I’m my favorite list from now on. It makes my home smell so warm and nice.
Sweet, buttery and whimsical flavors are infused into this dessert tea and rounded off with hints of apple, cocoa nibs, and marigold.

I’m my favorite list from now on. It makes my home smell so warm and nice.
Really love the flavors of black tea and butterscotch. Made my cup smell like candy, with a bit of sugar, taste like it, too.
Delicious butterscotch flavor! This one works well in blends as well. I like to add a splash of vanilla creamer!
This is super yummy! Sweet and decadent and very butterscotchy :) I’ll definitely order this again!
The smell is absolutely amazing, and I've been really looking forward to a tea equivalent of hot butterbeer. Unfortunately, the flavor wasn't nearly as strong as the scent, and was kind of disappointing. It's good, I think I may have just over hyped it. But I can't help get disappointed again when I smell butterscotch but don't really get the taste.
Rich butterscotch aroma and flavor. I can't wait to try it with a bit of oatmilk
Incredible, both hot and cold, this sweet full flavor is my new fave! It didn't even need any sweetner!
I love the flavor with a little bit of added sugar!! This is definitely a morning tea, not bitter or overly sweet
Sweet taste with caramel. A little creamy. Strong pleasant smell. Brewed at 212 for 3 minutes, with half and half and splenda.
This tea reminds me of Joni Mitchell’s song Chelsea Morning, when she sings that “the sun poured in like butterscotch, and stuck to all my senses!” The candy-sweet flavor of this tea stuck to my senses and filled me with anticipation of a beautiful day. I added a healthy dose of my own rock sugar to the tea maker and added nothing else. I wonder how this might taste with milk but I usually prefer tea without it and had just the one cup to enjoy. Maybe there will be more of this tea in my stash one day.
Very little flavor but it’s a good one to add to other flavors. It really rounded out the Nutcracker Rooibos!!
A rich, warm, buttery blend to greet me on a cool autumn morning. Why only brew a cup, when you can make a whole pot and share with a friend? This one one of my favorites!
My son loves this tea. He usually asks for it at night when he gets a sweet tooth.
So delicious as the weather gets cooler. I use a little splash of SF coffee syrup. I can taste the butterscotch.
Super rich and lovely flavor that gives you the fix you need to finish your day.
This is a fun flavor, not too complicated. I love these 'sweet' flavors that don't have any actual sweetening in them. Win-win! Unfortunately, it did make me want some actual butterscotch.
So I am a bit torn on this tea. It is what it says it is, its definitely butterscotch in flavor but to me it is almost too much. I personally don't think I would drink this one solo but rather blend it with other teas sparingly for a touch of caramel/butterscotch flavor.
I didn't drink this tea, but instead infused it in butter for baking. It added a wonderful flavor to my cookies and was a big hit!
I bought this as a sampler and I absolutely love it. The flavor of the butterscotch is very stong and tasty. I will be buying more if this flavor. It has become one of my favorites.
I had ordered this earlier as a sample and must say it does not disappoint. The sweetness of the butterscotch with just a hint of the cocoa nibs is Devine. I strongly recommend this if you like butterscotch.
Remember when Dairy Queen had butterscotch for their sundaes? I do, and this tea brought that flavor profile back to me for a bit. I wish it were a bit stronger, but for someone with less of a sweet tooth, this is probably a good balance.
yummy and warm tea. I steeped like all my other black teas
It was a nice tea, but too much for me. I dont like butterscotch most of the time, so the fact that this was tolerable says a lot!
This blend was delightfully decadent with milk and sugar!
This tea has a strong butterscotch flavor and tastes exactly like the candy.
very tasty with some milk and honey. the black tea gives it almost a burnt caramel flavor
Wow! I usually hate flavored black tea but this was amazing. It reminds me of that waffle ceral they used to have in the mid 90s.
This tea is surprisingly good. It’s not something that I ever would have picked out for myself, but I received it in the communitea package and I would definitely buy it in the future. I thought having a butterscotch flavor in a tea would be weird and too sweet, but somehow it works really well.
This is one of my favorites of Adagio's flavored black teas. It's sweet without being cloying, and also mixes well with a lot of other flavors!
This is one of my favorite Adagio flavored teas so it’s surprising I haven’t left a review before! As always I would highly recommend steeping at a lower temperature, anywhere from 190-200F. Black teas in general benefit from this and especially those with a Ceylon base. This is best with sweetener added. Without sweetener the butterscotch flavor is less defined but I’m a sweet tea fan so take that with a grain of salt. ;)
Mild butterscotch flavors and a slight creaminess. No bitterness. Sugar brings out both the butterscotch and a little more creaminess, but the butterscotch is still quite mild. It's a lovely tea, but I want a stronger butterscotch flavor.
lovely sweet smell, tastes smooth and buttery with a it of cocoa!
Fascinating flavors! I brewed it a bit lower in temperature, so I wouldn’t get too energized. I added a hearty pinch of organic Florida crystals and some plant creamer. Yum! An uplifting black tea that is not as sweet as I’d expected, but Wow the buttery flavor! Reminded me of movie popcorn (in a good way).
This doesn't have that butterscotch 'wow' for me that it does for so many of the other reviewers unfortunately! It smells fantastic both dry and brewed, but the flavor is just not there on the tongue.
Black tea flavors are smooth and malty with hints of cocoa. Butterscotch is subtle on the aftertaste, adding a pleasant buttery sweetness. This is a sweet tea, but not cloying or overwhelming - the balance is perfect!
This is a great, flavorful, and smooth tea! I brewed it at 195F for 3 minutes, let it sit a couple of minutes, and then took a sip. It was heaven in a cup! I will put this on my wishlist.
Upon opening the packet, I noted the aroma of butterscotch (shocking, I know).
I added 1.5 tsp of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 190° F. I steeped my tea for 3 minutes. When the tea was finished steeping, I added 1 Tbsp of vanilla almond milk to combat any potential astringency and to make the tea more like a creamy butterscotch.
This tea really does taste like butterscotch and, although my creamy version was nice, it was a bit mild. I tasted some of my Mom’s, which she took black, and I found it to be more flavorful. This is tea that has a flavor that matures and becomes richer as it cools.
Today's CommuniTEA is Butterscotch (9-10-22). Upon opening the packet, I found plenty of marigold pieces, but it was absolutely devoid of cocoa nibs. I added my own cocoa nibs and even some chocolate honey to help with the flavor. It is pleasantly sweet. I must say, most of the time, I do not like butterscotch, but this tea is really good! I would highly recommend this tea! Even if you don't like butterscotch, be sure to give this one a try. I bet you'll like it.
I love butterscotch, and this blend was absolutely wonderful! The cocoa nibs seem to add a bit of a malty flavor, which I also love. I added sugar, of course, and it really made this brew a lovely treat! 3 mins @ 195°F
This tea really lives up to its name. It smells of butterscotch when you open the packet and tastes like butterscotch when you drink it. It’s interesting how the black tea flavor and that bit of bitterness brings the flavor even closer to butterscotch. I added some adagio chocolate honey to my second cup and that was lovely as well.
Nov. 18, 2020 - This tea was so comforting. The aroma takes me back to my grandfathers butterscotch candies. I added a little sugar and cream...it was divine!!!
Update- I still love this tea and the memories it brings.
Recommended steep time and temperature: 3 min @212°F. I steeped for 3 minutes at 190°F to stave off any potential bitterness, which was successful.
I am a big fan of butterscotch so I had high hopes for this tea. It smells amazing upon opening the packet and all ingredients appear to be present. At first sip the butterscotch takes a back seat to the black tea, but it cools very nicely. It ends up being a very smooth and tasty, butterscotchy tea, reminiscent of Worthington Original candies. Yummy. 4.75 stars
I usually start my morning with coffee but was so intrigued by this CommuniTea that I skipped right to dessert! The smell of butterscotch was strong from the packet. The scent was lighter after brewing but the flavor was spot on. I had it straight and enjoyed every sip. A touch of cream and sugar would elevate this further and turn this into a truly decadent butterscotchy dessert.
I imagine that adding a bit of sugar to this tea would make it into a dessert indulgence, but even without any, it tastes like the butterscotch candies I remember. 'Whimsical' is a good word to describe it!
Nice sweet flavor. The first sip tasted the most like butterscotch, after that just a sweet tea.
Butterscotch is a dessert tea, slightly sweet, with a taste reminiscent of those buttery smooth little candies. The cocoa nibs are a nice added taste sensation.
UPDATED from 9/3/20: If you want a sweet treat without the guilt, I recommend this tea. It smells so butterscotch delicious when I open the CommuniTEA packet, and after steeping (at a slightly lower temp) the amber tea did not disappoint. I add ¼ teaspoon of sweetener, a little heavy whipping cream (to 10 oz), and it really helps bring out the buttery sweetness of the butterscotch. There is such a creamy aftertaste that makes my mouth happy. It tastes yummy over ice, too. It is so sweet, it seems decadent. It is high caffeine, but it is a great way to have a sweet treat and NO CALORIES! (3 mins @ 200ºF + sweetener and cream).
This tea has such a nice aroma. It makes me think of my father who loves butterscotch. The butterscotch flavor with a touch of creaminess is amazing.
Very sweet was very surprised but not upset. will add to favorites
Very nice tea. If you have a sensitive palate for flavored black teas, this will definitely be too much (I'd recommend Tiger Eye instead).
