This one was ok to me. It might not have been the best option for me to try cold steeping for the first time. It turned out fine, just very light and almost like flavored floral water so I questioned rather I steeped it long enough. The taste was light and fresh with floral notes. I didn't really taste the sweet melon notes the description spoke of.

The scent and taste of today's communiTEA sample is a little grassy. It's not what I was expecting. The second steep is a bit floral and fruity.

Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. This tea is fine. It tastes like a really weak black tea to me. I prefer bolder flavors and don't usually drink white teas. I'd probably enjoy this more in a blend.

Todays CT just didn’t do it for me. I’m not a huge fan of green tea, but there are a number I do like so I was eager to try this one. I didn’t mind the lightness of it, but mine also had a faint vegetal taste, which I don’t like. The aroma was lovely but the floral hint didn’t come through in the steep. Overall not a bad tea, just not my thing. (175° for 3 minutes)

White teas are often too delicate for me. This one had a good bit of flavor and body.

The aroma of this tea is a bit grassy, but with floral notes. The flavor is light but it has a delicate floral and fruity finish. This is a lovely cup of tea!

I had only had this tea in blends before today’s CT portion pack. This is a lovely, delicate white tea with a subtle, fruity flavor when I add just a small drop of raw honey for green and white tea. I steeped at 180 degrees for 3 minutes and got 3 delicious small cups from my gaiwan.

This tea was okay - had a kind of grassy taste to it in my opinion. I tend to be a flavored tea enjoyer so plain isn’t my top choice. CT 1.75 g at 175. 3-3-23

An incredibly light blend where the flavours might come through more if it's coldbrewed. When hot, there's a fleeting hint of fruit - almost melon? Cantaloupe is what came to mind, oddly enough - and a tad more floral front. Again, however, it's very light.

I love white teas, and this one is just - totally gentle - it's a pleasing , barely-there floral. Perfectly balanced and just the right amount of flavor.

I have this in my stash but have never reviewed it. It must have been a gift. Very smooth white tea. It's on the light side, which I say about all white teas. Still an enjoyable cup for sure.

There is nothing wrong with this tea. It is a very light tea flower citrus flavor. A little too light. Perhaps more tea is need for an 8oz seep than 1tsp.

This tea has very delicate, slightly fruity and floral flavors. It holds up well for several steepings. If you don't like the grassiness of green teas, give this one a try! It's delicious!

If you're looking for a straightforward white tea, look no further! White Peony has a very subtle floral flavor, but the prominent note is always the tea itself. It's become a staple in my cupboard for when I just want a simple cup of tea.

CommuniTEA portion: 180 for 2 minutes. Very nice tea. Smooth, slightly floral, slightly fruity - just a nice blend of both. I can see cold steeping this and drinking it by the gallon!

Let there be Light White Tea! A beautiful floral wonder, is glorious White Peony. Uplifts in vibe, delights the senses and is a refreshment both Hot or Cold. ((4 mins @ 175°, no additives needed, imo))

This tea is very mild and isn't very flavorful. It has a light aroma and was pleasant enough to drink, but I prefer stronger flavors.

This tea was a roller coaster ride for me. At first sip I didn’t like it. But then as it cooled and the floral flavor emerged I kinda enjoyed that. Then the taste of melon appeared and I didn’t like that. Overall, this is a subtle tasting tea but what I was picking up didn’t resonate with me. I’ll pass.

White and light, this tea had a hay-like smell in the packet. When steeped, it took in subtle green and floral flavors. I'm still learning to slow down and enjoy white tea flavors. They're oh so soft...

This is a lovely little white. It has a creamy mouthfeel that can’t be beat. It’s just very satisfying to sip. The scent is a musty floral and the sip offers up light jasmine-esque notes with a hint of something warmer on the back end, like stewed fruit. If you like aggressive notes in your cup or heartier brews, this probably isn’t the tea for you. However, I love a delicate drinker, so I’ll happily sip away! Happy Sipping!

White teas brought me over to specialty teas: I love them, so I'm perhaps a bit biased here. I love the light, simple taste. This tea is definitely one of the simpler ones and that can translate to tasteless for some. It has a very light, almost grassy note and I can taste in this tea how a white tea is sort of a light green tea. However, the younger buds and leaves leave a much lighter (I guess floral, though that's not the word I would naturally pick) 'nose,' mouthfeel and taste that I, personally, love although I don't like green tea.

UPDATED from 11/20/20: There is a slight green smell arising from the withered green and white leaves in the CommuniTEA packet. After brewing there is a scent of sweet wet grass emitting from the now open leaves. The tea is a light, golden elixir. The taste is mild and grassy - like fresh grass in the spring. Crisp, clean, refreshingly smooth mouthfeel with a slight, gentle melony taste in the background. There is a little astringency on the finish, as if to say, “ta-ta - remember me!” As it cools some mellow floral notes arise, revealing this tea is complex. With no bitterness, the delicate and delightful flavor invites the drinker to imbibe more and more. Three successful steeps. (3 mins @ 180ºF).

This is a very delicate and herby tea. It would be very good mixed with other teas, as the flavor is very slight.

Normally, I dislike white tea for being too delicate in flavor. That is partly true here as well. I detected a faint hint of sweetness, some savory, but no floral notes, which was disappointing considering the name of this tea.

This is a simple, clean tea and I enjoy it. Nothing fancy going on here, just a touch of floral quality, but not enough to be perfumy. It could definitely be a beautiful base tea for blending, as well.

In the bag: Just the flat, forest green leaves of tea. The leaves are large and flat. Either much breakdown occurred during transit or only some of the leaves were roughly chopped.
On the nose (pre-steep): Wet, woody grass, like reeds on the side of a river in spring. Hints of must and salt.
On the nose (post-steep): Same grassy scent from pre-steep but faint. No more must or salt. Not intense.
On the tongue: Clean, wet grass. Light body. Not intense. No astringency.
Opinion: A decent tea but not one that I will crave. It's plain and the flavor isn't terribly appealing. Usual caveat: I'm not typically a fan of unflavored teas or of white teas, so keep that bias in mind.
Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 175 ℉. No sweetener.

I think my palette is not sophisticated enough for white tea. It is just too light for me although this one has a bit more flavor than others I have tried.

An enjoyable cup of tea, but perhaps a little too subtle for me. Very, very nice when sweetened with honey. Will probably order more, but won't make it a staple.

The White Peony that Adagio has been selling recently is much better than it was a couple of years ago. It is light, but still full of flavor. I keep the tea leaves that I steeped and use them with slices of ginger to make tea in the afternoon. I hope that Adagio can keep their most recent supplier as it is substantially better than a couple of years ago.

Judging by price per cup, availability as a blend tea, and customer ratings, I'd say this unflavored white tea isn't the fanciest available. Nonetheless, I like it. I love the big leaves. Also, some of the white teas are picked at the extra young/tender stage, but the downside of that is the flavor is VERY mild/subtle. I like my tea to have a tea taste, so this rates higher for me that some of the others-- a matter of individual preference. I usually steep at 170 degrees for 3 minutes unless I'm combining the white tea with green. In that case I'll go with 180 degrees for 2-3 minutes.

I'd decided I didn't like white teas because they seemed too sweet and there didn't seem to be much of a 'tea' flavor. Well, changed my mind. Last time I ordered a number of samples of white tea flavors and I liked them a lot. This one is particularly lovely. Yes, there is a sweetness but it isn't overpowering—just seems to be natural and fitting to what I would think a gorgeous peony would taste like. I find it very refreshing.

I may be updating this review after I do a little more research into white peony tea.
The scent is great. The taste, wonderful, exactly what I had expected. But man, there are a LOT of woody stems in the bag I ordered. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, and I'm saving the stems to do a little brewing experiment when I get some free time. I think there needs to be just a little more quality control with this tea, since I definitely prefer more leaves.
