This green tea's grassy quality is sweetened by the addition of small stems. Smells lighter than a normal Japanese green. A semi-sweet, stimulating tea. Try the sampler to begin.
A playful steamed green tea from Japan. Kukicha is a blend of leaves and leaf stems. The lightness of the stems becomes a sweet sesame seed or chestnut note. Tender like soft white rice. Balanced and, for a Japanese tea, very low in astringency.

A good tea that is rather different, however,it has interesting undertones and is worth a try.
A good green, but there's nothing outstanding about it. The twigs didn't seem to make much of a difference for me. I like it, but I should probably sample some of the other Japanese greens to compare them. Good iced.
Light and with a taste that can take some getting used to, but great once you've acquired the taste.
Great inexpensive green tea. A little sweet, not too subtle, a little vegetal, or grassy. A great standard to have on hand.
A delicious tea for every day. The flavor is not as unique as I expected, but it is a very solid combination of crisp and nutty.
This tea is ok. The flavor is very fresh, not too heavy. Not one of my favorites.
What an interesting vegetal smell - sometimes almost like melon, other times more like a grassy meadow. The taste for me is rather astringent, very clean with a bit of a pucker to it. Part of my enjoyment of tea is watching the leaves brew and the twigs in this tea add a new dimension.
I love the earthy tones that the stems add to this tea, its really got a nice nutty flavor thats complex and soothing.
I liked this one a lot, but it didn't impress me like some of the others did.
One of my favorite teas. It's very grassy and mellow. It doesn't have as much caffeine as black tea which is a plus, because I don't react well to caffeine.
A light, sweet, pleasant tea. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but it seems to lack a good mouthfeel, and especially lacked the long pleasant aftertaste of a good sencha. Definately 'twiggy', but in a good way. Nice price.
This is a really unusual green tea. The twiggy bits lend a distinct, unique flavor to yummy Japanese green tea. Good afternoon tea.
I perceived this tea to be a lite green with a distinctive taste and smell that is noticeable but not overpowering. I cant pinpoint the difference in taste or smell, but it was a very nice and relaxing devation.
odd taste not a kind of tea i usually like yeat i thought the twigs in it gave the tea a good kick of flavor.
Reminds me of a freshy cut alphalfa field. Very interesting, but maybe an acquired taste.
excellent green, very smooth and light with distinctive japanese taste
Wonderful kukicha. Earthy, warm taste and smell that reminds me of rainy forests. Great everyday tea.
Nice tea with a pleasant, light, slightly grassy flavor.
The smell is awful. It makes it very difficult to drink.
I have read a lot of reviews of this tea that praise it excessively. Basically, it is sencha with sticks. It was nice to try it simply for the sake of trying something new, but I will not order it again. When you buy a pound of kukicha you get a half-pound of tea and a half-pound of twigs. I would rather buy a pound of tea and leave the twigs on the bush as they really do little for flavor.
There is nothing special about this tea. It has roughly the same taste as the sencha, but is a little lighter overall. I don't like the pale yellow color so much, and I'd say you're better served by trying one of the other green teas that has a little more taste to it.
This is a good 'poor man's' Japanese green tea. I drink it every day at work.
A nice smooth green tea. It is not bitter at all and brews really smooth. I will defenitely buy more of this one. Delicious and healthy.
I enjoyed the sample thoroughly and will order the larger size. A very simple yet delicious tea.
The first thing I noticed about this tea was its strange aroma. It almost reminded me of summer squash! I enjoyed this brisk tea very much and would recomend it to anyone!
I really enjoyed this delicious tea. It's good both hot or cold.
I had a cup of kukicha at a local vegan restaurant and thought this was it, but it wasn't! It's still good, though. The one that I had seems to be a roasted kukicha, which had a little sweet taste. I hope that becomes available soon!
Best green tea I have ever tried. Smells and tastes great.
This is a light and enjoyable tea, not overly vegetal for a green. Nice for evening drinking.
I thoroughly enjoyed this sample. I was suprised that I liked it as much as I did!
I love this tea, its very refreshing, grassy and perfecly sweet.
This tea was fine, but it was not as flavorful as the Sencha. I won't reorder this one.
Very clean and simple. An elegant and refreshing green tea.
Nice tea, basic undertones. I will try it again steeped a little longer to see if it gets bitter
interesting tea.. nice flavor, but not one that I would drink on a regular basis
This is a great green tea; earthy tasting, mellow...very nice! This is a tea that I will buy again many times.
A very fine mix of tasty Japanese green tea and small tea twigs - nice and fresh.
Relatively neutral in taste, pleasantly colored. Not bitter at all.
Great tea. Good flavor, color and can be re-used a couple times. Don't be alarmed by the twigs!
The kukicha sample was surprisingly tasteful given that there are twigs thrown in. It's really a nice tea!
very grassy, very vegetal, i found this to be a great everyday green tea. i think all green tea drinkers should give this a go.
