This tea was okay. I am not a fan of anise or fennel but hoped the peppermint might counter these. Unfortunately it did not. The anise was too much for me. I’m glad I tried it but won’t be on my list.
Herbal tisane contains ingredients that may help with both physical discomfort and milk production for nursing mothers.

CommuniTEA portion: Enjoyed this tea. Not overly medicinal at all. Definitely a savory herbal taste. Mostly chamomile and fennel which actually blended well. I am not at all a licorice fan but the notes were subtle. I wouldn't drink this often but a nice blend for it's intent.
Some days, I really wish I was more of a fan of licorice flavor. This would have been a delicious cuppa if I didn't have such an aversion to that flavor. New Mommas who like an anise taste could find this to be a nice, relaxing cup of tea and a helpful reminder that self care is also important as you travel the journey of motherhood.
This tea is good I like the taste (190 @ 5 min.) put Little Rock sugar, like the spice.🫖☕️
Not a terrible tea, and actually more palatable than i thought it would be, but still far to much licorice flavor for me.
CommuniTEA 5/8/22: I thought I would absolutely hate this tea, but it was absolutely delicious! I greatly dislike fennel and chamomile and tea so looking at the ingredients I thought this would be a tee that I would have to dump out. Instead I found this to be utterly delightful, refresh, and a great beverage to have after dinner. I put in 1/2 tbsp of raw sugar, and I buried it at 212 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. This is why I love trying new through the CommuniTEA because I would never have chosen this for myself.
it was an alright tea. i mostly tasted chamomile with a bit of licorice, probably from the fennel. it was greatly improved with some milk and honey! i cant speak for the medical benefits, but its not something i think id reach for regardless.
I enjoy camomile tea so this was a great herbal blend for me. Loved the aroma and taste. Beautiful golden color. Great with or without sweets
Todays communiTEA was interesting. Very medicinal...I wasn't a fan of the fennel. Full disclosure...I am not a nursing Mom, but had I known about this 16 yrs ago...I think I would have tried it for it's intended purpose.
I like fennel, anise, and chamomile in food stuffs, but don't care for them mixed in a tea together. The concept of the tea sounds great for new Moms so a great one for CommuniTea to feature on Mother's Day.
Very herbaceous tasting, and kind of medicinal. It just tasted odd to me, but I finished it all.
I can more or less make out the flavors of all the ingredients and none of them seem to clash. The main flavors are the chamomile and fennel, but there are notes of mint, lemon, and anise. It's a warm, relaxing tea with a complex combination of flavors that work fairly well together.
The addition of chamomile and peppermint seems to help keep the fenugreek/anise flavor from dominating too much. I wouldn’t gravitate toward this blend for “fun,” but it definitely tastes better than a bagged lactation support tea I’ve tried from a different brand.
An interesting herbal blend that is caffeine free. It can be enjoyed either hot or cold.
I steeped the tea at 212 for over 10 minutes and still found this tea incredibly watery and bland. What flavor is present is a very medicinal mix of fennal and mint.
Ok…I like fennel but in my Italian sausage…not in my tea. This was just not cutting it for me either the fennel and lemon combo. Not one I would purchase for myself for its benefits.
I was a little hesitant to try this when I realized it was a lactation tea, but I brewed it anyways and it's good! I can't say anything in regards to the lactation claims, but it is a cozy herbal tea.
I can't speak to the health benefits but here is my flavor review: Fennel and aniseed flavors are strong throughout in this blend, with a mild peppermint sparkle. I like aniseed, but there's nothing really special about the flavors in this blend.
Nice herbal taste! I really enjoyed the chamomile, peppermint, anise and fennel all together. I used adagio Tisanes honey to bring out all the flavors.
Fennel is something that I wouldn't think to put in a tea given how strong it is, so I was surprised to see it listed in this mix. I like chamomile and peppermint, but the fennel made this an odd flavor combination that just wasn't for me.
I love Herbal Tisanes, but this blend just went flat- very bad tasting, with the fennel (way too much) and distorted the entire blend. Very disappointed!
Not my cup of tea! I really can't stand fennel, aniseed, or peppermint, so this was a tough one for me. Glad I tried it, but I won't be back for more.
If someone were to ever ask me to envision what an Italian sausage would taste like in liquid form it would be this tea! It tasted with every sip like I was biting into a sausage that was full of fennel seeds. I must note I do not like the flavors of fennel and anise but in subtle notes I can tolerate it. However this tea was so strong tasting I agree with some of the reviewer‘s who posted that it tasted more savory than anything else. I would never ever buy this tea it’s just not well let’s say my cup of tea. So one star for me and hopefully I never come across something like it again. (10 mins @ 212°F)
My palate has found the predominant flavor notes to be chamomile and lemon verbena with a hint of anise and mint. All in all I find this to be a pleasant non-caffeine cuppa and one I would definitely buy.
I am also thinking this could be another tisane that would be easy to cook/bake with as an ingredient.
Steeping Notes — 195 degrees for 5+ minutes in my tea traveler, grandpa style.
I was intimidated by the list of ingredients, but pleasantly surprised by the taste of this tea. It is crisp and a bit sweet, not too medicinal. I find it more pleasant than many wellness teas out there, though in general I can't say what tastes in particular stand out.
I enjoyed the anise and fennel with the hint of mint what a drink surprise.
A nice herbal tea that reminds me of a normal chamomile...I like the anise too, though I normally like to use it in recipes and not necessarily tea.
CommuniTEA Sample: I do enjoy a lot of herbal tisanes and the herby flavors that go with them. I do like what I think is the anise and fennel flavors in this tea and overall, it is a pleasing, relaxing sip.
Nice minty, lemony tisane with a chamomile smoothness. Not a fan of the fennel and anise seed though.
This is a tasty wellness tea, the flavor takes me back to the days when I was nursing my little ones. Chamomile and the licorice flavor of the fennel are what I’m noticing the most. Not a tea I’d buy as I’m past that stage of life, but one I’d definitely recommend for new moms!
Calming herbal blend with chamomile, peppermint, and anise flavors. If you enjoy anise, this tea is for you. Sip, sip away!
Minty chamomile with a hint of fennel, this was an ok tea for me but not something I would choose to drink. Tasted healthy and ...dusty? Like a dust storm that's good for you.
CommuniTEA review: todays blend was very chamomile heavy, which isn’t my jam, but the fennel and mint came together to produce a really nice effect and leave a presently tingling mouthfeel that lingered. Steeped at 205 for 5 minutes.
Anise is not top of my list for ingredients in tea blends however this was a decent cuppa. Not something I would want to drink often just because of my preferences.
Mamma mia is an interesting blend of herbs. This is a surprisingly good and relaxing tea. Aniseed and chamomile were forward with a hint of peppermint.
I cold brewed today's tea and it is very pleasant. I wouldn't be opposed to trying this tea hot either.
Not sure when Adagio added this, but I drank similar teas throughout 3+ years of nursing and definitely would have appreciated this blend. I was very fortunate to be able to nurse my kids for so long where other women in my family struggled and I do think the herbs helped, but your mileage may vary.
Learning something new!
Fennel mimics estrogen
And relieves cramping
Anise helps with pain
Reducing inflammation
A powerful seed!
Not my preferred tea
Pleasantly medicinal
Would drink as needed!

This tea is okay. However, I wouldn't really call it a favorite.
A magnificant medicinal treasure to make the tastebuds dance with wonder. Lotsa various health supportive ingredients, within! Tea drinking New Mamma's: If you are seeking the benefits of the namesake, you may find this is a nice and best option--due to the array and layers of spices & herbals-- than other teas (that may be quite boring in taste) which propose the same intention.
Today's CommuniTea packet is mamma mia, made with fennel seed, aniseed, coriander, lemon verbena, chamomile flowers, peppermint leaves and fenugreek. I'm not a chamomile fan, but I gave this to my daughter when she was expecting and she thought it was lovely.
This tea has mostly a chamomile taste and scent, with a little mint and anise/licorice added in. It is a pleasant, relaxing cup to drink when you need to unwind.
Unable to comment on proposed health benefits, but I do enjoy the taste of this tea. I like anise so this tea is very pleasant and provides a nice and refreshing aftertaste. (212F for 5min)
As i’m not a nursing mother or plan to be one anytime soon, I rated this tea on the taste only. For me this was an earthy brew showcasing the anise and chamomile with a hint of mint on the back end. Moms could add a touch of honey and then I think this one would be a pretty nice sip! Happy Sipping!
I was really skeptical of this one, as it was listed as a health tea, but the anise seed and chamomile taste great together!
Must like fennel to drink this tea. I sampled this tea as part of the CommuniTEA May 2022 box.
This is a weekend of medicinal-tasting teas in the CT. I think of tea and tea-making as a healing practice of mindfulness so I don’t mind a little aniseed flavor in my chamomile tea, sipped before bed. I steeped for 5 minutes at 212 degrees and added a little agave.
One sip and down the drain it went. The fennel was overpowering. I loved a good breastfeeding tea when I was in that stage of life. This one is a big miss.
This tea surprised me. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would . Anise isn't a desired ingredient for me, but all blended well together for a smooth cup of tea.
I am so mad I didn't know about this when I was nursing my daughter. I had to use bagged fenugreek and it was horrible. This would have been so much better. If u are planning to nurse your baby buy it, totally helps with milk production and Adagio's tastes better then other brands. Happy Mother's day 2022!
