So, given my distaste for hazelnut and my complete lack of knowledge of what a chestnut tastes LIKE (since my only experience with anything 'chestnut'-esque was 'water chestnuts' which, to me, have no flavor, and are probably totally different entities), I was scared to try this one. It was one I ordered as the free sample you get when you have a giant order, rather than one I just decided I wanted to buy - I kind of almost ran out of other samples to sample? So I figured, sure. It's surprisingly good, considering my misgivings!

To me it smells like a maple / brown sugar sort of smell - sweet and dark, like a caramel that's not the usual caramel. The nuttiness isn't really there for me until it steeps, and then it smells overly nutty and less sweet, but tastes like both things. It's nuttier than the caramel flavor, but it's very similar. More brown sugar, less butter. Steeped it too long the first time (an hour, whoops), so it got a bit bitter, but nothing cream didn't fix. Second cup(~8 min.) was a lot nicer.

It's not one I'd order a giant bag of, but I will definitely use it in blends, and may keep at least a sample - maybe a regular sized bag - of it around sometimes.

This is one of my favorite fall time teas. I ordered 16oz and when it arrived it looked like a huge pillow of tea. Tastes great though a bit bitter if you steep it too long.

I decided to try this after sampling an amazing blend that contained chestnut. And this tea has such good reviews, I figured it was worth a shot. Now I'm in this panicky spot where I only ordered 3 oz and I want it to forever be a part of my life and I need to order more and potentially stock up and maybe build a shed where I can keep barrels of it and someday when the apocalypse hits I'll be safe in my bunker with chestnut tea and maybe a little food if there's room

This super yummy, nutty tea is a great fall go-to. I enjoyed it with honey and milk.

Unusual but delicious treat. Great nutty flavor and aroma. A wonderful winter drink. This has grown on me quite a bit since I first tried it. It's my mom's favorite.

I usually really like nut teas, so I was a little disappointed. The nut flavor tasted really artificial to me. I'm going to give it some more tries at different strengths in hopes that will make it better.

Oh my god, guys. This tea, though. This tea. Definitely my new favorite black. Nutty, a little sweet, and just incredibly comforting. The chestnut flavor comes through without being overwhelming, and the black tea is fairly light and easy to drink. Perfect with meals, or whenever you need something warm and soothing.

I need to get more of this tea as soon as I am able. Can someone remind me to do this? I love this tea. This tea is awesome. You all want this tea. I know you won't remind me, and I don't blame you. I wouldn't either. The tea is THAT good. It is delicious. It is nutty. It is the holidays in a cup. It is perfect.

I would have given this all five stars, but I feel like the chestnut flavoring could be stronger. I could be wrong (I haven't had a lot of chestnuts in my day and plain black tea has always tasted a bit nutty to me), but I just didn't really taste much besides the tea. There was a touch of something in there, but I would've believed someone if they told me it was just a type of black tea.

very lovely nutty flavor, which I would expect from a chestnut tea

The chestnut flavor is smooth and strong, but never overwhelming. I find I use less tea/more water and it still produces a more flavorful tea than most, but even if I let it steep for hours it doesn't taste bitter. Also, after brewing a hot tea, I like to keep the infuser in my glass for chestnut flavored water throughout the day.

I love the aroma of this tea. Similar to hazelnut, but I like this more.

I love this tea. It's in my favorite blends. whatever it's added to has such a rich, satisfying taste and smell.

Chestnut definitely deserves the good reviews here! It is rich, full bodied, calming and comforting. It is delightful in a whole new way with cream. Perfect for when it is raining or snowing, after a long day at work, or when sitting by a crackling fire.

Classic holiday flavor. Great during the winter time next to the fireplace

This remains my favorite tea on the web site. It smells good enough to eat! The flavor is bold and I drink it through the winter.

Wonderful tea - strong flavor and wonderful with cream.

Before brewing the smell on this one is quite artificial. After brewing a cup It was not artificial tasting at all. It was really nutty and worked very well with a bit of milk.

I love how rich and decadent this is. I added a little cinnamon tea to this and a bit of milk and it was just divine.

One of my favorite nutty teas...very authentic. I would give this to anyone, but is a great christmas present.

I love this tea! The flavor is so strong, full mouthfeel, and the smell from the bag/when it's steeping is heavenly! Definitely tastes like chestnuts!

I love this tea. It has a wonderful aroma and the taste has hints of vanilla and cream. I just wish it was available year round.

By itself, this is one of the best black tea flavors. I really love the dry, nutty notes and this only improves when blended with other teas. Really, it just makes everything tastes better.

It's so homey and comforting! I love the nuttiness of the taste, but it's not heavy enough to deter you from adding a little cream to smooth it over. This will definitely be one of my go-to drinks for the evening when I need something to sip on.

I really liked this one. Nutty without being overpowering and it is one I'm going to use a lot in my custom blends.

My favorite black tea. It has a nutty flavor and has a great aroma that others around you can enjoy too!

The moment I smelled it, I didn't like it. The chestnut scent for me is too much in a tea. Maybe next time I'll try blending it with a milder flavor like cream.

I wouldn't really say this had a chestnut flavor, maybe just a gritty,nutty flavor if that makes sense. You know how chestnuts have a mealy texture, that actually comes through in this tea. It's still good, though.

Best best best tea ever! I put a pinch of this in almost all my black tea blends because it's so yummy!!!

I didn't think I knew what chestnut tasted like, and I'm still not sure I do, I just know I love this tea! It's warm, mellow, slightly sweet, like-chocolate-but-not.

If you've ever had sugared nuts (they're a Christmas treat for us) this carries the exact same flavor without the calories.

Easy to oversteep. Smells like maple syrup in the bag but comes out tasting dusty and bitter.

I'm... conflicted. It's a good earthy tea, but there's a strong note of... get this... kettle corn? In the pouch it's earthy and chestnutty, but in the cup, both the taste and aroma are distractingly and undeniably kettle corn. My husband thought the same thing. I didn't dislike it, but it's not one I'll be buying again.

My favorite tea in the world. I drink it every day.

I really loved the smell of this tea. It reminds me of Christmas. I eventually found the taste a little off-putting.

Adagio's Chestnut tea has become our favorite - we actually have it every day, and if we don't finish the pot, it gets chilled for what is a fantastic iced version (even a little bit of chestnut can make a batch of iced tea amazing). I taste toasted nut with a hint of caramel. Definitely a flavor I always buy.

This tea has a fantastic nut flavor, its a shame its always sold out when I try to buy it. It actually tastes richer and nuttier when you let it cool down closer to room temp. At first sip when it was piping hot I was disappointed, but I let it sit and almost forgot about it one day, and it was like a whole new tea.

I love this chestnut tea combined with whipped cream and vanilla bourbon extract (just a tad) and coconut crystals instead of sugar.Delicious!

I've never found any of Adagio's nut-flavored teas that I liked. This one is no different.

I tried this with the holiday sampler and fell in love. It makes you think of warm conversations in front of a toasty fire.

All nutty teas taste great in my opinion. You can't go wrong with it.

Unlike some other flavored teas, this one is nice and strong without being overwhelming. I haven't had it in a blend yet, but I think it would be a nice mix with other nutty or creamy flavors. Goes great with milk.

A superb nutty tea. Tried it with and without milk, both way are excellent. I enjoy that this tea was not overpowering in any way. Each drink left you satisfied but eager for more. I will always have this in my cupboard.

This tea has a very nice chestnut flavor. however, it overpowers the taste of the tea so I found I didn't enjoy it as much plain as I expected. It is, however, perfectly amazing with sugar and tapioca pearls, with or without milk.
