Probably the chocolatiest chocolate tea I've tried so far. Very yummy.
A tasty chocolate blend that is good by itself or as a tea latte.
A great blend with a rich, chocolatey flavor to it. Adding milk or cream isn't necessary but I'd recommend for a hot chocolate feel to it.
This has a huge punch of chocolate missing in many of the more subtle chocolate teas. I brewed it with a packet of stevia in the pot. Didn't get any bitterness, but might try a lower temperature next time. An absolute win for chocolate lovers.
This tea smells divine and very chocolaty, but the flavor is milder than the scent. I will have to get a bigger sample than the CommuniTEA packet and try again with a little cream and sugar.
CommuniTEA Sample: Good black tea with some nice chocolate flavor. It isn't sweet at all and would go great with a splash of cream or some sugar. Not bitter at all if steeped at 195 or so instead of 212.
This tea is very strong.! I could not drink it black as it was quite bitter, but after some sweetener and cream it was delicious. The chocolate flavor is strong with this one. If you like chocolate flavored teas, this one is for you.
This is a lovely, well balanced tea with amazing front notes of chocolate. The delicious scent of coco permeated the air when I opened my communiTEA packet and got me excited to brew a cup.
The overall flavor is certainly chocolate heavy but in a way that is balanced, not overly dark or sweet, and with a lovely lingering cocoa taste after a sip. The tea itself is just a bit astringent which works in it's favor I believe. I didn't pick up on the chicory at all which may indicate it was absent from my sample - but I forgot to check before I steeped, I was in too big a hurry to enjoy the tea!
3 min steep @ 200°
Enjoying along with the CommuniTEA:
Strong dark chocolate notes noticed from the dry ingredients and packet. Once steeped for 3 mins at 190° F, I notice honey ceylon tea notes with cocoa from my cup. When I take a sip, I get subtle flavors of chocolate and honey black tea, with a chocolate liqueur finish and mildly bitter cocoa tannins linger longer on the palate. Very good good cup!
Smooth, rich, chocolaty goodness! The black tea base and the chicory blends seamlessly with the cocoa making an even richer chocolate flavor.
Adding a little cream and sugar makes it a perfect dessert tea. I highly recommend this one to anyone with a sweet tooth.
For a chocolate tea it is pretty good. Will balanced, not over the top like some of them. Festive!
This one could definitely replace hot chocolate for me with a tiny bit of cream and sugar. Too bad it has caffeine!
This one reminds me of Irish Stout without the boozy overtones. I do think I prefer that blend to Chocolate Truffle, but both are pretty yummy! This brew is what it advertises--straight up chocolate in a cup. Add some sweetener to make it even more delicious! Dessert for breakfast? Why not! Happy Sipping!
I steeped this tea in 12 oz of water for 3 minutes at 190* in the hope of avoiding the bitterness I noted the first time I tried this tea a couple of weeks ago.
Upon opening the packet I was treated to the heavenly aroma of chocolate…yummy, yummy chocolate. Visually, I saw chocolate chips, cocoa nibs and blue cornflower, along with black teas and a few other things that I was unable to identify with my untrained eye.
This is my second time trying this tea. At 212* it was bitter, at 190* a mild bitterness made itself known. Tea sugar toned that down. Even with the sugar, the tea was not as sweet as the aroma would indicate and I was mildly disappointed.
To me this is a lot like a plain black tea with overtones of dark chocolate. It is a pleasant enough tea that leaves a nice aftertaste with a hint of chocolate, but is not necessarily something I would pick up again. I really wanted to love this, but it is only a “meh” for me.
NOTE: I had to let it sit for a few minutes to answer the door and let our guest in. When I started drinking it again the flavors had really intensified. I could definitely taste the chocolate. This bumps my original rating from a “meh” to a “good”. I might even pick it up again.
The dry leaves smell so very decadent. Oh how I luv a chocolate tea and this one does not disappoint! Rich, chocolatey flavors. I added a little sweetener and milk for a Devine cuppa!
Chocolate holic
Chocolate chocolate please!
With more chocolate!
Yummy latte, yay!
I could sip this everyday
Except high caff AAGH!
(Haiku Review)
I loved this tea! I made with vanilla creamer for a rich and yummy chocolate latte
The smell was incredible but the chocolate taste was not present at all. Overall was just average for myself.
Yum! This tastes like a rich flavored dark hot chocolate with a twist of tea.The combination of cocoa nibs, chicory and mini dark chocolate chips provides a deep chocolate flavor while the black tea base adds a pleasant heft. When I first sampled this, I hadn’t tried a chocolate tea before so it was a novelty. But it was love at first sip and I bought a big bag to enjoy sipping solo and adding to other teas for a nice kick of chocolate flavor.
My CT packet today had 3 g/ 2 tsp of all ingredients enough to brew 12 oz. at 200*F for 3 min. No bitterness was detected but unsweetened, the dark golden brown liquor had a strident chocolate taste. A sweetener add, though, quickly changed this sharp flavor to a delightfully pleasing and sweeter one. My first cup was gone in a flash and a 6 oz. resteep, a bit milder in color and flavor, was too. Chilled, the cold tea was delicious, with a lighter and more mellow but still rich chocolate taste. This tea is a wonderful one to try if you’re a chocolate lover.
Great tea!
Who needs hot chocolate when you have chocolate truffles TEA-CoCo. ( He he he) Rich creamy and delicious with cream and sweetener to bring all the distinct flavors that make this tea incredible.
Best chocolate tea from adagio. Try a sample first then you will be hooked. I used milk and sweetener, and the tea taste like Tea-Coco! Lol
A really good chocolate tea. It's a rich, smooth, dark chocolate flavor. It would be a good substitute to hot chocolate.
Strong black tea with a hint of chicory and strong chocolate aroma. I added a few chocolate chips to my second steep.
This is a nice smooth black tea that is far from overbearing. I loved the balance between the black tea, chicory and chocolate.
This tea is dessert in a mug or in your favorite china tea cup!
This is by far one of my favorite teas. I usually allow it to cool just a bit before diving in.
One of my new favorite teas. I got 3 steeps from the leaves while it still maintained a chocolatey flavor. It's a real afternoon treat.
Yum, this is delicious! I love chocolate tea, and dark chocolate. Smells heavenly out of the bag. It has that delicious dark chocolate flavor, and the addition of the chocolate chips adds a little guilty pleasure to it! I did have to add honey because it was bitter at 212. Next time I will brew at 195 and see how it goes.
I picked this one up on a whim. I am trying to cut back on adding sugar to my tea so I went with a sweeter flavored tea to try. This was a pleasant surprise. It was highly recommended in some of the other reviews, and I read one that compared it to hot chocolate when adding a splash of milk, which is accurate. This will remain in my rotation.
This is my go to for an indulgent yreat right now. I like the chocolate taste and the smell of it a lot.
Can't go wrong with this chocolate blend. I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
This was all right, but the chocolate flavor seemed a little artificial. I think that just the cocoa nibs would have been fine for me. I might try adding a little sugar or some chili flakes next time.
This almost tasted like a hot cocoa. Very yummy with a hint of milk
Chocolate Truffle tea for me has delightful layers of flavors. I reward myself with a cup of this tea when I feel I deserve something extra special. Sit back, relax and enjoy with this tea!
Not my favorite tea, but I am not a big fan of chocolate tea, so beware of my review.
Update, still a favorite and now being used to mix with other teas during 'make your own mix' tea times.
This was specially requested by my Coast Guard granddaughter. She keeps a tea drawer for her unit to use.
One of my favorites. Very flavorful and smells wonderful.
Not unenjoyable, per se, but the chocolate is a little aggressive. I think it may be the cocoa nibs that push it over the edge. Might be good if balanced with milk, but I think that may just make me wish for a hot cocoa instead.
GOD i love this tea. it has a strong flavor, given its a chocolatey black tea, but thats perfect for me. i think adding honey does this tea some wonders, since it really makes it taste like dessert at that point
Love this tea. It has such a rich dark chocolate flavor but not overpowering. Great to curl up with a blanket and a book.
Makes a great substitute for hot chocolate if you use double the tea and add milk and sugar. @adagioteas
This is very good. It has a wonderful chocolate flavor, and reminds me a lot of the chocolate chip tea, which is one of my absolute favorites. I cold-brewed it, so I haven't tried it hot yet, but I'm trying to figure out if I like this one better or Chocolate Chip better... I'll update when I figure it out, but I definitely love it.
I may have expected too much from the 'chocolate' elements--this is really a cacao tea, and it's good at being that. Will probably not repurchase.
I really like the chocolate taste but not overwhelming
My husband’s favorite. He likes it best with some cream and sweetener. Very cozy and very chocolatey!
Delish tea! Not too strong, just right! I enjoy chocolate truffle as a special treat among my other teas!
It doesn't necessarily taste like hot chocolate, but that isn't what it's supposed to taste like. It's a nice, dark, smooth tea with chocolate notes, which I really enjoyed!
Chocolate tea. What is not to love?? I hadn't tried chocolate tea before and it's a new favourite.
I love this one! 10/10 recommend. Great taste and after taste.
This tea definitely has chocolate flavor but needs sweetener to arrive at its full potential. Not my favorite that I’ve tried, but perhaps good as a winter sweetened beverage!
