This tea keeps you on your toes. On the first steep, I got earthy, mildly grassy, floral notes from it. If not told differently, I would have guessed this was a green tea. Based on the first steep, it was a 'meh' for me and I would not purchase it to drink plain. However, I feel like the second steep is a completely different cup 'o tea. The grassy notes were less noticeable, which was a win for me. I finally got hints of the fruity melon sweetness that the description promised, which only became more and more noticeable as the tea cooled. I would say both steeps were flavorful, light, and delicate; and somehow each having a completely different flavor profile - I've never had a tea taste so different from one steep to the next. Soft, warm, buttery. This tea feels like the younger cousin to some jasmine teas I love, but I'm learning that I prefer a more robust flavor profile over white teas. Still, there's nothing wrong with it--it's a very relaxing and approachable tea, and I bet it'd be as good iced as it is warm. I wouldn't say no if someone offered me a cup by any means, it's just not something I'm going to be purchasing on its own.

A nice, delicate tea to curl up with. Despite the lightness of the tea the flavors are noticable and the finish is smooth

★★★★☆

The dry leaf smell was very reminiscent of, well, dry leaves. Like the start of Autumn; when green is just starting to turn to brown. The tea itself has a mild flavor that a bit of sugar helps bring out more. A better 'light' tea than the Green Pekoe a few days back in CommuniTea - that had no flavor for me. This White Peony I can actually taste and appreciate the subtleness. ... 1st steep: 3min @ 180-190°F .. 2nd steep: 4min @ 180-190°F.

Not as sweet as silver needle, and with a slightly stronger taste. Little bit astringent, but very good, and worthy of multiple steeps.

Lovely, sweet and light tea. Perfect tea for when you want to relax after a busy day.

Not sure I've ever had a white tea. This was very light. Had a fruity flavor rather than the floral one I was expecting. Tastes a bit like honeydew. I expected the flavor to be darker since the tea itself was a deep amber color. Very nice.

If you're in the mood for a soft-flavored tea with a cool, mildly effervescent mouthfeel, this one is absolutely for you. I'm not normally big on teas with such a subtle flavor, but I actually really enjoy this one!

This was just ok for me, definitely not one for the collection

Beautiful wispy silvery buds and lightly oxidized leaves were noted in my communiTEA packet. They looked so delicate that I was afraid they might float away. So I got ‘em into my steeper forthwith!

When hot, I was presented with a wonderful golden colored liquor in my cup. Mild woody flavors were noted. When warm, mild and pleasant sweetcorn flavors were noted. Mild woody flavors continued. Smooth, but not buttery tastes were noted on the tongue. This is the first time I’ve tasted a white without a buttery mouthfeel ... interesting! Slight mineral tastes were noted towards finish. Second and third steeps were just as flavorful! This was a very clean, delicate and tasty sip to be savored slowly. (1st steep: 3 mins/Subsequent steeps: 1 min 30 secs @ 185ºF, no sugar)

The tea has a really smooth flavor and no bitterness even in the aftertaste. It is a sweeter tea but doesn't have any saccharine taste to it. The flavor is mild but noticeable.

★★★★★

I really love this tea, it's light and crisp. It's not overpowering floral either

Nice light white tea, delicate and a little bit sweet. I prefer it iced, cold infused.

★★★☆☆

Very assertive aromas which are consistent through multiple steepings, and somewhat temperamental to brew. Pleasantly floral and grassy when brewed just right. Quite sensitive to higher temperatures and over-steeping, which will bring out unpleasant degrees of astringency and bitterness.

Subtle and sweet. Definitely a favorite. I love the bare hint of a mineral aftertaste.

This is great as a single brew tea. Light, floral, slightly sweet. It seems a bit too delicate for a second brew though, so the price per cup jumps for me.

Super good tea, I can’t quite describe the notes or all that, but I really like it! Nothing too in your face, but I actually don’t understand some of the other reviews saying that they can barely taste it-I’ve been able to rebrew up to 5 times and only on the 4th or 5th cup is when there’s a substantial loss in flavor.

★★★★★

A very clean taste but slightly bland. I almost always add fruit.

Mixed it to make my own larger bit of Ariettea, a studio ghibli inspired tea, and it rounds out the flavor quite well.

Didn't like this tea at all. Didn't give me the flavor.

Overall a nice white tea, exactly as pictured and described - no surprises here.

Standard good quality white tea. If I try hard, I can taste hints of apricots. Strong terpene aroma. Less expensive alternative to Silver Needle, and my palate is not sophisticated enough to note the difference.

I just love white tea. This right here is a perfect standard for good white tea. It has a lovely subtle flavor. Even despite the softness of the flavor, these leaves can be brewed several times, just make sure you don t use boiling water! Brew these leaves in slightly less hot water, about 180 degrees Fahrenheit as Adagio recommends. White tea makes for fantastically refreshing iced tea, as well.

very light, not the best flavor in my opinion, anything you add - sugar, lemon, milk - seems to overpower it

Really enjoyed this white tea. It's light, sweet, and subtle without being too weak (I usually find whites to be a bit lacking).

This is a fantastic starter tea if you're wanting to get into white teas. It's subtle and delicate, lightly sweet and floral with a hint of honeydew melon and a silky smooth body. My favorite way to brew it is at a slightly higher temperature which I find coaxes out more of the sugary melon aroma, and to savor it over multiple infusions with a high leaf to water ratio. It's a great one to play around with brewing methods to find what you like and was delicious every time I made it. Will definitely be buying the biggest bag they have!

White peony has an unmistakably smoky flavor that sends your thoughts far away.
Unfortunately, this taste lasts only the first brew, and it degrades quickly afterwards. Oh wel, that first brew is very well worth it.

A very soft, VERY light flowery tea. Not so much my taste — I like a bit bolder. I was expecting the peony to come out a bit more.
