Oh my, what a lovely chocolate flavor! This tea that is not too delicate and not too bold. If you don't over brew it, you will be rewarded with a lovely chocolate tea. Over brewing will require added sugar. It is worth setting a timer for this tea.
Like taking a bite out of a velvety smooth chocolate confection, our Chocolate Truffle tea is truly a chocolate lovers dream.

The first cup I may have brewed it too long. But when I brew it about three minutes it seems to be just right. I also add some sugar. It isn't as chocolatey as I hoped, but it is a very nice morning tea. It also retains pretty good flavor for a second seep.
Very good chocolate tea-rich dark chocolate flavor. Great with a little milk- will definitely buy again.
A chocolate lovers treat. I love this tea. Just yummy anytime.
Excellent tea to have as dessert substitute. It does contain caffeine, but I still drink it before bed when I have a sweet tooth. Like other reviewers have stated, adding a very small amount of milk or cream (I use heavy whipping cream, about 1/8 tsp) and a similar amount of sugar/sweetener gives it a creamy chocolate mouthfeel and helps to cut bitterness.
Loved it! Tasted like drinking a cup of hot cocoa.
Deep rich chocolate pairs beautifully with the black tea! If you're looking for something sweet and dark, this is the one for you!!
This tea was great. The smell is enchanting. Was perfect for curving my late night chocolate crave. Will buy again.
Really nice chocolate tea that doesn't taste fake. I like to mix it 50/50 with summer rose and add a dash of milk for a nice creamy treat.
The chocolate is not overwhelming, but shows up as a harmonious partner to a creamy mallow taste and mouth feel. A very comforting tea on a chilly morning. A little sweetener is essential. My personal choice is honey, but agave worked well too. @adagioteas
This is our go to tea for each morning. It is rich, comforting and delicious! Although I love lots of teas this is probably our favorite overall! I drink it with a little half and half making it creamy and yummy!
Can you say dessert with no guilt? I love this tea!
This is my favorite tea! The chocolate notes are just enough to make you think you’re having a cup of chocolate milk. Definitely pair with cream.
Update to add, a tiny bit of collagen powder makes this feel like a sweet treat! Super decadent. Really great as a tea latte with a dollop of whipped cream!
I can't get enough of this chocolate truffle tea. It is dessert in a cup. I also love mixing it with black cream or almond black teas. It is best with a sweet creamer and delicious anytime.
Yummy! Closed my eyes and sipped in this delicious chocolate truffle. This is now on my fave list!
Chocolate temptations on a cold wintery day, this hits the spot. This tea hits the spot. It's my go to tea after a chilly day out in the snow.
I was a bit disappointed. The flavors tasted a bit artificial. I've had better chocolate flavored black tea
A delicious tea. Tastes like chocolate. We still prefer Adagio’s Valentine tea to this though so if you’re a chocolate lover try that one too!
I cannot review this tea by itself, because I am not a fan of chocolate teas, however, I love the combination of raspberry and chocolate flavors, so I mix myself the black raspberry tea and chocolate truffle in the proportion of 60-65% * 40-35% and I m happy with this blend. @adagioteas
10/10 would recommend 100 times over.
Everyone should try it.
An old favorite of mine, rich in chocolate flavor and taste, full-bodied and strong, it tastes like raw cacao tea if you don't add any sweetener. But with a bit of honey, its the perfect dark chocolate tea.
Dessert in a cup. Tastes of Dutch cocoa powder and a slight natural sweetness. Brewed too long it becomes a bit bitter, so stay under 5 min with 190 water for a wonderful cup. Can you say dessert tea, try it with chocolate cake ;)
Chocolate was not very notable. I would have liked more dark chocolate to come through the spices.
Very few tea companies do chocolate tea well. But Adagio knocks it out of the park with this one. This isn’t a weak, wimpy chocolate tea. This is a BOLD, ROBUST, dark chocolate tea. Add some milk and sugar to tame it down if you must, but this is tea is rich and decadent all on its own. @adagioteas
Unexpectedly lovely! I was afraid this tea would mimic a tootsie roll more than it did a cup of hot cocoa, but the chocolate flavor is pretty authentic. With a little stevia and milk/cream, this makes a delectable morning treat when I want something sweet. It also makes a great finish to a savory breakfast.
This is definitely one of the best chocolate teas that I've gotten!
Downright decadent! Not only is this tea delightfully chocolatey, it's also surprisingly creamy. It really did taste like a tea-infused chocolate truffle--which makes sense, since I suppose it's actually a chocolate truffle-infused tea!
To be perfectly honest, chocolate tea struck me as very odd at first. The watery consistency made me feel like if I’m going to the trouble for a hot chocolate beverage it may as well be, well, hot chocolate! Chocolate Truffle is easily the most full-bodied and flavorful of the chocolate teas offered. Steep at a lower temperature to avoid bitterness (good advice for all black teas) and watch the steep time. Add a little sugar and maybe creamer for a truly enjoyable dessert tea.
I love a good chocolate tea, and this is one of the best straight chocolates out there. Grown up hot chocolate without the calorie guilt or tummy ache! Tastes good enough you might still think you have something to be guilty about!
Not always a huge fan of chocolate teas, but this ain’t too bad. Nice bitter chocolate flavors. Added a touch of honey to help with the bitterness. I think this would be enjoyable in a blend. Would like to try this again with some cream in it. I think that would really amp this up a notch. Steeped at 195° for 3 mins.
Velvety smooth chocolatey goodness! This one is a favorite.
Intense chocolate and chicory but not much else. Dark and needed milk maybe even peppermint or cinnamon to make it better.
This tea delivers delicious chocolate taste even without the chocolate chips which my Communitea packet lacked. A little cream and sugar makes this taste superb. It doesn't give the effect of hot chocolate because it's clearly a tea, a scrumptious chocolaTea.
Really nice chocolate flavor. I love the blue cornflowers too
Today's CommuniTea packet is chocolate truffle, made of black tea, cocoa nibs, chocolate flavor, chicory, dark chocolate chips, cocoa and blue cornflowers. While I love mocha, I'm a little more iffy about chocolate teas, and I'm not sure how I feel about this one. The chocolate flavor is strong, but people who add sugar and milk to their tea might appreciate this one a bit more. On its own, it's good, but seems a little off the mark. Brewed in 12 ounces of 200 degree water for just shy of three minutes.
This tea is fabulous. Cocoa nibs and chicory blend with the tea perfectly to create a sippable chocolate treat. Not bitter, not sweet, just decadent and delicious.
Definitely smelled like chocolate as soon as I opened it! Very chocolaty, slightly bitter taste. Tried both plain and with a little cream as suggested, both good.
This tea is so good! While I will admit that the smell is stronger than the brewed-up flavor, the taste is still delightfully chocolate-y. If only this flavor also came in decaf, so I could enjoy it all day long!
I love anything chocolate! I tried this a number of different ways and enjoyed it most with a splash of vanilla creamer.
I found it mostly cloying, but that could be because I couldn’t imagine it without milk and sugar
This is a fantastic chocolate tea! Nice black base. Great with a splash of milk of your choosing
Nice chocolate tea, but not the decadence I was anticipating. My CommuniTEA sample didn't have any chocolate chips, though, so it may not have been representative of the blend. I steeped at 190°F x 3 minutes, and added a little sweetener to bring the chocolate forward. No bitterness noted. A good dessert tea with a mild chocolate taste.
An absolutely lovely chocolate flavor. I do wish I had a bit of cream, but still delicious without it.
Chocolate it is. Dark chocolate is my love; however, this was bitter for me unless I sipped quickly. Perhaps some cream or sweetener would help.
What a wonderful smooth chocolate tea! Perfect for the holiday season.
A nice tea with a small amount of chocolate flavor.
Sweet and subtle, and surprisingly less rich and decadent as other chocolate teas I've had. Not a bad thing! Good for a chocolate fix without going overboard.
Reviewing as part of Communitea
This was honestly much better than the actual chocolate truffle I had today. My only complaint would be that it seemed a bit weak in flavor, but I think that's an error on my part of brewing with too much water for my little sample packet.
In the bag, very chocolatey, but there is something unpleasant, almost alcoholic. Once brewed, Just chocolate, and definitely a chocolate truffle! And it's tastes very chocolatey too! If you like chocolate, you'll like this tea. Delicious!
