Very woodsy/nutty tea, works quite well with the addition of a bit of milk and honey!
Update 1/1/22:
This was a lot more coffee-like than I remembered. I am not a coffee drinker, I don’t like the taste. But I added cream and cinnamon honey and it became delightful!
1/21/21:
I brewed this up and tasted it before seeing what it was. Jumpstart, good thing I drink my tea in the morning! It smelled great, lots of cinnamon. Less so in the brewed tea. Not sure I’m tasting chocolate, I would describe the flavor as “Smokey”. I do get some cinnamon and nuttiness. It’s pleasant. I can’t speak for the energy boost yet. Didn’t need extra caffeine today but we’ll see if I have a very productive day!
I try to be careful with caffeine, which is helpful to me and the people around me. Yet New Years Day is the perfect time to try because the lack of sleep. The flavor is very smooth and malty and . I haven't noticed any jitters which is good but I am not going to be able to take a nap today which is not good.
What a caffeine kick! This tea has an unusual flavor profile. The toasty flavor of the mate, the smoothness of the black, the spice of the cinnamon, and the dark chocolate from the cocoa nibs blend together to make a potent sip. Very nice!
CommuniTEA Sample: I enjoy many mates and this one is no different. The mate works well with the black teas and the cocoa and cinnamon notes jump out into the flavors. Had this tea with some Belgian chocolate and the sugar and chocolate flavored really boosted the tea. It was quite nice!
I’m never going to be Team Mate. The caffeine in it just hits me weird and I don’t love the taste. But I did like the cinnamon in this blend and the note it brought. If you want a high powered caffeine fix or an unusual blend, this bears trying. For me, it’s just not my cup of tea! Happy Sipping!
With the caffeine that is in this tea, I'm happy to reduce my morning coffee from two cups to one with this one. Don't ever drink this one at night if you need your sleep. It is a good coffee replacement if you like cinnamon. The liquid is very black.
Upon first opening today’s packet, I was treated to the aroma of chocolate and cinnamon, which was a great start in my experiencing this tea. My packet included 4 oz of tea leaves.
I added 11 grams of tea sugar to my 12 oz mug as I waited for my tea water to reach 200° F. Once the tea water was ready, I rinsed my tea leaves with 2 Tbsp of lukewarm water just prior to adding the 200° F water. I steeped my tea for 4 minutes and saved my leaves for a future steeping later today.
Once steeped, this tea issued an aroma that was an interesting mixture of nuttiness and Coke… I’m guessing because of the kola nuts.
My first impression upon tasting the tea was that it tasted a bit like Coke. As the tea cooled, however, it developed an aroma that reminded me of honey and the flavour seemed to me to become a blend of Coke, nuttiness, and traces of honey.
I really enjoyed this tea, as I generally do mate teas, and I can see myself wanting to get more in the future. At the very least, I will resteep it later today so that I can get the most out of my tea leaves.
This tea smelled very good in the packet. It reminded me of pumpkin pie.
I don’t know what mate is but this tea was pretty good! I used maple syrup as a sweetener. The taste is not as strong as the smell but it’s good!! I wouldn’t buy this myself because I don’t love fall flavors/scents but if you do, this is great for you!
I like that it is high in caffeine.
I never can get the hang of mate tea. I think I steeped mine too long, or too hot, though I tried to follow the directions. It ended up very bitter and hard to drink. I am giving it three stars because I think the problem was drinker-error but I avoid buying teas like this because I can NEVER seem to get it right.
Caffeine zip & flavor, what's not to like on the first morning of 2022? I like the blend of chocolate & cinnamon in this tea but neither stands out. Together they create a nice flavor. I'm enjoying with a splash of half & half & a drip of maple syrup.

This is a nice cinnamon tea that has strong flavor. I think this would be a good tea for people who are coffee lovers.

Not impressed! I enjoyed the fun of the caffeine to keep me awake for the 2022 ball to drop from NYC. The blend tasted like cough syrup...not a good thing.
I give 3 stars for the super jolt of caffeine, but the taste was lacking. Very strange, just left a bad taste in my mouth and it takes awhile to go away.. Nice Caffeine (no jitters) no to taste.
I keep these bags stashed in my desk at work and I enjoy them immensely. They are strong in both flavor and caffeine!

The tea taste great as always, but it came in a tin at a smaller amount than I ordered. The tin itself is wasteful and came extremely dented. I can't even give it away. At least I gave a metal recycle bin at work.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this and can't stop drinking it on cold mornings. I decided my 4oz tin wasn't enough and ordered an entire bag. A great mix of toasty roasty flavors enjoyed with a tiny bit of stevia and a glug of half and half.
Has a decently nice taste and, interestingly, smells to me like apple pie. Not sure why, but it's pleasant. Also, while it's definitely caffeinated, I didn't notice feeling any more 'awake' than I would from a regular cup of tea.
This tea has a really unique smoky spicy flavor. And as the name states, it does give me a good boost in the morning when I m trying to wake up.
Delicious tea - tasted slightly like a very slight chai flavor, while still having a bit of green tea type flavor.

A very different cup than many, even if one is used to yerba mate. A nutty flavor dominates this brownish red liquor, with the cinnamon a strong secondary flavor. This definitely doesn't taste like tea, but if you like interesting flavors to start the day, this is a great one.

I truly miss my morning coffee and that caffeine boost. That said, this is a fantastic alternative. Love the flavor without a heavy aftertaste. It’s light and fresh. The boost wears off quicker than coffee. But no heartburn or jittery feelings either.

This tea had a really complex fragrance prior to steeping: cocoa, cinnamon, nuts and something else I couldn't quite pin down (perhaps the kola nut or safflower?). It was a very pleasing scent overall. The cinnamon and cocoa scent remained after steeping. The taste was just as intriguing as the smell. The cinnamon and cocoa blended nicely and the caffeine was very effective at waking me up! A slight bitter aftertaste - like coffee - and a bit of nuttiness was noted. I enjoyed this tea.
This will be my morning tea for when coffee just doesn't cut it
This is a perfect to wake up w in the morning. I orginally got this for my husband for his early morning wakes up but ended up loving it for myself as well.
I can't drink coffee, but if I was trying to switch over from coffee to tea, I'd go with this. It's such an interesting set of flavors that I never got tired of drinking it - new dimensions presented themselves with each cup - and its caffeine boost feels stable and gradual instead of a rush with steep ups and downs. I'll be drinking this tea for years to come - I love it.
I enjoy this as my first cup of the morning but that's not my favorite cup. It's that second steep for 10 minutes today best draws our the flavor. I had to order the largest size cos I got be dads hooked.
I got this as a gift for my dad and he loved it!! He said it woke him right up without making him jittery
there are just sometimes one is a bit less energetic and this is a great tea to try out for that! i'm increasingly liking mate and the flavor blend is lovely

I really like this! Mate doesn't usually go over so well with me, but this blend is a great morning blend for a change of pace from my usual Earl Grey. I tried it with milk and sweetener.

Everything about this tea screams 'autumn/winter'. There's a dominant cinnamon flavor with subtle notes of chicory, dry toast, and a little sweetness that add a nice complexity.
Personally, I'm not in love with those fall/winter flavors, which is why it only gets 4/5 from me, but if this description seems like it's right up your alley, you'll probably find a 5/5 with Jump Start.

Has that extra little boost of caffiene to get you going in the morning. Light fruity accents, nice with honey and lemon.
