Before trying this I never would have guessed that chestnut and tea were good together, but this is a match made in heaven. I love it.
Perfect for enjoying in front of an open fire on a cool night, in any season. A comforting reminder of the season of giving, perfect to share with a few close friends.

A nice alternative to hazelnut that can be added to unflavored tea for a little variety.
What a treat this tea is! Last Christmas I bought a can of chestnut cream - pureed chestnuts with confectioners sugar (we used it to top Christmas bread). This tea tastes exactly like that can of chestnut cream. It tastes of roasted chestnuts and warm caramel. Very sweet aroma - even before sugar! I added brown sugar and a drop of milk as I like my tea sweetened and creamy. I would rate this great, as flavored teas go, but gave it good (and it is VERY good) only because the tea used (Ceylon) can be bitter if steeped beyond 3 minutes (I found that 5 minutes was just too long). I think the chestnut flavor would be far better blended with the bold but mellow Assam Harmony because the malty cereal notes would balance the chestnut far better, in my opinion. Regardless, I will be ordering this tea regularly. One of my favorites!
This tea smells heavenly! It was a wonderful, rich chestnut scent which carries over to the cup. This tea makes me think of Christmas/snowy winter days just by opening the packet. When brewed, the flavor mellows a little bit (compared to the smell), but still tastes nutty with a hint of smoky, chestnut sweetness. It pairs well with nut milks, which often tend to overpower subtle flavors with added nuttiness and lend a different flavor than dairy milks.
Heavier type tea with a robust chestnut taste. Goes with anything.
Nutty and delicious. Nice maple syrup fragrance to it. One of my morning favorites.
not a lover of chestnut flavor; would prefer nutty flavor in coffee not tea
This is one of my all time favorite teas. While I mostly think of it as a winter, I admit to indulging even in the hottest months from time to time. Rich, deep flavor, with a creamy mouth feel.
This is my all time favorite. I was introduced to it last December on a trip my husband and I took to a lodge in Pennsylvania. It was great in the winter! I can drink it every evening!
I'm liking this one. Not what I expected, but I'll probably buy again. I just tried it mixed with Adagio's vanilla tea and that makes them both better.
Nuttier and less sweet than I was hoping for. Smooth but reminds me more of coffee flavor than tea. I'll have to see if it grows on me.
This is a great wake up in the morning tea. Smooth and great smell.
great rich tea. great substitute for a smooth cup of coffee. going to try to blend with cream tea for a coffee w/cream brew taste.
Great for fall and winter. Sweet and nutty, good with sugar or milk.
This is one of my favorites. I love both the smell and taste. It has a lovely warm flavor and can be brewed twice. It is smooth tea with a rich yet light flavor.
This one is tasty, but you have to be careful as if you over-steep even a little, it gets very bitter. Not my favorite, but still pleasant.
This tea is good but not great. I prefer hazelnut over this
One of my favourite teas. Intense aroma and flavour that really sticks with you. Can be brewed multiple times and never disappoints. I return to this one time and again as a staple of my collection.
Absolute favorite out of everything I've tried from Adagio thus far. I don't really associate nuts with dessert, but this tastes like just that. I really hope they do a decaf version, as this would be a lovely thing to drink before bed.
This is one of my favorites. It's nutty, and slightly sweet, and it doesn't develop tannins that easily. Sometimes I'll leave the bag in and it doesn't get too bitter.
Like many things I've experience in my life, the first impression really wows me only to settle into a more controlled reaction. Kind of like when you meet somebody really special while under the influence. LOL I have a cup once in a while for a change of pace. May fall for this tea any when drinking it iced. A good tea but it doesn't seduce me.
I was sent a sample of this in one of my previous orders. I enjoyed the rich nutty flavor and it has made its way into my regular rotation.
I ordered this as part of a stocking stuffer last Christmas and inadvertently had the chestnut left over, but little did I know how much I would come to love it. I wouldn't say my palette is super-refined...I'm just a simple girl who enjoys good tea, and this tea is very enjoyable for me. This is the third time I've ordered it. I usually steep for about 90 seconds the first cup, and two minutes for the second cup, water just under boiling.
Had no idea what 'chestnut' would taste like; turns out it is sublime, this tea expresses itself so fully, the flavor is so unique (and does make you want to sit in front of a fire all relaxed)
Got it out of the holiday spirit - was pleasantly surprised!
Good with a rather different flavor. Okay once in a while but not daily.
Absolutely amazing tea!!! I wasn't sure that I would like when Ordering it the first time, but oh my goodness, I'm hooked for life!! I mostly drink it iced, but it's heavenly hot as well with a bit of cream. Amazing tea! :) I honestly hope you NEVER stop selling this tea, it's beyond amazing!
WOW! I am shocked at how much I like this tea. It smells utterly amazing when dry, has an extremely warming and soothing flavor to me when brewed (with a hint of squash in there somewhere?) and I am excited to start including it in blends. I'm not normally this much of a fan of flavored black teas, but this one instantly won me over.
EDIT: It turns out that I love this one even more with a little splash of milk!
This is one of my favorite Adagio teas. It's warm and comforting, nutty, rich, and hearty. It tastes like holiday comfort in a cup.
This is one of my favorite teas. When heated up, it smells like maple syrup.
I'm not quite sure what to think of the aroma, which is more maple-y than I'd like. Now that I've had this for a while, I'm finding the tea itself more maple-y than I wanted.
very good calming tea. it's a nice tea to have with a simple pastry in the morning while you are waking up.
What a great tea. I took the plunge, and bought the big bag based on people's reviews. I was not disappointed. The tea is really improved with a little cream, making it a roasty, nutty, perfect replacement for my morning coffee. Four minutes really is ideal. with that brew time it's smooth and rich without any bitter tannin flavors. Definitely keeping this one around.
Update; still one of my favorites. But I wanted to share my new favorite way to drink it. I've been mixing it with Masala chai! Chestnut chai. Trust me. It's fantastic!
Just a very good tasting tea to me. I'm realizing that I'm partial to the 'nut' teas and I think this is my favorite in the caffeinated black teas. A strong flavor but not bitter.
Love the nuttiness of the flavor for this tea, good for morning but I really enjoy this in the evening of cold night.
I was so sad when I ran out of this tea. It's the perfect thing for cold winter mornings.
This tea tastes a little bit like pancake syrup to me, but it's very delicious.
My morning eye-opener, so essential I try never to run out. The robust, rich nutty scent and flavor works well with black tea. LOVE this tea.
OMG, I got this as a sample and agree with Haukea Watkins about filling a bunker with it! It is the perfect winter tea and tastes like Christmas in a cup. It's sweet and nutty and the smell is divine.
Excellent tea - strong chestnut flavor. I prefer to add a little milk for a smooth finish.
This tea is amazing. Every time I tried a vanilla, hazelnut, or caramel tea, I was hoping for a tea that tasted like this. This is the tea I always hoped for but, until now, could never find.
I added a little of this tea to my steeping pot of Formosa Pouchong. The Pouchong is my favorite and adding a bit of this chestnut tea gave it an even richer taste.
Sweet, creamy and comforting, and the chesnut flavor is subtle and unique.
I love a good natural nutty tasting black tea and this is just that. Pair it with a sweetener and half and half and it is a great dessert tea!
Was not sue about this tea, but it's a black tea, tastes like one.
A super nice tea. It smells very full and tastes just as full. It's smooth, sweet and almost tastes a little like chocolate.
I did not really know what kind of taste to expect from this tea. It came as a part of my tea club. It's slightly nutty, but otherwise, more like a flavored black tea.
This is the greatest tea if you like the taste of chestnet. One of my favorites
Not quite as good as the Hazelnut but good in its own right.
Tastes exactly how it smells! Smooth, nutty and great with chocolate blends.
