It has a very bright and cheery taste, with a warm floral undertone added by the licorice and fennel. Between the somewhat numbing affects of licorice and fennel, the natural antiseptic properties of ginger and peppermint, and the lack of acidity, and the mellow and earthy flavor if the tea, this is GREAT for if you've got an injury in your mouth or a toothache to contend with, and it did great cutting the nausea from my medicine thanks to the ginger and peppermint. IMPORTANT UPDATE: I just had dental surgery, as of the 26th, when I am writing this. I had nine teeth removed all at once. I am dizzy, nauseous, and coping with pain as best I can. This tea is helping a LOT.

I don’t typically like teas with any kind of licorice in them but I really didn’t mind this one—and I honestly think it helped me feel better!

Really liked this one! Big fan of licorice , fennel, and ginger, so this one is perfect for me! Despite what the ingredients say, its not too spicy, the licorice adds a sweet aftertaste.

This was interesting. I received a sample of this tea in my March CommuniTEA box. It’s a good tea. But pretty complex with a lot of things going on. I taste the green tea and the a huge punch of peppermint and then sweetness from licorice root and marigold flowers. This tea kinda tastes like “tummy tea” from T2 if you ever had that. I enjoyed it but I might of enjoyed it even more without the flavor green tea added.

Loved it! Minty and soothing. The spicyness is a different twist

Very mild and soothing tea. Although the blend includes some rather strong flavors, there is a good balance with no one flavor outshining the others. Tastes good with a bit of honey. I haven't tested this for medicinal purposes, but it would be a comforting tea to sip when feeling sick. (180°F x2 min for first steep, x5 min for second steep)

I got a kick out of seeing the variety in my infuser, it put me in the mind a bit of pickling spices. I brewed this up as per the instructions, and found the cup was very minty with various other spices popping in only occasionally. I mostly enjoyed the tea when it was hot, but noticed that as it cooled, the licorice started to emerge as a much stronger taste, and since I am not a fan of licorice I did not enjoy the tea cooler. I think that this tea has some nice potential as a pick you up kind of tea, but the fennel and licorice taste mean that I would not stock this tea for myself.

Pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this one. I am not a fan of licorice or fennel but I could not detect them enough to bother me. Mint is the dominant flavor but not too strong. I woke up today with stomach issues and this was very helpful. I will definitely buy more to keep on hand for when I’m not feeling well.

The mint overpowered the other flavors in my cup. Very enjoyable and soothing tea.

I'm not q fan of licorice and was concerned that this would be too fennel and licorice heavy, but those notes were mild and the tea was tasty. Not sure it would help me if I weren't feeling well, but a nice cup either way

Very tasty tea. The green tea and mint were the dominant flavors to me.

I would definitely chalk this tea up under 'health' teas; doesn't taste great but is supposedly good for you. The green tea base isn't very strong. The peppermint is the strongest flavor, with ginger clinging to the back of your throat. The licorice makes itself known as an aftertaste. Not really something I would reach for, but I can see how some might find use of it.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well all the flavors in this tea blended. That said, peppermint was the predominant flavor, supported by a subtle warmth from the other spices. I could not easily identify any of the other flavors - ginger, fennel, licorice, etc. I would like to try this tea again when I'm actually ill to see how well it works!

I can imagine that this is a great tea for when you’re sick, but it as just as good when you’re not. It tastes kind of like throat-coat tea but milder, with less licorice flavor. I added a little honey which really brought out the ginger.

On opening the CommuniTEA packet I noted the strong familiar scent of mint and ginger. I brewed at 180 F x 2 min, no sweetener was needed. I tasted the familiar sweetness of mint mixed with the zing of ginger. I am transported back to a snorkeling trip while visiting Hawaii. I had gotten very sea sick and the ship's crew gave me a drink very similar to this. It worked wonders just like I am sure this tea would do the same. This tea is probably one of those things every household should keep on hand for when stomach flu goes around.

This is a herb-ful, bright tea. However, the taste of mint pretty much overpowered everything else in my communitea cup today. I also tasted something earthy like a turmeric root, but that could possibly have been licorice/fennel combo. Overall, I expected a lot more flavor and coziness in this cup than what i ultimately got.

The prominent flavor I got in my communiTea packet is ginger. A tiny bit of licorice to soften it at the end, but for me it was essentially a ginger tea.

Okay is a good word to describe it. It taste like minty comfort except two ingredients that I don't like are in it (licorice root and fennel). I'll drink the rest but won't resteep for seconds.

I had 2 pieces of peppercorn in my CommuniTEA packet today. When steeped for nearly 3 minutes, it's mostly all mint. There is a faint whisper of something savory when searching for it. I loved it because I love mint teas, but if my packet is actually representative of the blend as a whole I'll stick with my regular mint tea bags since there isn't much difference. I would be interested in trying this one again though to see if I can taste the other flavors.

This is a nice gingery mint tea. I’m not a big green tea fan, so I would have preferred a different base, however the green tea gets pretty much overpowered by all the other flavors. This seems like it would be good for a wide variety of ailments, and one that would be good to keep on hand during sick season.

A complex brew! So many flavors, some that play well together, and some that struggle to fit in. Brewed at 180° for 3 minutes the ginger came through very strong, with a back kick of pepper. When honey was added it was a drinkable brew, but not one that I would search out.

Bright, refreshing, and yet also soothing, I loved that the sharpness of the ginger and mint are kept in check by the earthiness of the licorice and fennel. These are all strong flavors that could potentially overpower or clash, but they are perfectly balanced and work together harmoniously. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

What a lovely blend! A good base of green tea really comes to life with mint, licorice, and ginger. There’s a little bit of a tingle on the tongue and a LOT of soothing flavor.

This is a tasty feel better tea. I could drink it daily if it kept the germs at bay. I didn't get clove or peppercorns in my sample but that's ok. Yum!

Like a lot of others, I got mostly mint. There's a hint of something else there, a little bit of spice or zing on the tip of my tongue. If you're fearful of the fennel or licorice, don't worry about it. But likely there might not be a lot beyond the mint and a little tingle.

I love all of the flavors that come together in this tea. I taste the mint and ginger the most along with some fennel and licorice. Mint and ginger are such a great combination. Very soothing and comforting but has some zip to it. I tried this as part of the CommuniTEA and plan to purchase this in the future so I can try it when I am not feeling well to see how well it aids in a Speedy Recovery. I woke up very tired and moody this morning. All I wanted to do was go back to sleep. After two 12 oz cups of this, I am wide awake but not the least bit jittery.

(I tried a sample of this for the CommuniTEA)
Wow, this combination is just plain awful! I don't prefer mint, licorice, or fennel in my tea, so this ended up being as bad as expected. This is reminiscent of chai but worse somehow. :(

A good tea for if you're sick!

Even if you're healthy it's not a bad tea at all. Very pepperminty.

I'm writing this review based on a communitea packet, and so my sample might not have been representative of this tea. I tasted mild pepper and ginger which were eclipsed by a smooth, weak green tea. Mildly medicinal and soothing, I found the tea bland overall. This could be my own bias, but I prefer zingy ginger or alfalfa-thick green tea to chase my colds away, or a throat numbing preparation to get me through the rough days. So for taste, I can't recommend this at all. But I was feeling a bit down this morning and I am feeling better now, so maybe this brew somehow delivers?

A feel better tea that certainly does it’s job! Has a nice blend of licorice, peppermint, and ginger. Although it smells a bit medicinal from the licorice root, the predominant flavor is minty. I think this would be great for a sore throat or soothing a runny nose.

Smooth green tea provides a nice base for this blend. Peppermint and ginger were the dominant flavors with the tea. I didn't taste any fennel or cardamom. I expect the licorice was smoothing things out, but the flavor didn't jump out, nor did any pepper. The ginger was mild enough to not be spicy, just flavorful. Nice blend if you're looking for something without a bite.

Today's communiTEA packet opened to yield a strange scent. It was very herbal smelling, with hints of ginger and earthy roots. Brewed this as suggested for 3 minutes at 180°F produced a yellow green tea. After a sleepless night, the concept of this tea will hopefully ensure a speedy recovery.

The herbal melange continues into the tea's flavor, making it earthy, spicy, and slightly sweet from the fennel, ginger and licorice roots. The finish is a bit minty with a cooling sensation, with a lingering bitterness and astringency.

This tea is a very herbal in a medicinal sort of way. This could either be off putting or to be expected for those who enjoy herbal medicine style teas. This one isn't particularly my favorite, but it reminds me of some other 100% herbal blends that I've tried. The green tea adds something extra, maybe it's the caffeine and astringency. Some other herbal blends include more licorice root and taste much sweeter and smoother. Perhaps the green tea accentuates more of the powerful ginger and fennel seed flavors, so it's a bit strong, but ok.

I can definitely smell the licorice, peppermint, and green tea upon opening the CommuniTEA packet. Once brewed the licorice faded into the background for me, and it tastes mainly like a peppermint green tea. There is a nice full and toasty base flavor from the tea leaves, with a minty cooling effect layered on top. I do get a very subtle peppery spice from the ginger and peppercorns, mainly just a light tingle. Couldn't taste any cardamom or cloves. Overall was a nice minty green tea, but would prefer something with stronger warming spices like the double ginger tea if I'm going to use it to soothe a cold.

185 degrees for 3 minutes. The dry leaves smelled strongly of mint, black pepper and licorice. The brew is an interesting combo of the vegetal flavor of the green tea with a minty finish and oddly spicy aftertaste. Hmm, not sure about this one...

This is a good tasting feel better tea. It was nice to try this tea with Communitea. I will likely keep this on hand for allergy and cold seasons

Mild. If I had to describe this in one word, it would be mild. The green tea flavors were mild. The spice mixture was mild. Based on the combo of ingredients I would have thought there would be strong flavors and something zingy happening in my mouth, but there wasn't. I really could only identify mint, and was at a loss to identify any other flavors (I wonder if maybe my packet just didn't get a good mix). It was fine, and as a wellness tea it was drinkable. I received this tea as part of the CommuniTEA box, which provides a single portion of a random tea every day. As it is a singular portion, and blends may not be balanced, that may color my review. Alright, disclaimer out of the way, let's move on.

This tea smells overwhelmingly of mint. Understandable, as mint always overpowers in scents, though at least there is some level of other spices behind it. I don't really smell any green tea, though, so I'm interested to see how it will all blend together. The tea is a mixture of leaves and petals and some peppercorns, though there's also quite a bit of smaller debris, whether from crushed leaves or other spices, I'm not sure.

I steeped this tea for the recommended 3 minutes at 180 degree F water, and the tea appeared to be a slightly cloudy (likely from the broken leaves and spices) yellow-green with good color. It smells of mint, primarily, and any level of other spices seem to have been overpowered by that. It's not an unpleasant taste. Primarily tasting of mint with a few spices coming in at the very tail end, I don't taste any of the green tea within. Adding sugar further helps to bring some of those spices such as the ginger and pepper at the end to the fore, but I don't taste the fennel, nor the licorice, which I had been looking forward to.

Overall, it's an interesting tea, however I'd be more interested in a version without green tea so that I could steep it at a higher temperature and longer without worrying about the tea growing bitter. While enjoyable, I think that would make it a far more enjoyable and pleasant cup. In regards to it's medicinal value...I don't see much purpose in that. I've had other teas that would be a far more effective medicinal tea in my opinion, so I don't think I'd buy it for that purpose.

This warming, energetic, and full-flavored green tea was a refreshing sip today. I felt lucky to receive a well-balanced loose tea mix in my CommuniTEA packet. All of the very aromatic ingredients were there to brew into a golden green liquor that smelled mainly of peppermint tea. I steeped the 3 grams at 175F (slightly lower than the recommended 180F) for 3:30 minutes, adding the extra 30 seconds to compensate for the lower temp. No bitterness was detected.

I sipped when the tea was comfortable to drink and the main peppermint flavor was well rounded and nicely supported by the other complimentary spicy flavors. As the tea cooled, the ginger and licorice flavors came out more for me with the telltale zing of peppercorn lingering on my tongue at the finish. I did not notice any astringency after draining two cups. A very flavorful 8 oz. resteep was possible at 175F for 3 min.

I enjoyed two cups plain and preferred the taste of the peppermint and buddy spices to remain true and unsweetened. It gave me such pleasure to sip something so tasty and soothing today. My world became a nicer place instantly, one of warmth and peace.

Based on the CommuniTEA packet: The mint is a predominant flavor and I can taste the ginger and licorice in there too. This isn't something I would drink all the time but its not bad for a medicinal tasting tea.

Green tea, ginger and mint to calm the mind and the stomach when feeling out of sorts. I was afraid the licorice and fennel would outpace the flavor of the mint and ginger but I was pleasantly surprised that it was mild.

It looked like a bunch of herbs and spices had escaped from my pantry and into my communiTEA packet overnight! Most everybody was present and jiggling with excitement. However, the cloves decided to stay in the pantry. I’ll take care of them at a later date. Strong peppermint aromas were noted.

I performed a 175°F steep ‘cause I don’t have a 180 button on my steeper. I steeped for two and a half minutes to make-up for the lower temperature.

When hot, there was an appropriate amount of moderate astringency from the licorice and fennel that caused the back sides of my tongue to curl and pucker! The licorice stick I noted in my packet earlier was really doing a number! Mild peppermint and ginger flavors were noted, Black peppercorns supplied moderate zings on my taste buds. I added ¼ teaspoon of sugar to sweeten things and bring out more flavors.

When warm, moderate licorice flavors, without the astringency, were noted. Mild peppercorn zings were still present. The cardamom provided mild menthol flavors. Peppermint and ginger flavors were mild. Of course, no clove flavors were noted. Buttery green tea flavors were mild.

Towards finish, the green tea provided a buttery smoothness that melded all players into a very pleasant multi-layered sip! This blend was a fine display of different spice and herb flavors, and how well they can combine their efforts into one pleasant drink! However, a second steep was weak with muddled flavors. (2 mins 30 secs @ 175ºF, ¼ tsp sugar)

Peppermint tea is not for me. I could taste the flavors of the other ingredients, but none of them came close to the peppermint. I might drink this to ease dyspepsia or clear out stuffy nose during allergy season, but tea is a diuretic and I stay away from it when I'm truly sick for fear of becoming dehydrated.
