Um, full disclosure, I was not expecting this to actually give me a jump start but it absolutely does. This is now a staple of my mornings. It's delicious and it works. I have trouble saying the same about coffee (which either is too light and does not work at all or goes to the extreme and makes me jittery with a headache.) This tea just gives me a morning boost, which is perfect.

★★★★★

I am obsessed with this tea! The smell is very sweet and taste-wise is like drinking a cup of warm honey. It also wakes me up in the morning without the typical jittery feeling I often get with coffee.

★★★★★

A superb way to get your morning going with robust flavor and a hardy scent.

★★★★★

This tea is nice! It doesn't give me as much energy as matcha, but it has such an interesting flavor. This was my first experience with a mate tea and with safflower in a tea, so I'm not sure what's in here that I like so much, but it's a pleasure.

★★★★★

One of my favorite morning teas! Has a nice rich flavor and a huge kick of caffeine.

★★★★☆

Love the taste! Spicy, with a cinnamon taste. Add a little creamer; it's delicious.

★★★★★

My husband and I love this tea! It tastes like honey and raisin bread, which I wouldn't have thought would make a good tea, but it's fantastic! I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I love having a good strong caffeinated tea in the mornings. This tastes different from any other tea I've ever had before. We'll be getting this one a lot!

★★★★☆

It does what it says on the tin- gives a great amount of energy! My only complaint is that it gets a little bitter at the bottom of the cup, but i may have over-steeped it.

★★★★★

This is a great tea for those mornings where you may need an extra little kick in the pants to get the day rolling. Nice and mild caffeine boost and a great, fragrant tea for first thing in the morning or even in the afternoon, if you've got a long evening ahead.

★★★☆☆

The flavors leave much to be desired, but it does give a good kick of caffeine. I mix a half serving in with my earl grey lavender when I need the extra boost in the morning so I don't have to taste the Jump Start too much.

★★★★★

Great start to the day. Enough caffeine to get me going and keep me going, but not so much it makes me jumpy. And a great taste and aroma, especially with a touch of honey.

Great substitute for that extra cup of coffee in the morning!

★★★★☆

I was *so* delighted by this tea! I bought the sample primarily for the caffeine aspects, and didn't expect I'd enjoy the taste as much as I do! A warm, sweet, uplifting flavor. I'll definitely be buying more. I haven't been sleeping too well and so this has become an instant staple of the mornings I work as a nanny, when sleep following me around just isn't an option.

I've been making a cup of this every morning and gotta say it gives me the right punch.

★★★★☆

I had never tried mate before, so this was a new experience. It gave me a burst of energy, but in the calm way that tea does, instead of a jittery coffee way. The most noticeable flavor in this tea was cinnamon, and I really can't remember there being any other prominent flavors.

★★★★★

Typically, I drink yerba mate in the morning. I got jump start as a sampler and thought it was great. Will buy more.

I have never had toasted mate before and now I am a convert! The mate and black tea are very nice together. All the flavors in this complement each other very well. This has quickly become a staple for me.

I tried this tea this morning. It is definitely caffeinated, but I do not feel jittert, must alert. Great way to start my Monday!

Good morning tea to give you a little caffeine boost, but doesn’t give you the jitters. A nice toasted, nutty flavor.

I brewed one teaspoon in nearly 9 oz., of boiling water. It goes well with a dash of almond milk and has a hearty and slightly smoky flavor.

I can neither put my finger on any specificflavorin this tea, not confirm that it does anything to wake me up. Unfortunately not one of my favorites.

I was very excited about this tea because of the caffeine content, cocoa and safflower notes. It definitely has a slightly woody note to it, and looks pretty in the cup, but the flavor is a bit lackluster for my liking. Its very smooth, but to me, a little bland.

Absolutely lovely way to wake up, haven't had much luck finding a tea that's works for me.

I'm very picky about what tea I drink when I wake up. Jump Start has comete won me over. Gives a great caffiene kick without any jitters. Wonderful flavors.

★★★★★

My first time trying this tea. It’s great in the morning and helps me get ready for the day.

★★★★☆

The taste is good. Not excellent but good. Definitely has a caffeine kick!

★★★★★

great for mornings where I want to cut down on my coffee intake!

★★★★★

I like this tea. It has a really smooth taste to me. There was no bitterness or out there flavor. It didn't seem to have a 'wake up' effect on me. Of course I'm an obsessive coffee drinker. I can drink a cup at bedtime and still sleep.

★★★★★

Great! I brew one cup and I feel energized all day. I don’t feel a crash around noon like I do with coffee. I highly recommend this tea!

I work third-shift primarily, meaning I am often up at odd hours in order to experience life alongside those with a first-shift time-table. This means that I am either regularly exhausted, or completely without the contact of friends and family. I needed a drink that kept me alert and aware without drowning me in unhealthy additives, and this fits the bill perfectly. It completely wakes the senses and clears the mind. Just the kick a person with irregular sleep schedules needs.

Perfect to kick the day off. Flavorful and chocolatey tasting. Really does the trick

A decent mate to get the day started. A little high on the jitter scale for me to drink all morning, so stick to one cup!

★★★★★

This tea smells great, and it was worth the steep. Slightly nutty flavor and was a nice cup for a cold day.

My go to on a work day! Great substitute for coffee!

The Jumpstart tea smelled like sweet cinnamon when I opened my CommuniTEA packet. I steeped at 190°F for 3 minutes, and had a mild cinnamon chocolate flavored tea that was more pronounced when a bit of sweetener was added. The flavor also seemed to intensify as the tea cooled. I didn't detect any smoky or tobacco flavor from the mate. Thinking that I should have steeped the tea longer, I let the second cup steep for 30 minutes and it was still a pleasant cup. Although high in caffeine, I didn't notice a buzz. I did notice that I was alert and focused, even though working on the computer all day.

It's earthy and woody but but notes of chocolate. My kids claimed they could smell the cinnamon from the other room. I didn't expect to like this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. I could see this going in the morning rotation.

This tea is aptly named. Cinnamon and cocoa are the first aromas out of the Communitea packet. The toasted mate flavor is the strong base in which the spices, black tea and a nuttiness add layers of taste in this seriously caffeinated brew.

I'm rather new to the Mate experience and this really encouraged me to want more of this blend. I really enjoyed this

I smelled cola on opening the CommuniTEA packet. I did not remember nor have time to cold rinse first, so I steeped at 190 degrees for 3 min. As it steeped I noted a strong smoky aroma and I was nervous I would not like it. I was wrong. It was smooth and wonderful. I added 1 tsp Monk fruit sweetener and a splash of milk. I wish I could have drank the entire cup but much of it spilled out of my travel mug! I will note I did have a mild caffeine-related headache but I honestly am not sure if due to too much or not enough!

This tea is not for the faint of heart. It's strong taste couldn't be dealt with unless diluted and even then, it just tastes like those flavored waters from the store. The caffeine made my chest hurt as I had to walk the yard with my chickens to stop feeling so jittery. The mate, of what I could taste past the bitter black, was slightly woody.

Nutty and delicious, with a slightly bitter aftertaste on the tongue. I can definitely taste the cocoa as well, which is a nice and unique combo. I didn't taste cinnamon.

★★★★☆

I treated this blend primarily like yerba mate, rinsing it to remove small particles before steeping for 3 minutes in warm-but-not-hot water. I only realized after preparing my cup that there was black tea - meaning that I should have raised the steep temperature to 190 F. Kola nut flavors predominated, enhanced by the mate, and undergirded by a strong note of cocoa nib. The cocoa nib and black tea were trying to say something, but needed a higher steep to fully come into play. It's an interesting cup, but as far as black-tea-mate blends go, I far prefer Reindeer Fuel, and I like Night Owl better as a tea with kola nut. (cool rinse, 3 mins @ 160 F, no additions)

This was a tasty blend for today’s CommuniTEA! Toasted mate is always fun as it tastes slightly different with each sip. It tastes the way coffee smells, with a hint of chocolate as well. The cinnamon blended nicely with this as well. A great caffeine boost with no jittery side effects!

Not very familiar with mate tea. I steeped it for 8 min. I agree with another post, root beer bottle caps. I did enjoy the flavor.it was very smooth and nutty. Not spicy

I enjoyed the nutty profile of this tea. It seemed to help me gain some focus as I worked through some textbook reading this morning.

The smell of my CommuniTEA packet reminded me of Raisin Bran cereal. I rinsed the leaves and steeped at a lower temperature like people in the chat recommended. The taste is bland but not in a bad way. I'm not sure how to describe it. My cup was fine, nothing special about it. There was no bitterness. I resteeped a bit longer than my original cup and it tasted about the same. I debated adding sugar but it was very nice without so I didn't. I'd definitely drink it again but I don't think I'd buy more than a sample size.

Its good, there is a very sweet cinnamon aftertaste, with the black tea making the toasted mate taste more like black tea.
