A big fan of this tea, brews a delightful cloudy, bright green. Toasty undertones and no bitterness if not oversteeped.
A playful steamed green tea from Japan. Kukicha is a blend of leaves and leaf stems. The lightness of the stems becomes a sweet sesame seed or chestnut note. Tender like soft white rice. Balanced and, for a Japanese tea, very low in astringency.

A big fan of this tea, brews a delightful cloudy, bright green. Toasty undertones and no bitterness if not oversteeped.
This is a light but flavorful green tea. It has a lovely grassy smell and slight grassy taste, which I enjoy.
Delicious and ideal for it's price. Easily over steeped
Grassy chestnuts, reminiscent of matcha. Great green tea for someone who likes that earthy flavour, I wouldn't call it mild.
was kinda vegetable tasting. wasn't that crazy about it and doubt I will get it again.
I think I would have preferred a stronger green flavor--this was a bit too delicate for my tastes. It was mildly sweet.
i agree with the others, it has too much of a stick taste to it, probably becuase of the little sticks mixed in with the leaves, it was neat and had a unique flavor but i couldnt get over the straw taste..
Really my first impression of this tea was bad. It smelled and tasted like wet grass. Since I have tried changing how I brew it and it tastes better. Still definitely not a favorite but passable. Don't brew with the water to hot or for too long. This tea is very picky.
The dry tea is bright green. the steeped liquid is a particle-filled bright green. The taste is green, but more like asparagus than spinach. It's a warm, sweet tea with a nutty overtone.
This little tea is very enjoyable if you are in the mood for something that has a very 'grassy' taste. It is distinct from my last kukicha experience (a different brand) which tasted literally like drinking twigs or... well... a tree. Regardless, this tea is successful in my book in that it will definitely satisfy when I have that craving
I really like this tea. It is not too 'earthy' flavored. Not much difference (to me) between this and sencha (which I also like a lot).
This is an amazing green tea! Definitely a favorite. I love the sweet, grassy aroma and taste. I usually add a touch of sweetener and put it on ice. It's become my stand-by and I love it.
This tea smells and tastes like a freshly mowed lawn - a good thing in my book, it makes me think of spring and warmth, but if that doesn't appeal to you then you might want to give this tea a miss. Very mellow and delicate in flavor, very little astringency when brewed well. I wasn't sure I liked it at the first sip because I couldn't taste it so well, but as I kept drinking I enjoyed it more and more, I think the taste comes out once you're a little way into the cup. Smooth and delicious.
I remember getting this tea as part of a set - it originally didn't amaze me, but I'm glad that I stuck with it. After tasting other teas, I found myself happy to come back to kukicha for its grassy taste (and, to a small extent, texture - the leaves do put tiny bits into the water). Wonderful tea, one of my favorites now.
Kind of a grassy flavor, but very decent green tea if you like that.
I accidentally ordered this tea, but I wasn't even angry--it's not bad.
This is a real sweet green. Be careful not to steep it too long or too hot or it will tend to bring out real grassy bitter notes.
Different, enjoyable. Definitely grassy, but almost a faint hint of sea to me.
One of my top two green teas. This tea will stop you in your tracks. It has a innate sweetness that may make you think twice about adding sugar. It has bright (sweet?) notes that I have not found in any other tea. Incredibly satisfying. Add a litte extra when steeping - you're using leaves and stems with this tea.
A very nice green tea. Just wanted to try something different and as usual I'm pleasantly surprised by the taste. I was never a big green tea fan until I had Adagio.
Not enough of a con-e-sue-er to appreciate this cup.
This tea isn't for me. It has a strange taste that I can't describe.
This is my favorite green tea. Very grassy and fragrant.
This one's for when I'd like a delicate green with a touch of sweetness and vibrant colour.
This tea smelled very strongly of spinach. The taste was better, if grassy, but I simply could not get over the smell.
Great variety of green tea flavors and grassy notes that are not too strong and not too weak. Delicious green tea. Try it iced!
Surprizingly light, the tea brews to a nice golden color (and can stand up to 3 brews without losing intensity). It is fairly straightforward, without any floral undertones. But that's what makes it pleasant.
This tea just didn't click with me, though I'm sure others will like it well enough.
This tea was an experience. The first thing i noticed was the thick yellow color...reminded me of something else...when i first tried it I was not pleased with the taste at all, but since i don't waste my teas i drank it and towards the end i got the brewing down for it and the taste became more and more pleasant i may try some more steamed green teas
Great tea! Nice green color, good taste, not astringent, good sweetish aftertaste. Can be brewed 2-3 times.
Another great refreshing clean cup of Japanese green
Living in Phoenix, I'm not a big hot-beverage drinker. While most of Adagio's other green teas are just nasty iced, the kukicha makes an outstanding iced tea. It's light, not at all bitter, and really refreshing.
It's gotten me off iced coffee and regular iced teas completely: just make a pot, let it steep a minute longer than otherwise, and pour over a glass full of ice. It refrigerates well too.
blends well with others
enjoyable over ice
i would like some more
Really enjoy this tea. Try mixing with a Jasmine.
I absolutely love this tea. It took awhile to grow on me, but then I was hooked. Living in Texas, I always have a huge pitcher of iced Kukicha in my fridge.
Alas, my supply of Kukicha is almost gone! I have enjoyed this tea. I love the color of the brew. It has a light, mellow flavor with nutty notes. It reminds me a bit of Matcha tea.
A solid green tea. The small stems give it a very natural, planty flavor.
I got Kukicha in one of the samplers and really like it! different from my other favorite, Genmai Cha, but also tasty either hot or over ice.
I thought dragonwell was my favorite green tea but kukicha is now right there with it. This tea is more green, or vegetal, and sweet than dragonwell. It was very smooth, no bitterness and was extra great with a little sugar.
This kukicha tastes more like sencha than the kukichas I have had in the past. With that said, I love the grassy and earthy notes to it. If you like green tasting greens, try this kukicha!
My favorite Japanese tea. A little lighter and smoother than sencha.
A decent kukicha, though I think adagio's brewing instructions for all japanese teas are inappropriate, 1 minute infusions are all thats needed with these japanese teas. Good everyday tea.
Pretty sweet and a little grassy
Love the grassy flavor. Some people are not a big fan of the sticks mixed in with the leaves, but I think it give it a good solid green grassy taste.
I love the fresh and vibrant flavor of this tea! I think you are definitely getting bang for your buck with this one.
I LOVE this green tea! It has a nice sweet, yet mild flavor. Not too earthy or grassy like other green teas I have tried. It's a new favorite!
This is awesome. Just like the description on my packet, this tea has chestnut undertones that I really enjoy. It's also grassy (which is characteristic that I actually like) and less astringent than other green teas I tasted. My taste buds were not disappointed in the least. Highly recommended!
The first thought I had when I sipped this tea was YES! Delicious.
Does taste like sesame seed, I think. Not as good as other greens, but what would you expect, when 50% of the bag is stems?
My favorite unflavored green tea. Slighty grassy but with a touch of sweetness. I can easily get two infusions out of each pot.
