When opening the CommuniTea packet, the smell of grapefruit was strong. Ugh, I don't care for grapefruit but this is all about trying something new. After brewing, the scent was lighter with a touch of sweet orange poking through. The taste was also light and palatable. I was able to sip this tea hot and cold without making my sour face. Quite a feat considering my aversion to grapefruit. Those wanting a strong grapefruit flavor should go elsewhere but, if you are looking for a light tea with citrusy accents, this may be the right tea for you.

Fresh, subtle and delightful. This is a tea to keep on hand and drink cold during the summer months. (3 mins @ 185°F)

I normally drink Grapefruit Oolong, but this White Grapefruit is crisp and refreshing! I really enjoyed it!

A good mix of flavors -- very delicately delivered by the white -- but not as punchy as I'd like from such a citrus-forward blend.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this one, but it was actually better than I thought. I tried it iced and unsweetened and found I did need a little sweetener to tone down the tartness a bit. But the sweetener provided a nice balance to the sharpness of the grapefruit, and also allowed the white tea to shine.

I'm not sure I would buy this one, but it was a fun experience nonetheless!

When I opened my CommuniTEA packet, I was surprised by how much smell came out! My sinuses were very pleasantly attacked by the scent of candied citrus. Brewing up my cup, the white tea really was the dominant flavor, though. It had the usual subtle sensations of most white teas and just enough citrus tang and sweetness on the end to keep things interesting.

Sipping along with the CommuniTEA today: I notice notes of grapefruit and herbaceous eucalyptus from the dry ingredients. Once steeped for 3 mins at 185°F, I notice subtle tangy citrus and eucalyptus scents wafting from my cup. When I take a sip, I taste subtle herbaceous white tea with zingy lemony citrus and a eucalyptus.

The smell of this tea was wonderfully strong grapefruit, but the taste was very light, and didn't really taste like grapefruit to me. It was a nice white tea flavor and slight fruitiness. I steeped this at 180 degrees for 3 min.

Thankfully, this tastes very different to the Grapefruit flavored black tea. The packet smelled like a strong citrus fruit peel; Specifically the bitter peel, not the fruit. When steeped for 3 minutes, it tastes mildly fruity and not bitter at all. However, the flavor is weak just like the other flavored white teas like Peach. The flavor was good, but you need to use a lot of tea for a strong flavor.

This was a lovely white tea, with a mild fruit forwardness, but had I not known this was intended to be grapefruit, I would not have identified the flavor on my own. If you’re looking for something pleasant and light, this is a great choice. It has the traditional delicacy of a white tea, and is a nice calm afternoon sip. If you’re looking for a punch in the face of grapefruit, you will be disappointed.

Dry tea smells citrusy and like grapefruit. Once brewed, the resulting cup is a medium gold color and kept the citrus scent. The white tea works nicely as a mild backdrop to the mild crisp grapefruit, with some sweet orange in the finish. This is a delicate balance especially with white tea, and tastes like it would be great iced as well. The citrus oils add a bit of crisp bite on the tongue, but is not overwhelming. Brewed at 180 for 3 minutes.

Crisp, refreshing, and tangy. This is a fabulous blend. The refreshing green tea notes added to the bright citrus of the grapefruit create the perfect cup of tea.

The smell of this tea is amazing. Grapefruit and orange in a white tea base. This one is good hot or iced depending on the flavor profile you are looking for.

The dry tea had a delicious grapefruit aroma. Once brewed, the aroma was much reduced and the taste of grapefruit was very subtle. I love Adagio's black and oolong grapefruit flavored teas so was surprised this one had so little of the flavor. But the tea was tasty anyway, if a bit light.

I am not usually a fan of white tea, but the subtle grapefruit flavor makes this tea a winner. I was a little concerned because I didn't get a strong grapefruit smell when I opened the package, but there is definitely grapefruit flavor when brewed. I sweetened it with honey and enjoyed it iced.

I'm not a big fan of grapefruit at the best of times, so I actually expected not to like this one, even when the smell was quite mild after opening my CommuniTEA packet. While hot, the grapefruit flavor barely came through at all, though I could taste the white tea, which was quite smooth. As it cooled, though, it became more and more citrusy, until at room temperature it had this lovely, mild citrus flavor. I think this would be really delightful as an iced tea, also. I was surprised and impressed. Instead of tasting icky, or totally overpowering the white tea, instead this was smooth, mild, and just about perfect. Bravo.

Cold steeped, this white tea blend made for a very very light iced tea. Sadly, almost no flavor at all came forth. It just tasted like light light tea with a hint of citrus. I much prefer the Straight Grapefruit black tea blend.

From my CommuniTEA packet, I could smell the grapefruit essence. I expected to taste it in the brewed tea, but I only detected a whisper of grapefruit flavor, and that could’ve been subliminal. The white tea is nice and light, as expected. If you’re looking for heavy grapefruit flavor, this is not it. However, this is a light white tea that was nice iced.

As with other white teas and large-leafed teas, I really recommend people get a sensitive scale and weigh out their teas, particularly from the communitea packets. My packet today only had 1.5g of tea compared to the 3-3.5 I usually have, so if I brewed it in my normal 12-14oz of water, it would have been very weak. Today's packet for me was only enough for 6oz of water and therefore was packed with flavor! I think the tartness of the citrus kind of combats the white tea a little bit but it was still a lovely cup to have.

CommuniTEA Sample: This was an ok tea, but I didn't love it. It was a bit weak, even though I steeped it a bit longer than it should have been. The aroma is fantastic, but the taste just doesn't match. I didn't have any grapefruit pieces, so maybe it was missing that? Not sure if there are actual pieces or just flavoring.

This is a very, very gentle cup! Delicate grapefruit and orange flavors over equally-light white tea. I love the smell of grapefruit but am often overwhelmed by how strong and bitter the taste can be - I enjoyed this tea, though! It manages to be noticeably citrusy without a trace of bitterness. White tea is a perfect base for these flavors - it's so delicate, you only need a hint of grapefruit to balance with it, which keeps it from being overwhelming.

'Ok' is a huge compliment from the grapefruit hater. The light flavor helped keep the grapefruit from outright punching my senses, but instead a hug from the orange and white tea before getting suplexed by the aftertaste.

This smelled very sour in the packet, but I figured it would be very light tasting once brewed. Did a cold brew overnight and added in some monk fruit sweetener. Took a sip before eating anything and tasted just a hint of grapefruit, but mostly orange. But just barely. Ate some slightly sweet cereal and the tea tasted like water after that. Once my palate was cleansed I finished off the tea. This was much too light for me. I absolutely love white strawberry and know that this will be a very light tea. My expectations are in line...but this was just too weak.

Not bad but with grapefruit oolong available, this just doesn’t compare. White tea is just too weak for my preferences.

This one has just a kiss of grapefruit. It is subtle as all get out. I wish it was a more prominent flavor, as citrus notes are one of my favorites. This brew smells light and lovely in the cup and the white tea base is nice as always. I love the delicacy of a good white, so I'm biased for sure! I find white tea can be divisive and usually is a personal taste because it is so muted in flavor. If you want to REALLY lean in and sniff and sip, you should give this a try. Happy Sipping!

This is more a three and a half star review and in between 'love it' and 'meh.' The tea leaf smell isn't as strong as its much more caffeinated cousin, Grapefruit tea. However, I find the taste to be a lot better, but would not be good enough to buy for myself.

I'm new to the white teas, and this was a tasty beginning for me. It wasn't the bold morning cuppa I normally drink, but I did
enjoy this. I think it'd be better as a cooler beverage, I'll do this with the second steep

175 degrees for 3 minutes. To enjoy the delicate flavors of this white tea, I think its better to drink it at room temp. Soft sweet white tea with a subtle grapefruit essence and a dry finish.

27 June 2020 review: Not too many aromas of any kind were sniffed coming from the bag. Right after steeping, very slight sour aromas and tastes were noted. I thought to myself, “I bet I’m gonna have to wait for things to cool before the tastes come through.” Sho’ nuff, when the brew was warm, the grapefruit and orange made themselves known with typically citric flavors and aromas. I added a bit of sugar to mellow things out. And finally, the white tea provided a really nice woody smoothness on the tongue at finish. Due respect for a delicate white tea was honored by the other players by not being too strong. Second steep was even better. (3 mins @ 185F, 1/4 tsp sugar)

I love fruit combined with white tea. Refreshing, light and fruity, I prepared as a iced tea, perfect for a summer afternoon. The delicate grapefruit flavor doesn't overwhelm the natural flavor of the tea
I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTEA (June 2020 box).
