I do not like licorice or anise. I gave this tea a try anyway, but due to the strong flavor I ended up having to pour it down the drain.
The warm and soothing embrace of sweet licorice, calming anise, and fresh raspberry leaves are a trifecta of comfort.

I do not like licorice or anise. I gave this tea a try anyway, but due to the strong flavor I ended up having to pour it down the drain.
Upon opening my CommuniTEA packet, I noticed aromas of cinnamon and aniseed. I steeped the tea for 5 minutes. This tea has an interesting combination of flavors, but it was really pleasant to me. I’m not a huge licorice or aniseed person, but the hibiscus, orange, and cinnamon help to make those flavors not so overwhelming. This is a nice tea for if you are feeling under the weather!
I actually enjoy this tea enough to drink even if I don't have a sore throat. I normally hate licorice/anise flavours, but I've found that I don't mind them in most teas. Whodathunk! This tea does not need any sweetener, in my opinion, and really does feel soothing on the throat. Would definitely keep some on hand, especially if you're regularly out in the world with everyone else's pathogens.
I love licorice tea. I drank this with a sore throat and it was lovely and soothing. Licorice is the main flavor but it doesn't taste like a candy or too strong.
The licorice was dominant in my sample. I am not a fan of the flavor or the mouthfeel of slippery elm, but it really helped my sore throat. It’s loads better than the syrupy, numbing throat sprays of my childhood, so it’s worth keeping some on hand.
This was a nice blend for fighting my cold! Soothing and tasty in the herbal way that I crave when under the weather. I'll have to pick up some to keep on hand for next time I fall ill.
This tea is great to have on hand when you have a sore throat. Licorice is very prominent, and while the flavors are not my favorite, they're not terrible, and warm cup soothes.
Happened to have this in CommuniTea packet when I had a sore throat and I mugged it early. It was great. It was so soothing, tasted wonderful, and had all the sweet, soothing qualities of tea with honey without adding honey, which was a nice change after 3 or 4 days of gallons of tea with honey (seemingly!)
I expected this tea to taste medicinal. Wow. It was great as I love Licorice and Anise.
Everything blended nicely together. No one flavor overwhelmed the others. And it came just in time to help with my sore throat. This is a tea I’ll keep on hand.
When I first smelled this, I thought it smelled earthy and bland. But, when I tasted it I was pleasantly surprised. It's delicious and soothing. The subtle sweetness of the licorice and anise slowly comes through towards the end of the sip and coating your throat providing relief.
As a teacher, this is a excellent tea to sooth a tired throat. I mix a little honey with it and it’s quite good.
This tasted and smelled good. I don't know if the health benefits are real but it's a pleasant warm drink for when I'm sick.
I love having a cup of this after an evening of singing Gilbert and Sullivan.
I was surprised at how much I liked this one, despite its somewhat medicinal taste. Sweet and soothing as it coated my throat.
I bought this because I have chronic acid reflux. It's got a nice mild flavor and it really does help. I'm on my second bag and will get more when it runs out.
I have been buying this for a long time now, it is my go to tea when my throat feels itchy or sensitive, it is magical, I am convinced I have prevented many throat infections by drinking this tea! so soothing, naturally sweet, and so flavorful. I give it to my kids when they are under the weather and they love it and always ask for it. So I make sure to always have enough at home!
Love it. Very tasty and does exactly what promised. Will buy again and use for presents for my family too.
Holy absolute moly. This was not at all what I expected this to taste like, but its an amazing flavor. It's a nice sweet and ever so slight tangy feel to it that I not only love this when I'm feeling under the weather, but I'll be coming back for more yearround.
This is a great tea. Really does help with a sore throat.
I enjoyed this wellness tea even though my throat is feeling fine. The licorice overpowered the fruit and cinnamon flavors but they all tasted warm and medicinal, in a positive way. I had opened some honey, expecting it would need some but I covered it right back up because this tea is plenty sweet on its own. I will definitely order some of this next time I get a cold. I steeped at 212 degrees for 5 minutes.
This is my new herbal - so light and easy. A very relaxing tea for afternoons when I stop using caffeine
I get a sore throat every fall and winter, and this tea is a life saver. I keep this tea at my house but am ordering some for my classroom, as I never know when I will need it.
Okay I was skeptical about this tea, but purchased it in the event that I got sick, you know, with a global pandemic the past several years. Anyway, when I got my first sore throat after purchase, I tried it and it really did provide some relief! Although it was temporary relief, I was surprised that the effects were relatively immediate. The taste is also not bad. Licorice isn’t my favorite, although I wasn’t mad about the taste overall
Excellent night time (or anytime) tea. Bought a sampler and blew through it immediately. Would recommend.
This definitely works. The taste isn't amazing, but for those days when the throat needs a rescue, it does seem to do the trick.
My favorite tea when I’ve got a sore throat. The licorice root is so comforting, but not overpowering. Love it
Licorice is really what I'm after when I come across anything that boasts of medicinal effect of throat pain relief, and this one delivers pretty well. All the other add-ons are okay to balance, but not much else.
A unique but pleasant aftertaste with some amazing throat relief. Highly recommend this tea as a herbal remedy.
I am not a fan of a couple of ingredients here so I didn’t just jump in. I am holding this until I need it for a sore throat and then I can update this further.
I’m sorry to say that this tea is just not for me. At first, the anise flavor was just a bit too strong but then after it sat for a few minutes, that flavor tamed down some. My problem with this tea is that, although I know it doesn’t have any sweeteners in it, I got this taste at the end of my sip that tasted as if someone had put a really large amount of artificial sweetener in it. I’m not sure what has given that taste to this tea but, try as I might, I just couldn’t drink it.
Love that Adagio offers healthy tea options like this one. Flavor isn’t too bad either.
First time trying the CommuniTea. The throat therapy blend sample had a nice variation of ingredients. This has a strong licorice flavor, which I like. Helped to soothe my sore throat. Will purchase to have some on hand for that use, however, it's not something I would choose to drink for enjoyment.
I'd probably give this one a 3.5 if I could; it was better than I expected but the flavors are not my cup of tea. The licorice and aniseed are the strongest flavors with some cinnamon undertones, so if those flavors seem appealing to you I'd definitely say try it out!
I don’t have a sore throat, but still enjoyed this tea!
very pleasant, i can see how this might help an itchy sore throat!
I already have this tea in my stash, and it will always be there. Whenever my throat needs a little bit a TLC I'll brew this up and it works great. (212, 5min)
Oh I am gonna buy SO many bags of this stuff. Throat coat was my favorite tea as a kid, and its got the same ingredients as this tea <3 I am utterly in love!!!
Tasty blend! Herbal Healing Galore!! I got a whole buncha Slippery Elm in my packet..what a treat!! I most definitely need this in my tea stash!
CommuniTEA portion: Brewed as directed. Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of much of anything in this blend. That said, all together it worked pretty well and I can definitely see how it might help soothe your throat. Especially with a spot of honey.
I enjoyed the licorice taste in this tea and I am a strong believer that it help with a sore throat
Had some today to soothe my throat. A solidly good-tasting tea. I have a similar one from a different company. It is a bit more delicious, but they aren't advertising it as a wellness tea-- it's more focused on the flavor instead. My nephews and niece love to drink it. However, I do believe the slightly different ingredients of this blend are more helpful for anyone suffering a sore throat of any type. It works! And, hours later, it may be time for another cup. :)
This is a unique tea that is very good! I love black licorice, so this is a real treat.
if you enjoy licorice, then this is the blend for you as that's the prominent taste. However, it wasn't for me, and had a bit of an off-putting aftertaste.
A lot of people don't care for the licorice, but that's what makes me so fond of this tea! And yes, it feels amazing to drink when you're under the weather
My husband really likes this tea. Me, not so much. I am not a fan of aniseed and/or licorice in tea, and this tea must have a lot of both. I might be able to drink it if my throat was sore and it would provide relief. Something in it makes it taste cloyingly sweet to me (I added nothing to it). Other than for a sore throat, nope. Brewed at 212 for five minutes.
The licorice is very strong. I don’t personally like that flavor, but if you do, you might enjoy this more than I did.
This tea is so delicious! It is the juiciest most pleasant medicinal I can recall tasting. It brewed to a lovely pinkish amber. I could see drinking this regularly for throat wellness.
Smell of tea in packet is marvelous. The infusion smelled odd with none of the same scents, but the taste is delightful. I wondered about tasting this tea on a specific date (instead of when needed for sore throat!) but coincidentally I talked too much with friends and became hoarse today; this tea with honey was delicious and did restore my vocal cords.
I tested positive for COVID yesterday so I had a great opportunity to try this sample in my communitea box. It actually was very soothing on my sore throat, and I appreciated that it wasn’t mint or ginger or lemon, none of which are very throat soothing in my experience. Definitely going to stock up on this one for the next cold season.
