I wasn't sure what I was going to get with this tea, and what a pleasant surprise it was! The black tea has a smooth flavor, almost like earl grey moonlight, and there is a soft chestnut aftertaste. Planning to try it with some milk and honey (after I buy the 16oz bag.)
I first discovered Chestnut in the Christmas sampler bags and was thrilled to find it in the loose teas as well. This tea will stay on my keeper list as one of my favorites! It gets reordered regularly...Adagio is one of the few places I've found that carries this great flavor.
I discovered this tea last December, and it quickly became my go-to wintertime beverage of choice. Drinking it is like getting a warm hug from a sweet maple cookie-I don't want to face another polar vortex without it!

To my horror, I recently ran out of chestnut tea. The cold weather was approaching, and I needed my holiday tea fix stat. Thankfully, I live in the Windy City, and I jumped on the next northbound train to State St., where I walked into the Adagio store with high hopes--that were to be crushed as I realized no chestnut pouches were to be seen among the other autumnal brews. Upon seeing my dejected and forlorn expression, a kindly employee offered me a secret: they had chestnut in a big bag downstairs. They could fill up a 3oz pouch for me. It was all I could do NOT to embrace that kind woman. Life is once more filled with cups of sweet, well-rounded, nutty chestnut tea.
This smelled amazing but I didn't really care for it brewed.
I purchased a sample of this. The tea smells awesome and I absolutely love it with milk and sugar. I'm usually not a fan of flavored teas, but this one is definitely a winner. I will be buying a larger portion next time.
A good black tea with an interesting warm, nutty, and somewhat sweet flavor. It doesn't actually taste like chestnuts in my opinion, but it's good.

A fantastic blend of maple and earthy, creamy nutiness - with a perfect dry finish: never bitter, never astringent. Wonderful. My favorite flavor so far and perfect with a small amount of raw sugar and light cream, hot. Off to order a pound as we speak!
I'm not particularly fond of chestnuts, but this tea is GOOD. It is mildy sweet and the chestnut flavor is definitly present.

Very seasonal type tea. Has a maple syrupy taste to it. which isn't a bad thing. It's definitely a nice breakfast tea... kinda felt like having some pancakes and Canadian bacon with it.
I've bought the full holiday sampler a few times now, and I'm really happy to see the individual teas available now. Unbrewed, this smells a bit cloying, but once brewed has a nice nutty flavor with a hint of sweetness.
This tea smell like waffles with maple syrup. Its toasty, nutty and sweet and I could live off the smell. It tastes just how it smells although a little on the bitter side. Its very nutty and has a hint of vanilla at the end. A bit of sugar really brings out the chestnut. This definitely one of my most favorite teas here and I will definitely stock up on a lot of this.
My most favorite tea of all time. It is sweet and nutty and just all sorts of goodness. The smell is wonderful. It's good even if you steep in cold water for a couple hours and drink it throughout the day adding more water throughout the day. The flavor comes through almost right off the bat and stays even after a couple of cups.
This is a nice nutty tea, but there's nothing particularly special about it. It's best as a mixer. I prefer the hazelnut and almond teas, personally.
This is probably the best flavored black tea that I have purchased from Adagio. It's not something I would drink everyday because I prefer plain black tea but this is a nice one to have for something different on occasion. The smell is amazing. This is one that I could year round and not just over the winter months. It's definitely better hot and is not one I would drink cold.

I tried my first sip of chestnut tea with cream and agave nectar and cussed out loud. It's SO GOOD. It's rich and warm and nutty and I can't wait for it to get really cold outside so I can drink it to warm up after coming inside. Wowza! And the scent is equally warm. The taste and aroma both hint at coffee, and I am not really a coffee drinker, but it works here and makes me think that this could become a regular morning tea this winter. I highly recommend this tea white and SLIGHTLY sweet. I also brewed it a little on the strong side, as I am wont to do. I used 1 slightly heaping teaspoon per 8oz water instead of 1 level teaspoon.
So if you enjoy hot black teas anywhere in the sweet/spicy/nutty flavor range, you'll probably like this.
I personally loved this flavor, but I shared the tea with my dad, who didn't particularly care for it. This one might be one of those flavors that people either love or hate.

This tea smells divine and wraps around you like a warm hug! Hints of cream and chocolate are suggested, along with the delicious chestnut flavor. Paired with cream and honey, it has become my favorite daily 'fall/winter' flavor. It's also my go-to tea when I need a little comforting, no matter the time of year!
If you like chestnut, this is a great tea. You can add sweetener if you wish, but this tea really doesn't need it. It also blends well with other warm flavors, such as vanilla.

I really enjoyed this tea hot with steamed almond milk (unsweetened) and a couple tsp of raw sugar as an alternative to my morning coffee. Has an excellent warm, earthy flavor with much less caffeine.
Smells oddly of maple. Tastes smooth and nutty, with a somewhat creamy chocolate finish. An amazing tea when you're craving desert. Adding milk and sugar is a must to get the full enjoyment of this tea. Definitely going to try this out in blends!
Like Cream tea but with a little more umph! I love this flavour. I take it with milk and a little agave syrup or stevia. Pairs wonderfully with desserts of a chocolate variety!

Oh. Wow. I LOVE this tea! I first bought a tin for a friend last year for her birthday and just recently purchased some for myself. It has a truly lovely smell and smooth, sweet flavour. Love, Love! Highly recommend this one! :)
I wasn't quite sure what to make of this tea. I received it as a sample. There is a warm toasty flavor which I found rather plesant coupled with an almost toffee undertone. I think this tea could grow on me but as it stands, I am still rather undecided if this tea blend is something I will order in the future. I advise trying a sample of this tea before you commit to a larger size.

Very warm, bold and comforting aroma. Follows through after steeping, chestnut flavor stays strong, but not overpowering.
This tea has a very nice nutty flavor to it. The flavor is a bit strong but very enjoyable.
My new favorite tea. I've introduced a few people to it and they also feel in love with it's warm nutty taste. It's delicious iced with a bit of sugar.
