Over all a very delicious green tea. One of the best unflavored green teas I've had. very unique.

Very mild sweet green tea. No bitterness or vegetable taste here! More flower like. One of the better green teas!

★☆☆☆☆

Just...not good. I followed the time/temp directions and it still tasted like hard water.

★★★★☆

Very mild green-tea with floral undertones. I thought it was very smooth. This tea mixes well with black teas too.

This is my favorite tea, and the main reason I order from Adagio, since no one else seems to have it. I usually steep more of the tea than recommended, but for a shorter time. If you do it right, the taste will be subtly sweet and not tannic at all.

★★★★★

I got this tea awhile ago, perhaps about two years ago, and ran out a few months ago. I just got my order of this year's batch, and it seems to be a little different (Note: it has been awhile since I last had white monkey and the tea leaves themselves were somewhat old). To me this tea tastes very smoky, to the point where I question whether something is on fire in the room. It's a pleasant taste, though. it's kind of reminiscent of coffee. It leaves my mouth feeling clean and maybe slightly dry. This used to be my favorite green, but now I've got some I like more. The few teas that I prefer, however, are about twice the price. So, this tea remains a staple.

★★★★★

Either this or the Green Pekoe are my favorite greens here, this one seems to do very well at a slightly lower temperature and longer steep time than it says on the packet.

★★★★☆

this tea is nice and light, but it does have a bit of a grassy taste so if you don't enjoy that, I would choose a more neutral flavored tea

★★★★☆

A smooth and mild tasting green tea with the smell of honey that don't over power your taste buds.

I prefer green to white tea, and this one, despite its name, has the body of a good green tea.

★★★★★

this comes in as a second to golden Monkey, but it has a milder taste, so taste buds need adjusting .

★★★★☆

A white tea look with a hint of green tea taste. Fresh with a clean aftertaste.

★★★★☆

This tea is good, it is also unique just like all other teas.

★★★★☆

The tea is so light and delicate with an airy finish. It stands in the fence between green and white tea.

★★★★☆

Very mellow. I loved this tea. It was not what i expected. I it one of teh best sampler teas i have tried.

★★★★★

Very light green tea. I love it! I'll definitely buy it again.

★★★★★

I'd been looking for a nice, smooth, delicate green tea, and the search is over! Definitely a new favorite. Not overly floral, which is great for a person usually turned off by the perfuminess of a jasmine green.

★★★★★

As someone who can't stand the 'grassy' taste in green teas, I love this!

★★★☆☆

This is not a bad green tea but the flavor is a bit smokey for my liking. If there's other flavor there it's overshadowed by the BBQ taste. I wouldn't recommend it as an everyday tea unless you're favorite is gunpowder.

★★★★☆

This tea has a nice butterness to the tea, if you like dragonwell teas, this would be enjoyed.

★★☆☆☆

This is one of those 'earthy' teas that ends up tasting like cardboard to me. It's good in blends but not something I would drink on its own.

★★★★★

It has a earthy, green aroma kind of like mustard greens or kale and the flavor is the same. It's not grassy but more like greens. It even has a slight smokiness to it. This is definitely a favorite.

★★★★☆

It calls for a heaping teaspoon, at that rate it was strong a little too strong to me.I kept adding water till I reached a nice flavor.Strong earthy taste. Even when it was strong it wasnt bitter. I would say for me I will just use a teaspoon .

This was my first loose leaf plain green tea. Not bad! It has a mild taste and although it doesn't smell bad, it is a scent I'd have to get use to. Perhaps it is just the grassy smell/taste people talk about when referring to green tea.

★★★★★

This tea is amazing. Its got this smokiness to it but its a lot lighter than gunpowder, which also has a smokiness.

★★★★☆

A subtle, mild tea that is perfect for cozy evenings

★★★★★

One of my favorite greens. Does not need anything added. My only complaint is that its out of stock now.

★★★★★

Wow! I love the white monkey tea even better than the golden monkey. It's light, fresh, not grassy at all. With a nice sweetness to it. I highly recommend this tea. It's much better than any green tea on the market
