This really does taste like butterscotch!

I like to mix this with milk and sugar to make a butterscotch milk tea.

I’m having trouble finding the perfect ratio of milk to tea, though, as it does turn out more watery than what most milk tea shops sell. I’ve tried steeping the tea longer to make it more concentrated so that it doesn’t get diluted by the milk.

This blend has a creamy and decadent butterscotch aroma. The taste is smooth and rich, with a buttery and caramel flavor from the butterscotch, pair with fruity notes from the apple pieces and chocolate notes of the cocoa nibs. The rose hips and marigold flowers add a touch of floral flavor to the blend, while the black tea adds a hint of bitterness and strength to the blend, giving it a slightly malty character. If you have a sweet tooth and love caramel, you will love this blend. It's a sweet deal!

I enjoyed this for the deep butterscotch flavor, great hot or iced.

Yum! Thia tea is reminiscent of those round butterscotch hard candies, sweet and delicious with a spot of milk.

Initial opening of the package revealed a sweet smell but not like your typical flavored teas. I let it seep for a longer period, 4 minutes, and found not much of any flavor when it is hot. The flavor starts coming through when the temp comes down to around 150 degrees. The tea its self is balanced and smooth, but the actual flavor of butterscotch is light on the front and nothing after that. The transition is quick and it drinks like a black tea. This is something I would not recommend for the lack of flavor.

★★★★☆

One of my favorites of the sort of standard one note flavors. I love both what this gives to blends, and by itself.

★★★★☆

It's got a nice butterscotch-y flavor, but it is subtle, not over-the-top about it. Which might be what you like, or you might find it not strong enough.

★★★★★

Absolutely Love this tea. Taste just like a butterscotch candy when you add some honey. Ordering again!

Yummy yummy for a sweet sip without sugar! I couldn't drink this as my daily tea but I thoroughly enjoyed it as my holiday treat.

★★☆☆☆

this was not a good experience for me. very harsh flavor. tried it hot and cold did not work either way.

So the bag smells great but I just couldn't get anything with the tea. I followed the advice laid out in other reviews but not for me. Maybe better blended with something else?

★★★★★

Favorite black tea so far. Really saturated flavor and I even enjoyed a second steep with this one for slightly longer. Will purchase again!

Update: I changed the steep time to 5 minutes, and it tastes better. I wish it tasted as good as it smelled, but it's an improvement to the original 3 minute steep time.

I was hoping for more flavor, but it tasted a little astringenty to me. I might try steeping for five minutes, and will update if it tastes more flavorful for me. I don't like to add anything to my teas, but might be what I need to do with this one.
The smell is amazing though!

Tastes not quite like the candies my grandmother used to give me, but enjoyable nonetheless. Added a splash of milk and 1 packet of Truvia and 1 of sugar.

This has a nice sweet flavor. It is good by itself or mixed with others to add some sweetness and flavor.

★★★★★

I’m not huge on black blends but this is very very smooth and has a great caramel flavor - not artificial or cloying.

★★★★★

Wonderful! This tea has a great black tea base and a wonderful Butterscotch flavor. It is well balanced and a slightly sweet character. If you like Butterscotch you owe it to yourself to try it!

Exactly as advertised- added a bit of sweetener and it was like drinking a hard candy in the best way.

Good, but you need to add sugar. Nothing wrong with the tea, but every unsweetened tea that is made to taste like it *should* be sweet will run into this.

Definitely great, the butterscotch flavor is mild so if you want a milder flavor, either way great blend

The smell was what I expected for this tea. Once brewed the flavor was not quite as strong as I expected based on the smell, but I still really enjoyed the cup of tea.

Great tea. You can definitely taste a bit of butterscotch in it

This is my go to tea when I'm wanting dessert in a cup! I use a little sugar and whipped cream when brewing this one. The butterscotch flavor is so good!

★★★★☆

First, I think I over brewed this tea. It was only for a minute longer than needed, but it was a minute too late as it came out quite a bit bitter on sipping. Even with over brewing though, this was quite a nice tea where the flavor shines in the aftertaste. There is a lingering of almost caramel-like butterscotch flavor after taking a sip that stays with you quite some time after the tea is gone. If I can perfect brewing this without the bitterness, I would pick this tea to serve to guests for breakfast or brunch (with pancakes, or French toast).

Good and sweet. The butterscotch flavor wasn't as strong as I would have hoped. It's very similar to the caramel tea.

If you love anything butterscotch you will love this tea. It tastes just like a butterscotch candy. Very nostalgic for me I love it so much.

This good cab definitely taste the butterscotch, but wish it was a tad more with butterscotch

I liked it! The rose hips added a little tang that I didn't find very butterscotch-y, and although it smells very strongly of butterscotch the flavor once brewed is much more mild.

★★★★☆

This tastes like it should, given its name. It's not an every day tea, but it's an enjoyable treat that will remind you of butterscotch hard candies.

★★★★★

This is one of my favorites, smooth and buttery! I will definitely reorder!

I love butterscotch and this did not disappoint! Can’t wait to try this with some cream and sweetener as I think it will be a delightful dessert treat!

The butterscotch in this tea is more of an aftertaste, at least when drunk hot. The black tea takes front and center in this tea, but the butterscotch peaks around the corner as you take sips. It leaves a lingering aftertaste, very much akin to the werthers originals in your grandmother's candy stash. A lovely choice if you want to trick your brain into wondering if you found a rare butterscotch earlier in the day.

What can I say? This is exactly what you'd expect: black tea with a strong butterscotch smell and flavor.

Full and comforting taste. I prefer it with just a touch of cream. It is nice, but felt a bit heavy. Could only drink one cup.

This tea has a very strong butterscotch scent and flavor that make for the perfect tea for dessert!

★★★☆☆

Boy I wanted to love this one, but it just didn't happen. It's a nice basic sweet tea, but I'm missing any actual flavor- it just tastes like a tea that I've already added sugar to and nothing more. I was hoping this would be a great latte tea but I get even less flavor there. I'll finish the trial bag but I doubt I'll reorder for a while.

If you like butterscotch flavor, this is the tea for you! It has the flavor without the cloying sweetness.

I like this tea with milk to bring out the butterscotch. I also like how it is different from just a caramel tea, there is more vanilla to it.

★★★★★

This tea has a delicious aroma. I was hesitant to try it because I thought it would taste artificial. It has a warm, pleasant, buttery butterscotch flavor. I will probably buy the 3 oz bag instead of the sample next time. Yum!

Nice after dinner tea with the slight hints of sweetness. The smell is amazing. Staying within the 3 minute steep time is best, gets a little bitter when going longer.

I love butterscotch and added a bit of monk fruit to sweeten. The perfect guilt-free dessert. This tea also mixes well with many others. Give it a try.

Update 7/2023 - It is sweeter when iced (w/ milk). Think I might add a touch of sweetener next time I have it hot (w/ milk).
I love this tea! Great flavor and a good amount of sweetness built in to the tea. Definitely don't need to add sugar - it's great as is. Really like it both hot and iced with milk. Ordering more!

Butterscotch truly tastes like a liquid guilt- and calorie-free hot candy. Amazing desert tea to enjoy in the afternoon.

The aroma is incredible, as my daughter noted. It smells like butter pecan syrup. Thankfully it’s not that sweet on tasting. Perfect tea if you want a hint of sweetness and a punch of butter scotch sent. Definitely need to try it on ice.

This really does taste like butterscotch. I cold brew it for iced tea, and I don't even need sugar in it. It's great on its own, but if the butterscotch flavor is too strong for you, mixing it with Adagio's vanilla tea softens the flavor while still letting it come through. This is going in my regular rotation of teas.

Ok if you like Butterscotch. Wanted to try something different, glad I got the sample size, not a big fan.
