White Symphony Customer Reviews

A delicate tea made from tea buds collected and withered prior to opening. It creates a pale yellow, light-bodied, yet complex cup with hints of honeydew and a faint floral sweetness.

White teas are the pinnacle of tea, in my opinion, and White Symphony doesn't disappoint. Silver Needle is still my favorite, but this tea has good body, a peachy nectar, and a nice finish that is great for the price.

This very much an exquisite tea, indeed somewhat resembling Pai Mu Tan but delightfully more complex, and more enjoyable because of that. The aroma and flavor are wonderfully layered with warmed sugar-floral tones and sweet honeydew. The mouthfeel is softer than White Peony, with significantly less astringency and no unpleasant bitter tones. An outstanding tea.

Very light but certainly not flavorless. Not a morning cup, but good for mid afternoon or evening.

★★★☆☆

This white tea was ok, just not as sweet as I thought it would be. I give a 3/5.

Very nice flavor. It is a calm tea that does not shout to your taste buds.

★★★★☆

a tea to be enjoyed when there are no distractions to keep you from enjoying the subtelties

★★★★★

My favorite of the white teas, just the slightest sweetness to it, and perfectly crisp. I highly recommend this tea to anyone wanting to try white tea, you will surely find this one to be refreshing!

★★★★★

White symphony is light, nectar-y, a perfect mix of fruit and floral flavors.

★★★★★

Probably my second favorite tea. I love the hint of floral taste in it.

★★★★★

My favorite tea hands down. I don't sweeten it, it doesn't need it. It's light enough to accompany a meal but strong enough to be iced and still be flavorful.

★★★☆☆

This tea was fine for me, but it wasn't anything spectacular. I might not have the advanced palate necessary to taste all the subtle flavors because it tasted a little plain to me. I do think it's a nice tea if you're wanting something light but still warm and comforting. I might try steeping it longer to see if I can get more of the flavor out.

This was very good. Mild and sweet and refreshing. Some whites I have tried taste a bit like water that vegetables were boiled in. Not this though. I will definitely buy more of this

★★★★★

I will be following this sample pack with an order for 6oz bag, a beautiful tea.

I have noticed with this tea, that steeping for longer periods of time bring out the peony flavor. I steeped at various temps and times and find that two teaspoons, in 10-16 oz of water, at 180, for 4 min first steep is the best flavor. This gives the fruity silver needle flavor without the strong stick-like flavor of the peony. I add 30 sec for the next infusions, but never go over 5 min.

sweet fruity goodness. They left 'love, and happiness' out of the ingredients list though... but I can assure you, they are in there.

Just ordered more in bulk. This tea is amazing. I would put this along side of silver needle as far as how much i enjoy this tea. Plus, the price is very very good. I find this tea much better than the white peony. ant really believe the price for such an amazing tea. I recomend this tea very highly. I think i may be in love with it.

A truly great tea, full of flavor with a smooth texture, a definite favorite of mine.

it was a nice light white tea, not very memorable tho.

★★★★☆

Very light and delicate. It has a lovely flavor, once it seeps long enough.

Very nice, but a little too grassy for my expectations of a white tea. Prefer silver needle.

pretty basic. just tastes like plain old tea. does not match it's discription of hints of honeydew and a faint floral sweetness. overall, not bad though.

★★★★★

I have to say I'm really impressed by this tea. I have tasted MANY white teas and this one definitely stands out with its natural sweetness and complex flavor profile. I just can't stop sipping it! My all time favorite white is the Malawi White Twig Reserve (get this one in stock, Adagio!), and this one is right up there with it.

White symphony is symphonically delightful. I had been paying extra for silver needle as my afternoon tea, but no longer. This one has the same hay smell out of the bag, but the nose of the steeped tea has some sweet notes which fade slightly if you resteep it. The beautiful large leaves let you know it is a quality tea, and the taste is just a bit more imposing than Silver Needle, but not as floral White Peony. This tea is a delight to consume and has the same buttery finish as Silver Needle. I can see myself drinking this one for a long time to come.

I find this better than (Silver Needles). The leaves give this some spine, and all the delicate but PP RENT flavours of the bud only (Silver Needles) are present in this. Terrific white which has a broader spectrum of fresh oxidization flavours but still maintains a creamy butterlike smoothness.

★★★★☆

elicate, subtle and refreshing on the palate. lean, sophisticated aroma. Makes a lovely iced tea. This is one I will definitely re-order.

Light, mellow, smooth, delicate, and a bit flowery. This is a very relaxing tea.

★★★★☆

This is the first white tea I've had so maybe it's drinking other types that somehow affected how I tasted it. I thought it was good, but it was weak. Maybe that's what to expect from a white tea, in which case spot on. I'll try some of the other samples of white tea I got and compare. Even though it seemed weak, it did taste good and is a good tea to drink when you are sensitive to caffeine. ( s opposed to black tea).

This tea makes me think of a nice peaceful place, maybe with snow-capped mountains in the distance and a meadow stretching out below.

★★★★★

A very delicate tea with a fruity after taste. Used a little over 2 tsp per 8oz of H20 and goes great with a blueberry or raspberry scone!

Very tasty white. It is delicate but has a lot of flavor.

★★★★☆

Probably the better of the classic white tea selections.

★★★★★

Really enjoyable white tea. Smilar to white peony, delicate, tasty, nice flavor with hints of flowers. I enjoy this one much more than white monkey for the sole reason that it tastes great.

This tea is exactly as described. It is a clean white, very similar to Silver Needles, but with hints and tones not found elsewhere.

★★★★★

Lovely, delicate white tea! It's been a while since I have purchased a pure (unflavored) white tea and this was because none of them tasted good. White Symphony, however, has a very smooth, pleasant taste! Worth the extra cost!

★★★★★

I like this tea it is not bad at all, but i find it similar in taste to white peony.

★★★★☆

I'm sad to say this tea disappointed me a little bit. Don't get wrong, I still enjoyed my cup and it's a great, light white tea, I just expected a little more. Maybe I haven't had enough white tea to be able to taste the complexity of the flavor, because to me it just tasted like a classic white tea, no nectarine or honeydew. Still a good cup, just not what I expected. Maybe I'll think differently if I try White Peony.

★★★★★

Silver Needle has been one of my favorites but it is cost prohibitive for me in any size other than a sample. I decided to try all of Adagio's white teas in an effort to find a more affordable replacement. I tried White Peony and while good, it just didn't have the sweetness and fruitiness that I experienced with Silver Needle. White Symphony however is a perfect alternative. It has the sweet, sugary fruitiness of Silver Needle but is more complex with an almost nutty undertone (almost like warm oats). I found it very soothing and relaxing (sipping some now) and will definitely be buying more soon.

★☆☆☆☆

Personally I did not like this tea at all. I'm not entirely sure what a good plain white tea should taste like seeing as I've only had Jasmine Silver Needles and a flavored white tea in the bagged variety. At a 2 minute brew it was tolerable, but when brewed 4 minutes the taste was unbearable. After a single sip I had to pour out my cup. I suggest buying a sampler, unless you know what to expect.

one of my favorite simple, go to white teas. It always hits the spot when I am not sure what white tea to pick

★★★★★

I really enjoyed this tea though I have yet to try white peony. I usually don't care for anything florally in flavor but this tea was subtle enough to have me going back for seconds.

A pleasent tea that doesnt have to much of a kick, excellent tea for beginners to enjoy

★★★★★

Great stuff! More strongly flavored than silver needles yet still delicate, and also inexpensive enough to use in homemade blends.

A Great White Tea with a hint of sweetness, some floral notes and very reminiscent of Silver Needle but with more going on. This is one of the 3 favorite teas and unfortunately very difficult to obtain. If you have a chance to obtain some, order enough to keep you for a while.

It has a light flavor but after steeping it a few more minutes to get a little bit of a stronger brew going on.

I really like White Peony, but it is not available,so I tried this one and am very happy. Not as fruity, but not bitter at all.Very smooth and floral.Good to mix with other teas. Not overpowering.

★★★★★

Steeped 2.0 grams of white symphony in 180 degree water for 4 minutes. Used 6oz of water. Resulting liquor is golden yellow with a slightly floral aroma. Flavor took me by surprise. I assumed it was going to be a lower quality than silver needle but I was wrong. The flavor is wonderful. Tastes like warm, sweet peach nectar. The cup I am drinking now has very little astringency and no bitterness. This is a great cup of white tea! Cannot wait to make more tomorrow! I'm sure this will be good for at least a total of 3, if not 4, infusions! Light, refreshing, clean mouthfeel. Wonderful!

As others have said, if you like white peony, you should like this too. It's pretty subtle, so it mixes well with other teas and is a great tea to have iced if you're drinking it in large quantities throughout a hot day.

★★★★☆

I thought this was a very nice white green. It was very smooth and had good flavors and I was sad when the sample pack was empty letting me know it is definitely a keeper for now. I'm looking forward to my next shipment.

★★★☆☆

I probably don't have the hang of white teas yet, so I couldn't get the subtle nuances with this. But it does seem like a good enough place for a beginner to start with
