My first time trying kukicha. And I can definitely say I’ll be purchasing again. I love the fresh grassy flavor; very unique green tea.
A playful steamed green tea from Japan. Kukicha is a blend of leaves and leaf stems. The lightness of the stems becomes a sweet sesame seed or chestnut note. Tender like soft white rice. Balanced and, for a Japanese tea, very low in astringency.

My first time trying kukicha. And I can definitely say I’ll be purchasing again. I love the fresh grassy flavor; very unique green tea.
This tea reminds me why I'm such a fan of green tea in the first place.
Excellent flavored green tea. Has become one of my favorites!
Very nice bright vegetal green. Slightly sweeter than sencha, which is what is used for kukicha, with the addition of the stems. Also cold brewed 10hrs. Crisp, what I think of when imagining 'cold bottled green tea.' Wet leaves smell very umami, like steamed vegetables.
it smells lovely, but i do not care for its flavour
I love Japanese greens like Gyokuro and Sencha. This one reminds me of those but apparently it's made with some different twists. Every cup I made was fresh & light. I'll be buying more.
Very nice Japanese green tea. Not very grassy, a bit savory, and has a little matcha quality too.
Pretty good, but I still prefer Gunpowder. This was alright.
a very nice Japanese green tea. aroma is grassy, but the flavor is balanced and pleasant. It is not weak, strong, or bitter... which makes it a good green in my eyes.
One of my favorite green teas Adagio has. Strong flavor, but light on the palette.
The tea has an interesting nutty taste when boiled properly, which made for a very interesting green tea. You don't want to under steep this tea, nor do you want the water to be too hot, because you won't get a strong flavor if you do.
This tastes much better than it smells. When I first smelled this brewed I wasn’t sure if I would like it but it’s taste is very light, mild and refreshing.
A lovely, sweet green when iced. Havent tried it hot
Grassy flavor up front, but I think it s missing some of the buttery savoriness of other kukicha teas I ve tried. Not bad, but not all I d hoped for.
I ve a thing for grassy teas, and especially lattes made from said grassy teas. That being said, this was a bit more grassier than what I m used to. I m hoping that I ll get used to it as time goes on, but right now, it s a bit much for me. I m not knocking it though, it s still very tasty, especially as a latte.
Leaves are vibrant green. A two minute steep produces a golden tea w/ green tinge. Smells malty w/ some vegetal, grass, & floral tones. Mild grassy flavor w/ rounded nutty butter fruit finish. Very, very interesting & fun. I generally dislike vegetal greens, but this one is very mild, and the finish makes it delicious.
This is the bounciest green tea Ive had, very delicate taste
I was looking for a good Japanese green tea to add to my collection and this one suits me perfectly. From the look to the taste, everything about this tea is green.
This is a great mild tea. the flavor is a little nutty.
The flavor profile isn't as different from sencha as I was expecting. It does have a nice, woody bite to it. Highly recommended as an introduction to Japanese green teas.
really good and grassy tasting (in a good way). i really enjoyed this one
Always a favorite of mine, kukicha has a strong leafy taste . The key to keeping the flavor smooth and bitterless is low brewing temperature.
Purchased for my friend who absolutely LOVES this tea. Slightly dry, strong but still light. An enjoyable, hearty green tea.
This tea is super green tasting, not unlike grass, but that's a good thing! If you don't over-steep it, there's no bitterness to this tea at all. It's a strong flavor, for sure, but there's a natural sweetness to it. If your into intense green teas, definitely give this a shot! One of my favorite green teas I've ever had.
Unfortunately I was not a fan of this one. The main problem for me is that it's impossible to get the right steeping time/temperature. It was either bland or super bitter and unpleasant with no in-between. I liked their Sencha Overture tea much better.
This is a very nice green tea, with a bold yet delicate flavor. Somewhere between the more traditional sencha and a matcha, as the stems result in a small amount of fine green tea powder that settles at the bottom of your cup. I prefer a slightly stronger cup of tea, so I brewed this for an extra minute, and was very pleased with the results. And it was not bitter ever after brewing the same batch a second time, which is even better! Also makes an excellent iced tea if you steep it for longer and let it cool before pouring over ice. I would definitely recommend this tea to my friends, family, and fellow tea lovers!
I am pleasantly surprised at the delicate quality of the tea. Chestnut, light grass, wonderful finish. Needs absolutely nothing added, although I add lemon when I drink it first thing in the morning.
This green tea had a strange taste in my opinion, almost like a weedy taste. Definately not a favorite.
Classic Kukicha - great great great. Light flavor, light color. perfect for spring or summer mornings.
EXCELLENT as a kombucha-base tea. Fragrant and light.
My dad loves this and a few others I send to him. It is on autoship.
Liked it a lot, had a lovely robust, sesame flavor, very buttery, was excellent even after using the tea for multiple brews
This tea has wonderful fruity notes, and is lightly sweet. Perfect tea for relaxing on a slow Saturday morning. I m looking to replace my morning coffee, and this tea is a high contender!!
I've never had this kind of tea before, nor did I know it existed. The flavor is kind of spinachy and brothy, but not bitter. It's rich and hydrating. I didn't know I needed this tea until I tried it. Love it.
Good green tea without much grassiness. Gets unpleasant if steeped too long.
Very special taste. Blend of leaves and stems. It has a grassy and nutty taste that I enjoy very much Would recommend
Nice fresh flavor, easy to drink. Reminds me of rye
One of my go-to favorites when I want a super fragrant green tea.
I was a bit wary before trying this tea since some of the reviews mentioned it being quite grassy and an acquired taste. However, I did not find this tea to be difficult to drink at all!! I loved the combination of the nuttiness and the grassy tones. One of my favorite green teas for sure.
I'm normally an oolong or jasmine sort of person, but this is perfect for when I need something a little more grassy. Definitely my new favorite green tea.
One of my favorite teas when digestive system doesn't feel quite right.
We purchased this to go with a few other teas to make our own blend of herb tea to sell to customers.
One of the best green teas I've had. Very light and grassy.
First time I tried twig tea and I must say it is absolutely delicious.
I'll definitely be drinking more of this.
I recommend not over brewing this though as it can become too tart. A perfect time for me was 2 minutes at 175 F. It had a slight tart and was very tasteful.
I love drinking this iced. I use it in a blend with lemony herbs and it gives it a green and slightly nutty flavor.
This isn't a horrible tea by any means, but I do have to use the old saying and proclaim that, 'this ain't my cup of tea.' This is my second go around with it, and it's been probably 8 years since the first. So maybe I'll try it again in a few years and have a different opinion. I'd definitely recommend trying it, as I would pretty much any tea, because it's always worth it to experience the realm of tea in all of it's reaches.
I was totally surprised with this tea. The tea is made with the stems also so I thought it would be grassy or woody tasting, but is was not at all. This is good flavored tea that has some sweetness to it, I haven't liked the green teas I have tried so far much, but this one now has me wanting to try some more of the Japanese greens.
This tea tastes like spinach from a can. I don't hate spinach from a can, but it's not what I was expecting. One of these days I'm really hoping to find a new grassy green tea.
Mild, fresh, vegetable flavor. Great every day tea.
One of my favorites! It has all the character of a Japanese green tea with no dryness at the end. I like it because it steeps well three times, tastes slightly sweet, and boasts no astringent mouthfeel. It's a soothing and mellow green tea that's perfect for dessert!
