The flavor is really delicate, and I felt it was very... nothing.
White tea from Fujian, China. White Peony, also known as Pai Mu Tan, is a sweet, mild tea made from unopened tea buds, as well as the two newest leaves to sprout. Warm and floral like fruit blossoms. Golden liquor, succulent floral-fruit flavor.

The flavor is really delicate, and I felt it was very... nothing.
This has such a light dainty flavor which I am a big fan of when I drink it. I also use this to make kombucha, and the batches have been especially delightful.
Oh, what a nice subtle flowery flavor, one of the best white teas I've tried. Definitely recommend it on a nice spring evening.
The tea itself is fine, but I found a large strip of plastic and some different colored fabric threads mixed in with my tea. Little disappointed at that.
I use this mainly to mix with black tea for Kombucha brewing. I can tell this is very healthy tea because of how well it brews. It tastes excellent as well.
A beautiful, soft white tea with a bright flavor. I love to sip in the afternoon to brighten up 2 pm
I LOVED this tea! It's my first white tea and I was extra careful about the steeping temp/time but it came out beautifully. The smell is subtle and you do need to actually use 2 teaspoons per cup because of the way the leaves are dried. The flavor was floral without being overpowering, quietly grassy, and very very clean.
One of my all favorite white teas, just below Bao Hai Yin Zhen in my opinion. However, bai mu dan is reminiscent in flavor to the silver needles as there are white haired buds in it. Can not go wrong, would recommend the white symphony version if you enjoy this.
I love this tea! It is very comforting, mild taste but wonderful.
This is an elegant, subtle tea. Hints of honey, florals. Lovely evening tea.
This is a really good tea. I really like it a lot.
One of my all-time favorite teas. Buttery smooth, fruity, floral, bright, luxurious, and indulgent. I'd give this one more than 5 stars if it were an option.
This is my cup of tea! I love white tea, but I also love strong tea.. these two aspects typically don't go hand-in-hand but this tea is the exception. Very bold white tea flavor and highly enjoyable to drink. I only wish they had a 3oz option because the 1oz is a bit pricey for the size and the 8oz pack is more than I need.
Good flavor, but I enjoyed it stronger than recommended. At first sip, I thought it might need some sweetener, but ended up finishing the cup without it.
I'm usually not a huge fan of white teas, but this one I love. Very bright and bold
Very subtle floral notes, I love mixing this w/ very little dewy cherry.
Not overly formal but nice light white tea base, wonderful for spring
This tea is a subtle one, but not at all without substance. It's fruity and floral like sweet citrus blossoms, with a juicy mouthfeel. The astringency is just a touch stronger than one might expect from a delicate tea, and it's not the most complex or layered in flavor, but it's still quite enjoyable all the same.
White Peony has become one of my favorites. It has a light taste and it is very relaxing with all that is going on in the world at this time. I sent a sample to my Daughter in Germany (she s the one that shops in my pantry when back home).
A very nice white tea! I don't have a lot of experience with white teas, and this was a good introduction. It has a very subtle, light flavor. I steeped it a second time at the same temp/duration and it was still good, though of course, a little bit more bitter.
I like this tea in the P.MIt astes good and does not bother my sleeping.
I absolutely love this tea! It has the nice delicate flavor that you want from a white tea, and it never fails to make me feel better when I'm having a rough day.
Very pleasant white tea blend, perfect for afternoon and early evenings.
I love white teas, and this one brings out all the natural sweetness with no unnecessary added flavors.
Soft, gentle, loving cup of tea. I got a huge bag by accident but I have no regrets!
Well, when I opened up the package I didn't notice much of a smell at all. When I scooped the leaves out, they sort of looked like crunched up leaves from the yard. Nothing like the picture. I made the tea exactly as the instructions said to. When I tasted it, I didn't notice much of a taste at all. It was almost just like the tea was re-steeped 4 times leaving just hot water.
Update: This tea seems to have grown on me immensely and now I'm going to be purchasing a much larger bag.
a nice light tea that has become my evening favorite
soft, easy to drink tea, great flavor. this tea makes me smile:) so enjoyable..sit on your porch and take it in..really, really good tea...
I finally opened this bag. It's a great tea to drink. I like to alternate amongst the seasons. This could very well be my preferred white tea for Spring as it is light and mild as a floral tea when compared to chamomile, rose, lavender, and jasmine. Those who don't like floral teas might actually like this one.
Very mild and pleasant to drink. Could be an everyday tea. Easily brewed a second pot with no noticable loss of flavor.
Exquisite. I love white tea and this is the sort I fell in love with. It's the sort of tea I d expect to get at a nice, fancy Asian restaurant. There is a gentle mineral aftertaste, but it's predominantly floral. It's a light, airy tea, but not at all weak in flavor. The vegetal elements that work well for me in some teas but not others are largely absent from White Peony, happily. This allows a sublime mingling of floral and deep earthy tones to come through with austere clarity.
The liquor is a beautiful golden color, without any red or brown or green to it. I let it steep longer than I meant to, but it's very forgiving and the flavor isn't even slightly impaired by that slip. It's a warm amber cup, exactly the sort of thing I want for meditation, sophisticated meals, and seeking comfort from the cold and weariness. Especially for the price, it's wonderful and I will definitely buy again when my sample pack is empty.
EDIT: And oh, did I ever! White Peony has become a favorite of mine, both by itself and as an ingredient in blends with floral and fruity inclusions. I especially like it in what I think of as my 'summer teas,' which are blended for the specific purpose of being cold-brewed overnight, or even for a few days, in one's refrigerator, and drunk as cold as possible as a way to relieve the summer heat. White teas in general work great for this, and White Peony has become my blend base of choice for this purpose. If you take a look at my profile, and the blends I've made on Adagio, a number of them include White Peony. I never have less than a 1oz bag of this in my tea collection at any given time.
Delicately sweet taste; I can drink this straight. It's my first 'grownup' white tea--I'd only ever had the overpoweringly jasmined tea one might find in a Chinese restaurant, so I'm very pleasantly surprised.
Smooth and soft. Relatively simple, but has a lot of subtle notes to it. Very mild floral notes, maybe a touch of grass. It has a very faint fruit and earth notes to it. I agree with the website description that the sweetness is similar to melon. Very low bitterness and astringency. If you find the flavor/aroma to weak, then try increasing your leaf ratio first instead of increasing steep time.
Light and refreshing! It's easy to brew a pot and it does not get bitter like some other white teas.
I think I'm doing white tea wrong, but this was just too subtle for me. I had a hard time tasting anything at all.
My favorite! It is so subtle at first, but the more you drink, the more the delicate flavors emerge and hug your taste buds! It is a fragile but gorgeous tea, especially if you like subtlety at first.
Hated this tea because it tasted so earthy and meh.
I've seen this tea blend sold at a really cute coffee shop by UNC Chapel Hill and tracked it down to Adagio. It's a very floral and light tea that I would recommend for a light afternoon moment. The scent is amazing and when used with regular white cane sugar, the body of the tea comes out!
I ve always been partial to black teas and never ventured to try white teas before I chose this as a sample to an order. The peony was subtle but fragrant, and it turned me on to a whole new variety of teas. I quickly added a full-size bag to my next order!
I really love this tea but find I need to use a lot more than recommended to bring out the floral taste
Very subtle flavors makes for a nice relaxing cup of white tea!
Not really very good, I was hoping for alot more from this then I received.
Just another white tea. Pleasant, light, mild and nothing particularly special.
Another great white tea from Adagio. I love unflavored white tea, which can be hard to find in the stores near me so am happy to order from a reputable online purveyor like Adagio.
We enjoy mild flavours, so I ordered and thought we would like this. It's a bit too mild, so we now are using the rest as a mild base for heavier handed blends we have to use up from another tea company... waste not want not 🙂
I like the clean taste. It was well worth stocking up on, although you this not my favorite selection from my Adagio tea selections.
Extremely subtle flavor, not my favorite white tea.
Brought this tea a few months ago, I wanted to tryo different white teas - for me it was just okay. A friend of mine loved it, so I will be giving her the rest of it.
My favorite iced tea, I drink it every day. A very refreshing, almost sweet taste when iced, but still carries enough tea flavor to not be bland. I make it in a 2 quart pitcher with 6 tablespoons of tea.
Delicious and elegant tea! My husband’s favorite.
