As soon as I opened the packet the smell reminded me of store-bought bubble tea, and tasting this wonderful brew with cream and sugar has cemented the association. I wonder if chestnut flavouring is a secret ingredient in some shops? Either way, I love it.

A really delicious tea! It tastes like maple chestnuts. I added a splash of heavy cream to bring out the flavors more.

Wonderful, warm! I've had this tea before but each time I enjoy it. It is nutty and strong. Definitely not a tea that is shy with flavor

Full disclosure - I have never had a chestnut, so I don't know what they are supposed to taste like. This tea has a toasted, nutty flavor that is stronger iced, than hot. It is very enjoyable!

Oddly I do not like how this one smells but I enjoy the flavor. I just hold my nose while I take a sip. Flavor is rich, full body with a natural sweetness. The aroma- i just cant. Ive never eaten a chestnut before so I can not say how close it is in flavor. 212, 3 min. Added milk.

CommuniTEA Sample: There is definitely a strong flavor with this tea, so it's not for the faint of heart. I did steep it lower and shorter temp/time to help keep it at bay, but it didn't work that well. Still very strong in the nut flavor area.

It's not a bad tea, but not one I will probably steep that often.

This is a simple two ingredient tea. I enjoy chestnuts, so I looked forward to trying this. Upon opening the packet I saw a lovely deep, dark, black tea. The aroma of chestnuts and, oddly enough, what seemed to be vanilla or maybe maple, filled the air. I don’t believe there is any vanilla or maple in this tea, but that’s what it smelled like.
I steeped the tea for 3 minutes at 190*F in 12 oz of water to try to mitigate any bitterness or astringency. I added two teaspoons of tea sugar as well.
Despite liking chestnuts, I wasn’t impressed with this tea at first sip. After letting it set a bit, it was still not a favorite. It is a strong flavored teas and quite smooth. I think it might benefit from a splash of almond milk along with the sweetener. I do think that chestnut lovers will love this tea. As for myself, I wouldn’t have a problem drinking it again, even with it being a black tea, which is saying a lot for me, but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to have it again.
RE EVALUATION: As the tea cools it is much more to my liking. I’m bumping it up from my original ‘meh’ to ‘good’ and from 3 stars to 4. It’s a sneaky chestnut tea. ;)
This tea leaves a pleasant aftertaste and has really grown on me.
I am an impatient tea drinker. I want my cuppa immediately upon steeping—and I want it hot. I have to learn to curb my impatience and not be so hasty, as I am discovering good things (as far as taste goes) really do come to those who wait.

I just must confess!
I don't love to eat chestnuts...
Nope, just can't EAT them

BUT, I can drink them...
They taste fabulous in tea!
A rich, unique taste!

Holding onto nuts...

Delicious! I mix vanilla oolong with the chestnut tea to make a perfect comfort blend. The chestnut on it's own has a toasty, caramel like mild-nutty taste to the tea. In the CommuniTea packet: the chestnut smell is stronger then taste of the tea. I used milk and sweetener to bring out the distinct flavors. 3 minutes : 212 Temp : 12 oz cup :

The chestnut tea is really good, but I just wish the chestnut had more of a deeper flavor. I would buy this tea again and again. This tea is perfect for the christmas holidays. I used sweetener to bring out more of the chestnut flavor. 3minutes: 12 oz mug : 212 Temp:

I abolutely love this tea, and I totally did not expect it. I first had it in another blend, so then ordered a sample. It is delicious, like a rich, almost caramel flavor. It is amazing on its own or mixed with a spice tea.

This is such a hearty comforting tea, it has become my favorite tea for the winter. It has a very toasty and rich flavor which is pleasant on its own or with cream and sugar :)

Trying this tea again several years later, it is still a favourite. The deep nutty flavour is comforting and festive, drinking this tea just makes me feel like I'm wrapped up in a blanket next to a wood fire.

I enjoyed this tea while making it as a cold brew, letting it steep in cold water overnight. The tea taste like well-roasted chestnut snack.

Sweet and buttery flavor, very strong flavors even when steeped for just 3 min

This is one of my favorites! Great hot with a touch of milk and sugar. Lovely on its own, sipped slowly. As it cools it tastes nuttier and has a smooth mouth-feel. Perfect as an iced tea latte. Even over-steeped, it retains its flavor without being too bitter.

Rich and warm and delicious. All around a comforting cup of tea with a sweet nutty aroma. Can easily get too bitter if you use too much tea or brew too long... then I lost all hints of chestnut and just got bitter and tannins.

I first received this tea through the Christmas sampler's and absolutely fell in love with this one! It has such a rich nutty flavor to it that I really enjoy along with a bit of milk.

I guess I'm not a big fan of flavored teas. I found this to be too sweet (even without adding any sugar!) I only used a pinch of this with some Ceylon Sonata to make iced tea. It was too overpowering for my taste, didn't even taste like tea, and I tossed it in the bin. I guess I satisfied my curiosity, and now that I've 'been there,' I don't need to do it again.

I love this tea! It tastes great with cream and sugar. The nutty flavor is very good but not overpowering.

Chestnut is my favorite out of the black teas offered. I have been buying for years from Adagio because I can not get enough especially during cooler seasons(I live in the south)...the warmth of a good cup without being 'bitey'.

★★★★★

I have never had roasted chestnuts and now I am wondering why. What a tasty cup of tea. Nutty and caramel sweet. This is going on my 'to buy' list for sure.

The strong aroma of the dry leaves had me worried, but it translated to a really nice nutty/woodsie flavor with maple syrup aroma in the cup! Chestnuts ... maybe. This tea conjures visions of cracking 100's of hazelnuts for the Thanksgiving turkey stuffing! Definitely benefits from a half dose of sweetener.

There is a great, nutty Aroma to this one, but the flavor just doesn't quite deliver. I feel like it might be better mixed with another tea rather than on its own

★★★★★

Nice strong tea-- interestingly boba-like aroma, don't quite know where that's coming from, but I'm smelling tapioca balls! (Not a complaint!) Wouldn't peg the flavor as chestnut, but I like it a lot.

I quite like this delightfully warm, nutty tea. It s pleasant to drink around a bonfire.

This would not have been a flavor I would have thought to try, but it has a very good score. I now see why. The aroma is amazing and the flavor is nice and smooth - not overwheming. Perhaps Cream is still my favorite flavor, but I can see this as a runner up in a tie with Vanilla.
