★★☆☆☆

I was really surprised that I didn't like this tea. A good black tea with a roasted chestnut taste- what's not to like? It smells wonderful while brewing, however I have found a strong disconnect between the smell and the taste, and it just...bugs me. I've also found there to be bitter finish to it. My least favorite tea I've ordered from Adagio.

A great tea with almond milk and honey in the morning!

This is one of my favorite Adagio teas in the winter. It tastes lovely hot with a splash of vanilla creamer.

I've never tried an actual chestnut, but if they taste anything like this tea, then they are far sweeter than I imagined. Upon opening the bag, the scent put me in mind of ordering breakfast at a diner. If you told me this was a pancake themed tea, I would have believed you. The taste was less molasses syrup than the scent suggested, but that was still the closest comparison I could make. Too sweet for me, but not bad.

This tea has a nice, strong flavour, great with milk.

Very, very good. Excellent fragrance, smells kind of like maple sap, and it tastes much the same minus the sweetness. (Cold brewed for 10 hours)

I really like this tea. Love the smell and it tastes great.

A very nice smooth tea for the cooler months. Very relaxing to put your feet up and enjoy the fireplace while sipping this tea.

I mixed this with the cream tea for a lovely wintery combination :)

This is my personal favorite, the flavor goes with everything.

Tastes artificial. The chestnut extract is overwhelming and it simply tastes bad.

★☆☆☆☆

Too much "unroasted nut skin" flavour for me to drink solo, and it completely overwhelms anything else I try to blend it with. 1/4 tsp added to 1tsp chai and I can't taste the spices, just the chestnut. I'll keep experimenting though.

Really strong flavors with molasses/caramel notes. The tea itself is very strong and leaning on stringent/bitter, I think it's more suited for milk tea than black.

★★★★★

So good! This one is a favorite! A light chestnut flavor that is not too much.

This one just wasn't for me. The scent is quite strong and definitely smells of chestnut.

Chestnut is one of my favorites, nutty, and aromatic. (even though I have no idea if it actually tastes like chestnuts)

★★★★★

This is my go-to morning cup of tea. I now prefer this to English breakfast tea as my wake up cup!

Delicious flavor, black tea, seems to have more caffeine than other black teas (which is just fine).

Warm and cozy and perfect for the holidays. I keep this one in regular stock on my tea shelf.

There's just something about Chestnut that is amazing. The smell when you open the bag...mmm!! It tastes great, too! I also love it in the Vanilla Chestnut Cream Latte blend. It's my comfort tea.

This is one of my favorite flavors of tea. It sounds weird but it's really good.

★★★★★

If you like nut flavored teas you will like this one, the chestnut flavor comes through perfectly. It is neither sweet nor savory and adds more of a nutty note to the tea that is distinctly chestnut.

Great flavor! I enjoy it on its own, but I find I love mixing it with other teas even more! It gives such a warm comforing nuttiness when blended with other straight or flavored teas. Works with lots of teas and is very versatile. I would even recommend adding it to teas that are meh just to give them a boost!! @adagioteas

Very toasty nutty flavor reminiscent of a a coffee cake or some other baked good.

A very unexpected but lovely surprise! This actually tasted exactly like boba milk tea

★★★★★

Fantastic warm chestnut flavor that goes well with the black tea! Very comforting.

This is DELICIOUS!! I’m not getting chestnut necessarily…. I’m getting more ginger or gingerbread. It’s delicious and the reviews are awesome. It really is a great tea. I will definitely re-purchase this next year.

Although I've been saying it for years, I just can't seem to learn my own lesson. Tea is not coffee and coffee is not tea. Therefore, flavorings that go great with coffee (heavy cream, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, roasted nuts) 90% of the time will not work with tea. The same applies to coffee of course. Cinnamon and fruit flavored coffees will be a huge disappointment almost every time. I guess the reason why I keep repeating my mistakes with teas like this is that I have found some really delicious exceptions. Glazed lemon loaf (vanilla), chocolate mint and Almond apple cinnamon cream (vanilla). I would say that what makes these teas work is they combine ingredients that go well with tea (lemon, mint, cinnamon, apple) and tie them in with ingredients that don't. I actually liked this tea the first day I tried it, but just like an earl grey cream, that vanilla flavor got old and fake tasting really quick. For me the problem with this tea is that the 2 main distinctive flavorings, chestnut and vanilla are much better suited for coffee. This tea is trying to be something that it's not and never should've been.

Good cozy tea on a cold night. Oddly, it tastes like unsweetened maple syrup.

★★★★★

Great tea, smells good- brews to a deep amber and taste slight sweet and nutty. A very warming and cozy tea

Classic nutty flavor. Great way to start off a chilly morning. What a kick it has, too!

★★☆☆☆

This was not the tea for me. Smelled relatively interesting in the bag and while brewing but I found it very bitter.

★★★★★

A very serious go to tea I mix with my berry flavors. A sophisticated flavor, not an imitation candy like flavor at all.

My new obsession. Perfect hot or iced with vanilla unsweetened oat milk!

I just ordered a sample bag of this lovely tea and will definitely be coming back for more! It's nicely nutty and smooth, it really does taste like chestnuts! This is my first cup and I may have brewed it a little strong (2 tsp/8oz) because I often find the Adagio teas a little light to my tastes, but I think a little goes a long way with this one. I look forward to experimenting with this to get it just right and now want to explore blends that include this..maybe with some vanilla or cream flavors to smooth out the edges?

It's a very nice black tea, perfect for the chilly mornings we've been having lately. I didn't find that it needed sugar or milk, finding it perfect on its own. I only wish the scent was stronger once it's brewed. The dry leaf has a delightful nutty maple scent, but it seems fade a bit after brewing.

This is a great tea for people who enjoy teas with a mineral flavor. Sometimes I have issues figuring out the correct amount of time to steep because if I steep too little (2.5 minutes), it is mild and if I steep too long, the tea is very strong (3.5).

This is a fantastic black tea. Slightly sweet nutty flavor and amazingly smooth. Very good with milk!

This tea is my favorite Adagio Christmas blend. It is sweet and creamy with a nutty finish. It tastes like vanilla maple syrup and has a smooth, satisfying mouth feel. The plain tea is best at 3 minutes, which brings out it's sweetness and nutty aftertaste. It is great with cream and sugar, but then I would brew in harder water for about 5 mins. An absolutely great tea any time of the year.

I didn't think I'd like this, but the Chicago Adiago shop clerk suggested I try this & I LOVE it! It is my 'go to' tea any day, but especially for cold/snowy days for over 9 years!

★★★★★

I let this one steep a bit longer, because I like a stronger taste. You have a bit of wiggle room before it starts to get bitter. I don’t know how to describe this taste honestly - I’ve never had chestnut in a sweet dish, so I’m not even sure it tastes authentically like chestnut - it just tastes really good!

This is a warm flavored tea. Not bitter, a little sweet. Really great tea for winter.

I absolutely love this tea. I got a single serving in a sampler bag sent to my by my aunt for Christmas, and new immediately after drinking it that I was going to buy more of this flavor. The simplicity of the black Ceylon and the nutty additional flavor is amazing!
