This white haired bud is amazing! One of my absolute favorites, Silver needle seems to capture that clean and crisp New budding moment right here in my cup! love it.
Silver Needle white tea is among the most revered of Chinese teas. Gathered only for a few days in early spring, a dedication to perfection is evident in the pale, ivory-colored liquor. Delicately honeysuckle floral, with a warmed sugar sweetness.

This white haired bud is amazing! One of my absolute favorites, Silver needle seems to capture that clean and crisp New budding moment right here in my cup! love it.
I tend to gravitate toward teas with more pronounced and distinct flavors and found this variety bland. It was slightly more enjoyable when blended in a 2:1 ratio with Adagio's Dewy Cherry herbal blend.
Very subtle taste and for the price White peony is a much better and substantial flavor.
This tea is a subtle yet flavorful one with a nice smooth finish.
I preferred the Jasmine silver needle - this is a bit plain and has a kind of straw-like flavor. I liked it with honey, though.
I like a cleaner silver needle, but this isn't bad for the price.
I used 1.3g of Silver Needle in 7oz of water @ 175 degrees. Steeped 1st infusion for 2 minutes. 2nd, 3rd and 4th infusions for 3 minutes. The flavor is very subtle, but nice. Slightly sweet, slightly vegetal and even a subtle hint of fruit. Very enjoyable tea. I think Adagio's recommendation to steep this tea at 195 degrees is a little too hot. I've been steeping it between 165-175 degrees with great success!
Silver Needle is one of my favorite white teas, a very nice flavor!
This was my first real venture with white tea, and this may now be among my favorite teas yet. Pleasantly sweet, very smooth, and mild but not weak. It was surprisingly savory, in fact. The first time I think I didn't let the water get quite hot enough (maybe 160°-ish) because it was a little on the weak side, so I resteeped the leaves with hotter water and it was much better. Probably could have steeped them again. Will definitely repurchase.
I love this tea! It has a great taste and aroma to it. I only purchased a sample pack, but it is amazing!
The general consensus seems to be that this is a delicate tea--and that's true. It has a light, slightly sweet flavor (which I like to accent with a bit of sugar >.>) without a trace of bitterness. I highly recommend it if you like what tea or are looking for a place to start--it definitely has a taste representative of white tea generally, I think (I say this having had, recently, white pear and white grapefruit as well--both of which are good but not quite as good as this one...).
This was my first experience with white tea, and i am almost positive my water was far too hot. Still, even with having steeped it wrong it was good, just not quite what i expected.
I've never been much of a white tea drinker, in fact this was the first i've had in several years. Although its flavor was very nice, it was very light. Great buy!
I received it as a free sample. It had been some time since I last tried adagio's silver needle. What a lovely surprise. Slightly vegetal with notes of honey. Delish.
ThIs is a truly wonderful tea. It has a unique taste that can't be found in other whites, and it is worlds away from black or other overpowering teas. If I could only drink one tea, this would be it.
Extremely delicate and subtle flavor...good for a change of pace if you like white tea, but want something with very light flavoring.
Now this is a great tea! A very fragrant and pleasant taste resembles a fresh summer field where the hey was just harvested and is mixed with wild flowers...
To get the best of this tea use a good spring water and brew 1.5g-2g of leaves for a cup of water at 85C for 3 min.
The silver needle has a soft flavor and a very pale appearance. It is a very good tea but needs good water or it's taste won't come through as well.
Yeah, I am not a big fan of this tea. The first time I had it I liked it but now I find the taste to mild.
Probably my favorite tea. There's a point where it cools just enough for the full flavor to be discernible but still warm enough where it's the perfect sip.
A mild Silver Needle - my new 'go to' everyday tea. I drink this all afternoon while working. So good.
It is extremely light. Actually, it is too light leaving one to wonder whether you are drinking tea or slightly colored water (full of antioxidants, one would hope). But, perhaps, it is not such a bad question to ponder on a sleepy afternoon...
This is a white tea that opitomises what white tea should be, light and sweet. The lingering after taste rounds out everything.
This is the first time ive ever bought this tea and i got 8oz and i dont regreat it at all. its taste is supurb and its so smooth. only reason why i havent marked it as great is because i havent resteeped it. if it resteeps atleast a total of 3 times or more this is make it my favorite tea ever
This is my first white purchased through adagio and it is the one I reach for first when it comes to whites, its flavor is subtle and very relaxing
The tea is ok, but not great. It was my first white tea, maybe I need to try other white teas.
very nice white tea.not as dry as the others just make sure you pay attention to temp and time its pretty delicate to doing either too long.
Very bland, possibly because I'm not using enough or steeping it long enough. Will keep experimenting in hopes of getting it right...
Smooth and slightly sweet flavor. What kind of turned me off was that it required a long steep time to generate little flavor and I had to use 2 teabags to really eek it out. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I can barely taste this tea. Maybe the teabag approach is not as good as bare leaves.
In the end, a very subdued flavor, not as hearty as oolong or green teas, this may be the first real white tea I've ever had. I wish I could find a white tea that was more forward in its taste. Will have to investigate other options.
Overall, not impressed by this white tea and its high end cost!
Delicious white tea, with a very gentle and clean taste. Great for any time of day. I like it with just a tiny bit of honey.
Have tried mass produced white tea bags, but never a real Silver Needle. I was pleseantly surprised. Excellent flavor, body and beautiful color in the cup. Not exaggerating when I say quite possibly the best tea I've ever tasted. I Savor every sip and in love with the flavor euphoria! Try it, you won't regret it.
This was the first white tea I have ever tried. The aroma from the leaves smells very sweet. The tea itself has a mild flavor compared to green or black teas, and has a slightly sweet taste to it, less than what the scent of the leaves would suggest but still very good. I would order this one again as a nice change-up between my other favorites.
A delicate sweet white tea. The second brewing is as good as the first.
This tea is prefect for mixing with ginger lemon tea! Helps to give it a smooth taste.
use it day after day for refreshment, this tea its excellent tasty ,healthy, natural
this is easily one of the best white teas i've ever had. a slightly earthy, floral aroma gives way to a subtly sweet, slightly floral flavor. i'm sure it would be delicious with a touch of light honey, but this tea stands perfectly on its own without any sweetener.
This is a very mild tea. I probably won't be getting it again. It's not that I didn't like it -- it's just a bit too bland for me.
Nice mellow flavor and makes a great light afternnoon tea
I have never had silver needle before but this was an underwhelming experience. Not much flavor to match the inviting aroma. It is very soothing to drink just aromatic water and still get a good caffeine infusion, but I would like to taste the spinach and sweet that I am smelling so strongly. I will finish my sample and experiment with steeping techniques, but probably won't buy more. I will continue exploring whites though.
Silver needle is a light subtle tea. This is a tea that takes time to really notice the flavor. It is very light and flowery. My taste buds did not notice the honeysuckle or sugary sweetness that is suggested all I noticed was light, subtle, and flowery. Admittedly I have not tried a lot of whites so I cannot compare to others. I am glad I tried it but for me it is not my cup of tea! (Man I am funny!)
the silver needle is great, as is the jasmine version. Switch between the two
I really like this tea. Quietly flavorful, really nice in the afternoon when you're taking a break.
Mild vegetable flavor, but no aftertaste like some other white teas. Smooth and fresh like taste and feel. One of my favorite teas to date. Very calming tea for end of day activities.
Very clean taste to it. Wonderful after a meal when you need to cleanse your palate. Great first white tea to try!
Not an outstanding experience but adequate for an afternoon respite.
I have to say this is my favorite white tea...it is extremely smooth and balanced..not to mention the great heath benefits
This is hands-down, the most amazing white tea I have ever had. Some whites have an aftertaste that you want to wash out, not this one.
Sweet and heavenly, I just had to sit and wonder at it this morning.
Fresh, green taste. Lightly sweet. This is my first sampling of white tea - I'm pleased with the results!
I have begun making my own kombucha tea and have found that siver needle white tea produces the most gluconic acid which aids in detoxing. Your tea does the job.
Love this tea. Its very smooth and light and has a nice yellow-orange color
