These fuzzy tea leaves brew up to a very light and delicate tea. The flavor has floral suggestions abd hints of melon. It is very subtle, but delicious!
Handpicked fine silvery down bearing buds from carefully reared tea bushes in the Fuding area of Fujian, China.

I put my tea sample into a simpliciTEA, about 2tsp, and added about 12 ozs of 185°F water. I poured a small cup at 3 minutes, taste was light and difficult to pickup flavors. A second cup at about 6 minutes had all the buttery notes and sweet melon, third cup was a bit too bitter.
This tea is just wonderfully light and amazing. It's so good it doesn't need anything added to it.
I am surprised by how much I enjoyed this since white teas tend to be too light for me. This had a really nice mouth feel and a clean vegetal flavor.
Earthy, woodsy, and a bit like hay. It’s ok, but probably not a favorite.
I once heard that drinking these delicate, terroir driven whites was like sipping the “teardrops of tea” and that description has always stuck with me. This is a delicious sipper. It is creamy and dreamy on the mouthfeel and warms you up with its buttery liquor. I definitely get white grapes and cucumbers on the back of the sip. If you like bolder flavors, this is probably not the tea for you. But if you like a light brew that will hold up to multiple steepings and contemplative sipping, try this one out! You won’t be disappointed. Happy Sipping!
The leaves are long, furry and silvery looking. They steep into a golden color. With a very light vegetal aroma this has zero astringency and a very buttery mouthfeel. What a delicate delight! (3 mins @ 180ºF).
I found this to be a mellow, relaxing tea. I noted straw on the nose and some earthiness on the palate; still a smooth and enjoyable tea. I didn't pick up any of the melon characteristics from the description, but there was no bitterness or astringency and I didn't feel the need for any sweetener. Steeped 3 min @ 180º.
I really love this tea. It's smooth with a good body and a lovely sweet melon flavor. The finish has a bright, clean, light vegetable taste to it.
A nice, smooth white tea. Sometimes I don't need or want alot of caffeine or flavor in the morning. A barely there taste of fruit is coming through in my cup. Yes, this is by no means an 'exciting' tea; but it is light and relaxing.
In the bag: Soft, fuzzy, needle-like leaves ranging from white to dark green. Some breakdown occurred in transit.
On the nose (pre-steep): Mild scent of hay with a woodsy background note. Slightly fuzzy nose feel. Not intense.
On the nose (post-steep): Almost no scent at all. Hints of wood.
On the tongue: Almost no flavor. I'm not sure I could tell this isn't water if I tasted it blind. Perhaps a combination of wood and hay.
Opinion: Nope. Sniffing the packet at least offered some flavor, but it went downhill from there.
Preparation: First steep 3 min, second steep 6 min. Both @ 175 ℉. No sweetener.
Excellent tea! One of my favorite white Teas. I like the smooth- mellow light fruity tea. Outstanding flavor and will get a 3 oz bag, in my next order.
I enjoy the regular silver needle and this one is definitely of higher quality, it's a nice light tea, woodsy, but has notes of melon.
This tea was pretty delightful to sample. I personally didn't sense any of the bitterness, but did detect some of the melon mentioned in the profile. The second brew wasn't particularly notable, which was a shame, though perhaps more up to my lack of skill. Tasty, but probably wouldn't buy a sizable portion for myself.
A wonderful precious cup of delicious white tea. This white tea reminds me of white symphony from adagio.
The flavor was good, but I got a lot of broken pieces in with mine. It shipped as a communitea packet so this wasn’t their normal presentation. I am a fan of the regular silver needle though.
Wow. This tea is light and delicate, it has a light melon-like undertone and natural sweetness, this doesn't need anything added to it. It has an interesting mouth feel after you've sipped, like it coats your mouth with a lingering sweetness. Aside from the light melon flavor, there is something else there, like maybe almost a hint of a buttery quality (which is in the description, so I am picking up on that) And maybe a very light vegetal flavor (I'm not picking up on cucumber, but definitely vegetal) This is my first time having silver needle, it's excellent.
First time customer and I couldn’t be more pleased with this tea. The Fujian silver needle white tea is so smooth and satisfying.
I love Silver Needle, and a few years ago I had a coworker who loved anything 'Master Class' pure. When I saw this tea was on sale, I decided to go for it. The price was daunting but an early birthday gift for me I guess. The flavor was still so silky, a slight hint of /something/ that wasn t just hot water. Its a tea that soothes one down to their toes and deep into the couch cushions and blankets. On sale? Get it if you re a white tea lover.
This is my absolute favorite tea. The subtle cucumber melon flavor that hits at the end is beautiful! I'm so glad there's finally a larger portion available because I always run out way too quickly!
I brewed my Fujian Silver Needle hot and plain. It brewed a nice light color and had a pleasant, light flavor to it. I really loved it and would highly recommend it!
this is by no means a bad tea, it is excellent, but to my personal tastes i prefer the regular silver needle, im not even saying it is not better, just the regular silver needle suites me better
This tea has notes of straw, dried apricots, and dark honey. The liquor is very pale blonde with a scent that, strangely, reminds me of standing in Tennessee meadows with subtle notes of dried grass, wildflowers, and fresh veggies. The cup is buttery smooth with notes of cantaloupe and fresh baked cookies. The finish is slightly mineral and leaves your mouth feeling like you've just had a big homemade southern meal. I never would have thought that a prized Chinese white tea would remind me so much of the South. This is truly a special and heartwarming tea.
Not quite what I was expecting, but still a very great white tea. The leaves are long and feathery. I agree with others that the regular Silver Needle is great as well. I also agree that there is a slightly buttery mouthfeel with flavors starting off being melon and finishing up with cucumber notes.
My husband loves the light flavor of this high quality white tea! You will too.
It has such a soft flavor. I absolutely adore this tea!
High quality silver needle tea with a delicate, cucumber-sweet taste. Very enjoyable when you are looking for something lighter. @adagioteas
I'm sad to say that this tea was only okay. It's such a bummer because I loved the Fuijan Jasmine Pearl tea. Maybe I need to give it another try but so far it's not my favorite.
This white tea is amazing. I like it plenty alone, but also adds extra depth to your favorite white tea blend. 🤗
Loving our first try of this delicate tea. Can't wait to have more.
Very potent and yummy. Used to make ice tea so steeped for a long time
So delicious and worth every penny! Good for several steeps if done right.
Velvety tea leaves. Delicate, floral aroma and taste.
Lots of whole pieces, very little broken bits. Nice clean white fluff/trichomes and I was pulling notes of apricot and rose.
It might be my untrained taste buds(I only started seriously drinking tea about 2-3 years ago), but the infusions are kinda faint. I get that it’s a very delicate white tea but, I was expecting more. I’ve had a different Baihao yinzhen with a lot more oomph. Maybe I need to brew slightly hotter? From what I do taste and the mouthfeel, it’s great.
Subtle and aromatic. It is a nice tea to dring in the night and relax
Bought for my partner who loves a tea that tastes like fragrant nothing. This fit the bill perfectly. We bought this alongside the a fujian rain sample; Silver lacks the wonderful just-licked-a-rock mineral taste that Rain has and which I prefer, but my partner says it's absolutely perfect for him. Dusty, pleasant, delicate, hay-like scent.
Fujian Silver Needle is a dry (crisp) white tea that is light and smooth with hints of cantaloupe and barely a wisp of floral on the back end. Each sip is progressively more astringent – a good palate cleanser after rich foods. Best enjoyed gongfu style or you risk a slightly bitter brew.
Since this was selling at a special price or seemed to me it was I decided to give it a try it was well worth it. It has a very very light taste the color is very light it has a soothing mellow kind of taste very different than what I usually drink I’m glad I tried it it’s not a favorite but well worth the experience.
The buttery mouthfeel is 100% there and is actually really nice. There are sweet and pleasant notes with a light flora finish and crisp steamed vegetable like flavor. This tea is very good warm. Very pleasant and no need for sweeteners.
It was okay. I’m pretty new to the tea world and I’ve been trying a bunch of different kinds. This wasn’t the best but it wasn’t the worst.
Great tea. Tender, sweet, smooth. The accolades ring true.
I enjoyed multiple steeps gong fu style of this delicate white tea. Cucumber and melon notes filled my cup and delighted my senses. This would be fantastic to infuse your favorite gin. Happy sipping!
Probably just too refined for my palette, but one of my partners (who had this tea around while growing up) and I compared it to La Croix. It is like you left a bottle of water on a lawn for half a day. Not bad. Just. Eh.
this is the best tea I have ever tasted so complexed, it is amazing
Worse than the regular classic Silver Needle, but good regardless. I drink it with dinner.
Not as impressive as I thought it'd be for the fancy label and cute impossible-to-close tin. Almost a salty aftertaste.
a very mellow and soft tea
Delicate in color and flavor. Has a distinct stone fruit taste that is hard for me to describe. Excellent for multiple brews.
I have had a handful of silver needle teas and I will say this one is very nice. One of the best ones so far. With just a small amount of it there is a surprising amount of flavor. A light tea but very aromatic and pleasant. As with many white teas it is best as is or with the tiniest amount of sweet from sugar. Anything else is too strong and will overtake the flavor of the tea thus ruining it. The smell alone is relaxing and this tea reminds me of a silver needle tea I had quite a handful of years ago. I definitely will enjoy the rest of this little tin and am considering getting more when it runs out.
