Super yummy! Love the flavour, tastes just like you’d think.
Sweet, buttery and whimsical flavors are infused into this dessert tea and rounded off with hints of apple, cocoa nibs, and marigold.

Super yummy! Love the flavour, tastes just like you’d think.
This tea is unbelievable! Butterscotch is usually just ok for me but they got this one just right and it is now my favorite! You won’t be disappointed, try it today!
I’ve never been a butterscotch person, but this tea is making me a believer. It smells heavenly, sweet and buttery with a hint of cacao. And it tastes just as good as it smells, if not better. Its sweet caramel notes are well balanced by the ceylon and cacao nibs, the brisk and bitter notes cutting through and keeping it from being overly sweet and cloying. A fantastic dessert tea, great both solo or accompanying a sweet treat.
Really good. Tastes just like a butterscotch candy.
Super delicious, will buy again. Had a warm taste of butterscotch, while still being a mild tea.
I was impressed with this flavor! I imagine it was hard to replicate, but this was a pleasant butterscotch tea. A tiny bit harsh, but not much at all.
This is a great dessert tea. I like to drink it after lunch or dinner. Scones go really well with it as well. I have found if left to steep too long it will turn bitter.
Really love this tea... great for an after dinner sweet treat.I like mine with a bit of honey
This tea has an amazing sweet, rich butterscotch scent when you open the package. The flavor is a bit milder but still very noticeable. Be careful not to oversteep it though, or it will get too bitter!
The dessert tea! I know I shouldn’t have caffeine in the evenings, but if any tea gets me to break that rule it is this one. Lovely with some milk and honey. The smell alone is heavenly.
Absolutely amazing taste. I highly recommend this, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
I love this with a sweet breakfast. Very tasty with a great aroma. @adagioteas
This tea gives me a feeling like I ate ice cream. I miss ice cream…
I enjoy this as a blender with other teas more than on its own. I mixed it with Creme and Hazelnut, and Chocolate/Creme and really enjoyed it! @adagioteas
Very good black tea. Tastes a bit more carmely than butterscotch but still really liked this
Probably one of my new favorite teas. I was.never a fan of teas with apple pieces but this one is yummy
My neighbor loves this tea. It is her favorite with milk and sugar.
Love the butterscotch flavor. This one worked for me.
I was surprised by how sweet & warm this tea was, very much like its namesake candy.
I was very surprised with the strength of this tea, smelling it straight from the bag was like smelling candy. Though it was a bit too strong for my tastes, my family loved it and it was used up faster than any of my other teas
Yes please! Love this buttery sweet tea. I added nothing to it. Reminds me of a beloved childhood neighbor who always gave out butterscotch candies on Halloween.
Very good tea, but the butterscotch flavor isn't as strong as I had hoped
This was positively scrumptious, and the promise of butterscotch carried perfectly from the scent when I opened the sachet to the flavor when I took my first sip. There was a genuine tang that lingered on the back of my palate, like with true butterscotch, and I gave it the ol London Fog treatment with a splash of sweet cream to make it truly decadent.
Because of the other folks in the CommuniTEA, I have been brewing my black teas at 200F instead of 212F to make them smoother and less bitter, but I accidentally brewed this one at 212F, and I didn't notice any bitterness from the black tea base! Maybe the amazing butterscotch flavor with the hint of chocolate just smoothed out the bitterness, but it was fantastic. I didn't add any sugar, but it was still sweet. I think it would be decadent with sugar. I'm not even a huge butterscotch fan, but this was just delicious. Amazing. Highly recommended.
I was honestly surprised by how sweet and warm this tea was, VERY much like its namesake candy. Strongly recommended.
My hubby drank this one today, he’s a big butterscotch fan. He loved it straight but for me I like it fluffed up a bit with sweetener and creme. Great dessert tea.
4 Sep 2021 review: Today's brew certainly put a spell on me. I opened my CommuniTEA packet and was immediately met with a magical butterscotch aroma straight from a pub in Hogsmeade. I decided to conjure up an Iced Butterbeer Latte, served in my glass mug from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and drizzled with a touch of Caramel. I was so stoked with how it came out. This tea perfectly embodied the smooth, sweet, and creamy flavors of Butterbeer. Also delicious hot, It’s a great desert tea and perfect to ring in the Autumn season.
Aroma of dry tea leaves is of sweet butterscotch. Steeped at 190°F x 2 minutes, and sweetened with a little brown sugar. I found that the butterscotch flavor was overpowered by the black tea, but became more apparent as the tea cooled. I thought that the second steep was better flavored, perhaps because the tea was weaker.
Wonderful and sweet!! This tea brings back butterbeer memories in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park and I’m loving it!! Warm and satisfies a sweet tooth! ☺️
This was such a tasty tea - I'm not a fan of butterscotch normally, but this wasn't a full on butterscotch flavor. Maybe a bad thing if you want those hard candies in your tea, but it's sweet and soft and easy to drink. Loved it!!
I'm often leery of teas described as 'dessert teas.' I appreciate the intent behind the description, but, personally, I'd rather have the tactile sensations of a dessert; sweetness and taste alone aren't enough to satisfy me. That said, this butterscotch tea could hold it's own as a dessert tea. The aroma and flavor are astonishingly spot on. Of course, adding some sugar enhances the caramelly sweetness to this tea. It's still tea, though, and it feels a little thin, but a splash of milk helps round it out a bit. The biggest drawback for many will be that is a fully caffeinated black tea - not something to drink in the evenings before bed when one is often likely to crave a 'light' dessert. (3-4 minutes @ 200F)
This is truly a remarkable flavor. The aroma and flavor instantly transported me back to childhood, those creamy butterscotch candies I used to love. My normal amount of sugar made this too sweet so I suggest starting with no sweetener because the tea is so sweet already, you may not need to add any.
I added a tiny bit of sugar… and loved it. It was sweet, and satisfying. Would be a great dessert alternative. My husband can’t have too much sugar, and he also really enjoyed it- so I’ll probably get a bag for when we want to share a treat!
It's a good tea! If you like to drink syrup.
Upon first brew, I was not a fan. The taste of butterscotch was there, but behind the taste of the tea. And unfortunately, it was a bit too acidic. Although nothing was oversteeped or burnt it was a step away of tasting so.
But then I added a splash of french vanilla oatmilk creamer and a 1/4 tsp of brown sugar. And now...now it's all butterscotch.
I've never been a person who tolerates the VERY sweet, but if you have a sweet tooth that cannot be tamed...this is for you.
Lovely black tea. Buttery, sweet flavors go so well with the honey and chocolate tones of the Ceylon. Butterscotch flavors come forward after adding some honey to sweeten. Also added a few drops of sweet cream which made this so yummy. Wonderful dessert tea that you can get two steeps from. Steeped at 195° for 3.5 mins. Cheers!
From the communiTEA packet, it smells like chocolate toffee. And it tastes like those yellow butterscotch candies.
Wonderful tea that tastes just like butterscotch candies. Dessert tea. Brewed at 212 degrees for 3 minutes.
All I got out of this was black tea. The smell of the tea leaves was butterscotch. I could not taste the butterscotch. UPDATE (9/4/21): I must have had a bad sample the first time I reviewed this. Fortunately, I seemed to have gotten a better Communitea packet or my pallet of teas has improved. Please consider my first review null and void.
Butterscotch scents burst out of today's packet as it was torn open. An abbreviated 3 minute black tea steep at 212°F produced a medium brown black tea with a color reminiscent of amber honey.
Butterscotch flavors are prevalent throughout the brewed tea in aroma and flavor. It's like drinking butterscotch candy without the sweetness and calories! Black Ceylon tea gives it a bold tannin forward base. Hints of caramelized butterscotch mingle with dark cocoa notes from the black tea. A moderate astringency closes out each sip.
Adding a bit of cream and sweetener to this one makes it a decadently flavored dessert tea. Cream brings out more of the buttery aspect, while the sweetener brings it closer to a true butterscotch candy.
To sum it up, this is like butterscotch candy in tea form!
CommuniTEA packet tasting was delightful! I enjoyed this beautiful, sweet tea chilled. The butterscotch flavor was spot on and reminded me of butterscotch candies. Pairing it with black tea and cocoa nibs was a great choice! Happy sipping!
I really enjoyed this tea very hot, but liked it a bit less as it cooled. I prefer my teas sweet, so I did add a bit of raw sugar to it, but less than I do for other flavors (which I'm glad for, it did not need much).
I think the butterscotch flavor was very well done and not overpowering, but it was a bit too one note for me, which is likely why I didn't care for it through the entire cup. There just wasn't much else there to balance the mellow sweetness.
So, overall, a very good tea, great even if you really like butterscotch, but not one I will likely return to, personally.
This tea was a wonderful surprise this morning ! It was better than I could have imagined. The smell and the taste certainly remind me of those yellow wrapped hard candies. I always loved them as a kid. When I became a big kid, I found butterscotch snappes . This tea reminds me of that too . Adding this to my wishlist for sure. Brewed at 195 for 3 mins.
You can really smell the butter scotch and taste it, great Job! (212 @/3 min).
Yum! That great butterscotch aroma as well as taste makes it the perfect low calorie treat when you want something sweet with caffeine. The cocoa nibs add depth without bitterness, as long as it isn’t over steeped.
Though I do like the flavor of this one, it's more chocolate than butterscotch. I love butterscotch, and this just doesn't hit the spot. there is a slight candy sweetness, but it's definitely more chocolate than candy.
UPDATE: I got this in my communitea box this month, so am writing an update. In the bag, chocolate and butterscotch. Sweet candy smell! Once brewed, also chocolate candy butterscitch. Hot and cold, still taste more chocolate than butterscoth, and the flavor is very weak, the tea overpowers the flavors. I like chocolate, but it's not what I expect.
This was a great tea! Everything was well integrated and worked well with each ingredient. I can see this as an occasional supper but it also went well with a breakfast of waffles and maple syrup.
Today's CommuniTea packet was butterscotch, a black tea with apple pieces, cocoa nibs, rose hips, butterscotch flavor and marigold flowers. It smelled like butterscotch, and tasted somewhat like that, but it would probably need some sugar to make the jump. I drank it without sugar, and it was okay. It got better as it got colder. Steeped in 10 ounces of 200 degree water for 3 minutes.
I love this tea! It's slightly tannic with sweet, buttery flavors and undertones of vanilla and chocolate. An absolutely perfect winter tea that I can only imagine having hot. It would go well with cookies!
After steeping for a little over three minutes, I was quick to find a delicious sweet scent of butterscotch. The candies use to be one of favorite treats growing up and that’s what the smell brought me back to. The taste is similar, but not full on butterscotch. I also didn’t add a ton of sweetener, so that might be a factor.
Results are as promised. A black tea that tastes like butterscotch. Can't get much more straightforward than that. Though I would suggest steeping at 200F to cut down on the astringency.
