I got this for winter as a festive tea. I dont think I like chestnuts as much as I thought I would. The tea is still good just more bitter than I prefer.

I don't usually drink Chestnut tea by itself. I think the flavor is very strong-- not the tea, but the natural flavor itself. I like it best in blends. Of the 61 blends I've tried in November and December, 44 were keepers and 7 of them featured Chestnut as the primary tea. That's double what any other single tea could claim. It may be partially because the blend creators liked it so much and selected it as a base tea, but it's also because *I* really enjoy it in a blend. It offers a sturdy and faintly sweet fragrance/taste. It 'works and plays well with others' to use a teacherly phrase.

This tastes just like a plain boba milk tea. Especially when you add cream.

Delicious nutty aroma and flavor. I liked it best with milk and sugar. Also very good blended with the butterscotch tea @adagioteas

★★★★★

Love the cozy, nutty flavor of this one. Perfect for a winter night.

I am not supposed to buy any more tea but this was SO GOOD that I had to get some. Tried it in the Advent calendar and I was hooked. Rich nutty almost caramel flavor, lots of body. An awesome tea.

★★★★★

It tastes exactly like it smells! Nutty and a little sweet. It's a great winter alternative to overly spiced or sweet teas.

So good! Warming and cozy and lovely especially with milk and honey. @adagioteas

This is a delicious tea. I was not expecting to enjoy it as much, but the nutty flavor is convincing and very tasty.

This continues to be a fall favorite of mine, a real go-to as the weather starts changing. The smooth nuttiness is delightful.

★★★★★

I really like this one, with a good smell and taste to go with it. Will look to get this again in the future.

★★★★★

I was not sure I would like this because I didn t know what chestnut would taste like... but I liked it from the first cup @adagioteas

Perfect for the holiday season, but also just a great nutty tea in general. Really captures the flavor and texture of chestnut, amazing with a bit of honey.

★★★★★

Yummmmmm, what a deliciously nutty, creamy, earthy, satisfying tea! It reminds me of winter coziness, and I'm 100% here for it!

I accidentally oversteeped this tea about twice as long as intended but since I use 195F for black teas it did not get bitter… and it was delicious! Plain (and extremely strong) it actually tasted almost like coffee. Normally this would be a negative for me and yet I loved this tea. With some rock sugar it was flat-out delicious. As it cooled there was a slight smokiness added to the impressive depth of flavor. Today’s CommuniTEA was a fantastic surprise.

I'm not usually into the flavor 'nutty', but it seems chestnut is a nut flavor I don't mind. I added a little stevia and it was wonderful. Creamy and perfect (even on the third steep)!

When I say that the moment I opened the pack my friends took in the full aroma, it is true. There couldn’t believe how strong and wonderful it smelled!! Truly delicious taste! Strong enough to enjoy the flavor, but not overpowering. Wonderfully bold tea today!

★★★★★

This tea is not something I would gravitate toward but I really liked it!

★★★★★

This was such a nice treat, and a very cozy flavor <3 I think I'd have to be in the right mood to enjoy it though because sometimes I'm iffy on nutty flavors

The aroma on opening the CommuniTEA packet reminded me of chocolate. I steeped at 195F x 3 min to avoid bitterness. Honey and cream really helped to smooth out the flavor. Later when it was room temperature it tasted like coffee. Overall a drinkable tea but not one I will order.

Love this tea you can taste the chestnut. Put little sugar. (212 @ 3 min). It smell like roasted chestnut.

This tea smells amazing and tastes even better. Rich and nutty, this is a great wake-up tea but can also be quite comforting due to the warm nostalgia of winters past the scent and flavor provide.

Outside of almond, I don't generally care for nutty teas. I'm also not big on maple flavor which this tea seems to have. I think I'd enjoy this more in blends versus straight.

I’ve never had actual chestnuts, but this tea brews up with an intriguing complexity. This would be easy to over steep, so watch for that. Otherwise, this is a cup of nutty goodness!

This is one tea that I am going to have to get a larger size of. It is funny, as I do not like chestnuts themselves, but I do enjoy the flavor! This tea is perfect with sugar. Even a splash of milk. Brew strongly!

Delicious cup of tea, fantastic choice for fall and winter!

My Mom always made chestnuts for the holidays but I never tried them. She no longer makes them and I wished I had tried them. This tea is delicious ! Not sure if it is similar to roasted chestnuts but I am looking forward to drinking this again.

This was great and had a lovely nutty flavor that felt like a winter evening by the fire.

Nutty black tea. Very much enjoyable on its own. But I think this will be better with chocolate chips.

CommuniTEA Review: This tea has been a favorite of mine for quite a while now. I finally got a chance to try real chestnuts this past week, so now I know how this tea compares in flavor. And I think I found a new favorite snack as well. :-)

Nov 26, 2014 Review: I ordered the holiday sampler a few years ago and this one was my favorite. It's great on its own or with milk and sugar. I was so glad when I saw it was finally offered on its own, instead of only in the sampler. Bought a larger bag of it this year.

A pleasing nutty aroma wafted up out of the packet as it cracked open. A quick 3 minute steep at 212°F produced a rich dark mahogany brew.

Chestnut flavor comes on strong and very woody. Toasted chestnut blends very well alongside the brisk Ceylon tea. They work so well together, in a smooth yet pleasingly strong way.

Roasted and toasted nut flavors add an extra bit of holiday warmth and cheer to this cup. This blend is one of our favorites around the holidays, and we are sure to drink it up quickly.

It sure is chestnutty. Not a personal fan, but if you want a nutty tea, here it is.

A tasty nutty blend that tastes good by itself or as a tea latte.

What a delicious tea! Even without sugar, it's fairly sweet, with lots of rich, nutty flavor. I'm going to have to start using this in blends, it's delightful.

This one smelled amazing when I opened it. I was a little disappointed that it didn't taste as good as it smelled. It was a decent tea and i enjoyed the cup, but it smelled soooo good.

★★★★★

The tea's reminiscent of roasted chestnuts, both tastewise and scent-wise. Definitely going to have to purchase next time.

Good warm and cozy chestnut flavor. I brewed at a lower temperature and steeped 2 - 1/2 minutes to minimize bitterness. I also added some vanilla creamer to sweeten and smooth it out.

Love this nutty tea. Rich, bold chestnut taste throughout the sip with a slightly dry finish. Wonderful with cinnamon added. I usually add cinnamon pieces while steeping, but it blends well with cinnamon tea and/or cinnamon honey. Do not steep higher than 195º or it can get bitter. I usually steep for about 3 minutes. I usually enjoy with honey only, but it takes cream well and it makes an amazing latte. Enjoy!

This is my absolute favorite autumn into Christmas tea! Nutty, full and rich blend.

This tea is very fragrant and flavorful. Strong and rich roasted nut flavor with a sweet quality that reminds me of maple syrup.

Tasted as part of the Communitea. Very much enjoyed this one! I was worried the flavoring would be too intense or fake, but once again adagio has hit a great balance of flavorful without being overpowering. Definitely adding this to my stash

Good tea, I am fond of nutty teas and this one is well balanced

This was a wonderful blend, full of rich nutty notes. Again, that strong Ceylon bitterness reared its ugly head! A bit of brown sugar and cream tamed it and brought it together to make for a yummy treat. How about a Decaf blend of this one Adagio?

Drinking along with the CommuniTEA: Overwhelming maple and nut fragrance from the dry ingredients and packet. nce steeped for 3 mins at 190° F, I notice more subtle honey black tea nuances with nutty maple scents wafting from my cup. When I take a sip, strong, but not too astringent back tea tannins with a sweet nutty maple finish that lingers on the palate. Based on my initial experience of the dry tea, I thought I wouldn't like this, but the resulting tea is nutty good. The maple flavoring strengthens as the tea cools. It also reminds me a little of hazelnut coffee.

12/16/21 Update:

This is still a favorite! It’s amazing!

12/12/20:

This tea is tasty and great on a cold day! Definitely don’t over-steep though or you will miss the chestnut to tannins.

I have never had chestnuts before but this tea is Devine. I added cream and sugar and it had the most unique flavor. Without knowing what actual chestnuts taste like I can't speak to how true of a flavor it is but all I know is now I feel the need to find some chestnuts to eat and try!

I think I was expecting more nuttiness to this. I just roasted some chestnuts last week and I would say this is more maple than chestnut. Sweet and delicious though.

I got a small tin of this with the holiday teas set last year and loved it so much (both alone and combined with other flavors) that I ordered a big bag of it to have on hand. There’s a rich nuttiness to it that I find highly enjoyable.
