Had to have this tea also as it was recommended by my sister a avid tea drinker.
A playful steamed green tea from Japan. Kukicha is a blend of leaves and leaf stems. The lightness of the stems becomes a sweet sesame seed or chestnut note. Tender like soft white rice. Balanced and, for a Japanese tea, very low in astringency.

this is one of my favorites, I have reordered this at least 3 times.
The first Japanese tea I've tired, on a friend's recomendation. Very refressing and uplifting, not too grassy or bitter like other greens I've had. Some interesting things happen with just minor changes in the way it's prepared...if you brew it just a little stronger than normal it brings out a fruity acidity. If you add just a *tiny* bit of honey (like, put a few drops in the bottom of the cup and swirl, don't stir!), it makes the chestnutty notes really pop.
Seems odd, but it works. Has a nice, sharp, green, and yes, I suppose a bit grassy taste, but in a good way.
I hate the smell of this...just like grass. The taste was actually good, but I can't get past the smell. As I go to sip it I smell it and it just turns me off.
This was a nice tea with more of a vegtable flavor than the other green teas I've had.
Pleasantly grassy and light. I liked this better than I had anticipated
Liked this one as much as sencha and really liked the price !
Very grassy quality and light brew. This was my first non-teabag green tea, so I was surprised how light it turned out. Not a bad taste, either. Very clean flavor.
I love the twigs. They give the lovely 'green' flavor an enjoyable woody undertone. Will definitely order again.
I like this one in the morning, it has a light taste. Very refreshing.
Probably one of the better green teas I've tried before. not a giant fan, but I'd recommend it.
Nice grassy taste. Not one of my favorites but good enough to purchase again!
Kukicha is amazing. A nice light green tea with a subtle sweetness.
I like green tea, thought I'd give this one a try - I'm glad I did. It has a very fresh flavor to it. It tastes very 'green' and that's what I like about it. The 'twigs' give it the extra character to separate from all the other green teas.
Pleasant. Makes a good cup of tea and holds up well with multiple steeps.
its a little to strong for me i wont be getting it again
I love the flavor of this tea. It screams green. Reminds me of teas I've had in Japanese restaurants. Great for when you're in the mood for a green tea.
I did not like this at all. It is very earthy and tasted like old shoes to me.
This one suprised me. Funny looking with green and white stems. But wonderful flavor and excellent as an iced tea. One to re-order!
I wanted to try Kukicha because it sounded interesting, I mean come on tea with twigs, doesn't that sound different? To me I didn't see much of a difference if anything it tasted a bit weak compared to some of my normal green teas like White Monkey.
This is an excellent Kukicha. It is nice with a little sweetness.
This is a green tea which has a really nice earthy flavor. It's not for everyone, but I rather like it. (It also amused me to be drinking tea that looks like sticks.)
A wonderful green tea - light and airy. If you like Japanese greens you'll love this.
Personally it was too smoky and a little too grassy. Still good quality, but not my cup of tea.
Not a bad tea to mix things up, and its unique look will get some attention.
Very grassy green tea. It's funny how the twings can enhance the flavor. I think I like it more as a sample than anyhing bigger.
This a good tea that has a nice light flavor. It is good hot and cold.
This is an awesome tea! The tea is on my favorite list. There is only one green tea I like better, moonlight gyokuro. BUT this tea is much cheaper so it gets drunk more often. The plus side of things is that it tastes GREAT!!
Twigs, eh? Woohoo! Tastes pretty dang good to me. I had to try it out and now I'm glad I did. Will continue to drink this stuff like a mad-man.
This is a real winner in my book; I had it from a sampler and just HAD to order a bigger tin.
it tasted too strong for me, too bitter. The taste was great and not too strong. It made great iced tea and you cannot go wrong witht his one at all
Most bang for the Japanese green tea buck, in my opinion, though I still buy the damn sencha premier too.
The twigs in this tea give it a bit of a different taste. It seemed slightly sweet. I like other greens better, but it's good.
This is totally worth a try. It has a nice herbaceous quality and doesn't get too bitter when over-steeped.
Very good flavor. Definitely has a distinct flavor. I am actually drinking a cup while I am writing this review.
this is just as good, if not better, as a much much more expencive tea i bougt elsewhere. almost smells like hay or grass, but hotdamn thats a tasty green!
hard to describe the taste of this tea--like a sencha, but lighter. a fun tea infusion to watch. great for a change.
This has become my daily tea. Just something a little different... definitely one of my favorites.
I am a huge fan of kukicha and this tea was very good. It wasn't too strong. It was smooth and delious.
I loved the idea of twig tea--to try something new. This was a nice medium bodied tea--pretty smooth and not overly vegetal. I didn't feel the twigs changed the flavor of the tea very much, but still found it enjoyable.
I love this green tea. I am so surprised, because I usually like the expersive teas, but in this case, I sure went for the cheapie. This tastes very 'fresh' to me with a nice balance, and no bitterness.
I did not like this very much. It just doesn't taste like any other green tea I've had.
Twigs and stems. Despite how that might sound, the tea's pretty yummy, though I think I prefer the taste of a few other green teas to this one.
This tea was okay. I was very intrigued by the idea of twigs mixed in with the tea, and it was indeed interesting, but I think I prefer other green teas to this. Tasted of spinach/chestnuts (?).
This is a good, basic japanese green tea. I enjoyed it, but there are more interesting green teas out there.
Light, good every day tea. Easier to brew than some other greens I've tried.
Well, I love kukicha, and this is no exception. Fresh, light, and definitely 'twiggy.'
A good basic green tea. Nothing too fancy. A little grassy and slightly sweeter than most green teas.
A good green. Grassier, heartier somehow. I just got a sample but I think I'm going to add it to my green stable.
