The smell was rather off putting at first and I was not sure how much I was going to enjoy this tea, but then I took a sip. It tasted absolutely wonderful. Somehow it reminded me of honeysuckles, I guess because of the floral aspect of the tea plus a bit of a honey taste to it. I highly recommend this tea.

This is perhaps my favorite green tea. I would have it almost every morning. Such a light, lovely flavor. Will definitely be getting more in the future.

This is a pretty solid green tea, and, compared to the high-priced teas, holds up well against them.

I got this as a free sample from Adagio, but once the bag is finished I will not be ordering more. There was a taste I can't quite describe that I did not like. The leaves look beautiful as they unfurl in the water, but the taste is just not for me. This is not a tea for sweetener, either. It might work better in a blend, maybe with a fruit-flavored white or herbal tea.

Great tea, very interesting flavors and long lasting
★★★★★
Soft, somewhat sweet flavor with little in the way of earthy tones.
★★★☆☆
Fresh, grassy green tea. I have been on a flavored tea kick lately, so maybe I was unprepared for the true taste of green tea. It was slightly bitter and very earthy. Not one of my favorites, but not horrible.
★★★★★
This is a very smooth and delicate tea. I generally stray away from teas like this, but I ended up rather enjoying it and I will likely order similar teas in the future.
★★★★☆
It has the distinct taste of your typical Chinese green tea, which is fine, and pleasant. No a bad tea, and could go for another cup.
★★★★★
Nice buttery green-white tea hybrid, doesn't seem to have too much caffiene so it's nice for the late afternoon. Very easy drinking, would be a great indroduction for someone not already famailiar with greens.

I received this tea as a free sample. I usually prefer white tea as it tastes more mild and less bitter than green tea. But white monkey was a nice suprise. It tastes fresh and has a slightly deeper flavor than my usual go-to, white silver needle. I use the same leaves to make 3 or 4 cups of tea too! I definitely will be buying some in the future!

A very interesting flavor. It doesn't taste like any white or green tea I've ever tasted.
★★★★☆
this tea was pretty good, kinda reminded me of white peony.
★★★★☆
Fairly mild tea, good iced and doesn't need sweetened to enjoy!
★★★★★
This is a great tea for the ones that really don't like the veggie tasting greens.
★★★★★
Just tried this for the first time. Great alternate to my normal anji duet.
★★★☆☆
Light and a bit smoky for my taste, but definitely drinkable - not at all grassy or with any of the more unpleasant things I associate with some of the other green teas like kuchika. Definitely one of the lighter cups of green. It's just okay - I prefer gunpowder or spiced green if I'm going to drink a green tea - but it's definitely drinkable.

A subtle tea that has a quiet, but wise flavor. Do not over steep!
★★★★★
Lovely flavor, smooth and clean, especially on the second steeping. Soft like Sleeping Dragon, too. It's almost as light as white tea, but the flavor is a little more robust yet less grassy, and smoky like Gunpowder. Perfect for later in the day.

Love this tea! It's so yummy! Flavor is quite delicate and I particularly like it iced, but it's great anyway you make it.
★★★★★
Light enough that it's not bitter or grassy tasting, but strong enough that it doesn't get drowned out when sugar is added (I have one heck of a sweet tooth, so that's important for me. Has a lovely floral fragrance.
★★★★☆
I blend this tea with some of my black teas to add a little interest to the flavor. It's perfect for blending, or on its own. Nice mellow taste.
★★★★★
i must admit that when i first smelled the tea, its aroma was unexpectedly earthy. however, that essence diminishes upon steeping, which is not necessarily a bad thing. white monkey is a light but warm tea, with earthy undertones. i found it helped to overbrew it, as it isn't overly strong. however, white monkey tea left me impressed and wanting another cup.

This is a good middle of the road green tea, very nice and mellow. There isn't much in the way of flavor profile. It would make for a great tea for someone who is new to green tea.

Tastes about like it is advertised. Very smooth for a green tea, with barely the grassy taste of most green teas. Very nice early evening tea while watching the sun set over the Tetons.
★★★★★
The tea itself is wonderful and light, reminding me more of a green oolong or white tea than a green tea. The soft sweetness is more aromatic than a usual cup of white tea, and I was reminded of White Peony. A bit mild for my usual consumption, the tea was a pleasant change of pace for the sample pack that I tried. A very nice and soft cup of tea for those interested in less bracing brews.

This is one of my favorite green teas! I absolutely LOVE it!
The taste is very complex. The predominant flavor is floral, but I also detected hints of butter and fresh hay. It's not an especially grassy green tea, but the grassiness certainly isn't missing altogether, either.
Don't be fooled by this tea's low price. It truly is a top-tier tea.
My suggestion for brewing: Use a gaiwan with water at 165* F. I always just eyeball the amount of leaves, but I'd guess I use around 1.5-2 heaping teaspoons. First briefly rinse the leaves, then do a first infusion for about 25 seconds, second infusion for about the same amount of time, then third at 45 seconds, and then keep increasing from there.

I brewed this to be quite mild, which I recommend. It has a flavor which might be quite overpowering if brewed too strong. Otherwise, quite a smooth, almost buttery taste with a natural, woody flavor on the back of the tongue. UPDATE: really nice with a splash of lemon juice!
★★★★☆
Not bad at all, had a light, clean taste. I did find that 2 minutes wasn't long enough, 3 was definitely better.

One of the better green teas I've tried. Soft feel, kinda reminds me of yunnaan gold. Prefer this in blends, though.
★★★★★
Not too bad. It tastes like a less oxidized version of the golden monkey black tea.

This is a wonderful tea to have around. Great flavor w/o being too strong or pungent. Would blend well with other teas but is stunning on its own.
★★★★☆
This light green tea is gentle in flavor with grassy vegetal notes and a subtle sweetness. The mouthfeel is particularly rich giving a very savory impression with a nice clean finish.

I ordered this one on a whim, so I knew nothing about it before buying. But I was happy to find that I really liked it. Very mellow, smooth flavor. I added a bit more than 1 tsp for a cup of tea and was pleased with the result. I resteeped the leaves one time so far and the second steeping was good too.

This is a very delicate and subtle tea, sweet-floral with typical green tea vegetality, fairly smooth and without much astringency. The flavor isn't at all complex, but enjoyable enough.

This has a very mild flavor, a bit too mild for my taste.
★★★★★
An excellent green tea. Delicate sweetness, minimal astringency. Infused 4g in 8oz four times with good flavor. The fifth infusion was one too many.

This is my go to tea each morning. It's just beautiful!!!

Love this tea. One of my new favorites. Great light green vegetal taste-perfect for afternoons.

White monkey reminds me of Gunpowder, but with a lighter taste. Very smooth and great for late nights.

This is one of the few plain greens I'd love to just keep in my cupboard. A little honey in my cup and this one's good to go!

This tea was a nice plain green tea. It's not as interesting flavor to me as some of the other plain greens (gunpowder for instance), but it's relaxing and nice if you don't want too strong of a flavor.

Kind of straddling the line between a white and a green, I've been using this to make iced tea combined with some Torani Sugar-Free Peach Syrup. Yum!
★★★★☆
It has a nice light grassy flavor and it tastes wonderful with a bit of honey to sweeten it. I can't drink this tea on it's own without sweetener like I can with a couple of the others, but it's still one I've enjoyed quite a bit. I don't know that I'll order more of it soon, but I'd recommend it.
★★★★★
Very light, low astringency, the vegetal qualities are mellow. Overall, a very pleasant green tea that is very rounded and balanced.
★★★☆☆
Not a tea that I could drink on its own but I shall be trying blending it with others.
★★★★☆
This was a tasty, though pretty mild, tea. It had a vegetal taste. I think the stronger brewed, the better, until a certain point. Too weak is not that good.

a very mellow, but playful tea. it is a decently fragrant tea, and a green tea that strays away from more of the typical grassy ones. Could be in a family with sleeping dragon and gunpowder as they are all reminiscent of each other.
★★★★☆
a delicate green tea, though it seemed a bit too 'grassy' for me. would definitely still buy another bag, though! one of those teas that i would recommend when you want a 'plain' green tea.

This is the first white tea i have tried that i really enjoyed. It does have a slight earthy flavor.
