Silver Needle Customer Reviews

Silver Needle white tea is among the most revered of Chinese teas. Gathered only for a few days in early spring, a dedication to perfection is evident in the pale, ivory-colored liquor. Delicately honeysuckle floral, with a warmed sugar sweetness.

This tea will brew the most flavor and rich cup! I encourage you to try it

★★★☆☆

This is the first time I've tried a silver needle tea, so I suspect it's just not my personal taste. To me, it has a somewhat grassy taste that I don't really enjoy.

★★★★★

In my opinion, the absolute best tea an the planet.

★★★★☆

Good flavor, nice aroma. But green tea is where my money is right now.

Sweet without sugar and refreshing to drink. Unlike any other green tea I’ve ever had

I am new to trying White Teas, but I love this one. The flavor is very light

★★★★★

Very light. Steeped per instructions but added more tea to get more depth.

★★★★★

It's pricey but worth every penny. When you are brewing make sure you are measuring by weight and not by volume. I use 7g of tea in 16oz of water and get heavenly tea.

One of my all time favorite teas now! Has a hint of subtle hint of sweetness.

Lower brewing time due to using gongfu style!

It took me a second infusion to get it right. But when I did, it was delicious. The flavour was very subtle and gentle on my tongue. It was a mixture between floral and vegetal, though I couldn't find any sort of aroma to it. The tea liquor was a pale ivory with a hint of yellow. A creamy texture in my mouth and medium body. It had a dry finish, which left my mouth.. well, slightly dry, but I actually like that.

This is one of my favorite teas that Adagio offers. I wish it wasn't so expensive, but I understand the cost. I recommend at least trying a few cups, it is absolutely delicious. The flavor is very mild, I could drink it all day long.

This is my first encounter with white tea, and I am very pleased. I take it with a splash of lemon.

★★★★★

A staple tea for me on many mornings. Flavored with honey or maple sugar. A good start to any day.

★★★★★

This was a nice, flavorful, soothing cup of tea. There was a mixture of various flavors ranging from dry grass to melon. But none of the flavors overpowered the others. All in all a very delicious tea.

★★★★☆

This is a very delicate white tea and I think it has to be treated as such. It can very easily be under or oversteeped, but when you get it right, it's great.

I find this to be the most 'regal' of the White Teas, its sometimes known as 'Silver Rain', and as the name would imply, tastes every bit as fresh and pure as rainfall. Just make sure your palate is as clean as this tea is, otherwise this delicate brew may end up tasting like plain warm water.

Very nice light white tea. Great for brewing and storing in the fridge to drink cold later.

Nice crisp, clean taste. Seems a great quality, and I've enjoyed every cup so far.

★★★★★

This tea surprised me. I like it a lot. There are lush needles creating a wonderful flavor.

★★★★★

I really like the silver needle tea. It's a very nice mild tea. Perfect for night time.

★★★★★

More refined than the traditional silver needle offered here. Excellent taste but not really sure if it is worth the added cost over the regular silver needle

It's like all the other white teas i have. B/c there's not white tea variation to begin w/ , for me, the flavors betwn Pekoe, Needle & Peony are very subtle. They're all delicate & light tasting, of course. Great w/ or w/o sugar, definitely not w/ milk, otherwise you'll taste the milk more than the tea.

light in tea flavor, as expected. just not as flavorsome as desired

Probably the best tea here. I add a little peppermint and its perfect.

★★★★★

Delicate, mild, slightly sweet tea. This is a staple for any white tea drinker. Can also be blended with other teas for the added antioxidant boost.

★★★★★

this is the best tea in the world for your health and happiness

★★★★☆

Delicate flavour, lightly sweet, virtually no astringency. I m not normally a fan of white tea but I enjoyed this.

★★★★★

So soft and nice and soothing and sweet. Being fairly new to white tea, I couldn't help thinking of it as the lightness of a green tea, but without the taste of 'that is a plant in my mouth' that greens can have.

Great subtle taste though stronger than other white teas i have tried making it perfect. Worked best for me first thing in the morning for calm days and mid-afternoon any other type of day. Must have for times when mild taste is preferred.

A nice yet mild tea - I find it to be best at the higher end of the recommended steeping time

Dry leaves are a delicately floral, peach blossom scent. This palest of gold brew retains those floral notes with the subtle fruitiness of white pear and sun-ripened peach. Lightly exquisite without being perfume-y or overpoweringly jammy, akin to adding just one slice of fresh peach to a flute of champagne. 180-185 is just right for the brewing temp but 3 minutes just wasn t enough so I steeped it an extra 2 minutes to find that flavor. One of my new favorites!

Hands down the best tea that Adagio has. Soft flavors, goes down amooth

One of my staples that I can't live without. When choosing a white tea, this should be the first one you try. The 8 oz bag lasts me a long time!

This is such a mild, sweet, smooth tea. Perfect for when I don't want a strong caffeine kick, but am not yet ready for the more relaxing herbal blends.

★★★★★

This tea os one of my favorites, I love the subtle flavor that is so aromatic. It's a winner!

★★★★☆

This is the most flavorful of the white teas that I've tried thus far, and I can see why it's as popular as it is! The way it's described on the site - 'honeysuckle floral' - is as good a way to put it as any. It has a nicely sweet taste, not too delicate as with some white teas, but still smooth and light. The only quibble I have with it is the relative value per ounce of tea, what with the whole 'two heaping teaspoons per cup' thing that one often sees with white teas and some others. That means more tea leaves per cup than most other varieties, which means fewer cups for the price. Ah, well. It's worth it every once in a while!

I cannot describe my love for silver needle tea. The slightly sweet mellowness is perfect for sitting and melting into the sofa taking deep relax inhales of the most pleasant aroma it gives off.

Light and crisp, don't oversteep this one! It's flavor is subtle and light, and is so easy to drink!

Expensive, delicate, subtle and extremely palatable. Don't oversteep or you'll ruin the whole cup.

I'm always a big fan of silver needle, however I like the extra complexity of the Jasmine Silver Needle better

★★★★☆

Very subtle, mellow easy drinking. Great by its self or to mix with more flavorful teas.

A wonderful staple, the light clear flavor and low caffeine content make it a great evening tea, especially with light flavored foods.

My favorite white tea. I drink it too much. The aroma is perfect. The flavor mixes together so many different aspects that it creates layers and layers of different complimentary and complex notes. I wish it was a little cheaper but I think it's still worth the price tag.

★★★★★

Wonderful light tea perfect for a night time low caffeine drink.

★★★☆☆

Was pretty good, but not really strong. other reviews said it was light but didn't think it would be this mild. i tried steeping longer and it slightly stronger but just not enough for me. glad i tried it but i like to taste my tea and for its price for 1.5 oz i can't buy again.

8 min steep · 180°F

★★★☆☆

Was certainly good, but not particularly strong. Very subtle tea which is not necessarily bad, just not so much for me

★★★★★

Overall the flavor is light, but if memory serves it has a nice hint of citrus to it. Enjoyable, although quite mild in flavor.

A delicious tea, but make sure you have a large enough tea infuser to fit the leafs as they come full length.

This is a very high quality silver needle white tea. The buds are whole, well dried, covered in downy hairs, and were picked at the proper time, so they are large and full, but have not yet turned to small leaves. The brew is an amber color with a sweet, gentle fragrance reminiscent of a spring field. The flavor is slightly woody with sweet, floral overtones and a light astringency. The buds hold up well to a second brewing, but they lose the floral notes on the third brew, which takes on a more woody character with deeper mineral notes. This is a very nice tea to enjoy on a warm, spring day.
