Love this tea! Great for stomach aches and heart burn, must put honey in it for the perfect taste
This has been the perfect additional to my healthy teas. My insides always feel better.
This one is okay. It did not upset my sensitive stomach, but did not wow my taste buds.
Tastes good and *technically* works. By making you poo… sooo be warned?
really works oh my god if you need to go get this!
This tea is soothing to my belly. My daughter-in-law loved it so I bought her a tea pot and large pkg of this tea. She says she always has a cup at her desk while working at home.
Not my favourite flavour but good for an upset stomach
Helped with settling my stomach after getting sick with COVID, although the smell of the leaves was slightly off-putting. @adagioteas
i do truly believe my husbands stomach feels better after drinking this - or at least he acts like it lol. It taste good
Happy, happy! Gave this as a birthday gift. The recipient was thrilled!
If you’re not into spices like anise then you wont enjoy this. Although it does soothe your stomach, I would rather turn to other tea since this has a very overpowering flavor profile for spices like ginger, anise, and licorixe @adagioteas
I got this to help tummy ease during the holidays. Usually tummy aid teas have strange mix of flavors. This one seemed like a perfect symphony I could continue to drink. Yum
Very nice after a rough dinner, soothes the insides
Full of flavor, no bitterness. I sweeten with 1/4 teaspoon of raw sugar for 6oz. This is one I prefer in the afternoon. The ginger is subtle. I drink this one about 3 to 4 times a week.
Hated this tea. I tried to drink it hot and cold. I could not drink it. Very heavy herbal taste
Great ingredients to quell an unhappy tummy, but quite medicinal, if I had an unhappy belly ide brave through the taste but that would be the only reason I would reach for it.
This tea accomplishes its mission! I found it easy to sip unsweetened as the licorice and anise lent a sweet taste. A hint of ginger flavor tamed the natural sweetness while the senna leaf and pu-erh tea gave the tea an earthy, herbal taste. This wouldn’t be a casual sip for me, it’s too on point for that. I didn’t find it unpleasant, though. And I’ve considered purchasing the Good for You Sampler Set with this tea included to have a few packets on hand.
My CT packet had 3 g/ 3 ½ tsp of what appeared to be all ingredients. Brewed 14 oz. at 212*F for 5 min., the caramel colored liquor was sweet enough to sip without sweetener but the milder 7 oz. resteep tasted better with a little agave added. 5 stars for its digestive help. But be careful if you have a sensitive system. This blend might work better than you think.
This tea wasn't nearly as licorice forward as I thought (and hoped) it would be. Instead, it has a mellow, earthy, almost toasty flavor that I actually enjoyed.
As for the concerns about the ingredients, there is an adage in the medical community that comes to mind: if it can have an effect, it can have a side effect. Any tea that has any herb in it can have an effect, which means it can have a side effect. Likewise, another medical adage comes to mind: only the dose makes the poison. In other words, just because an herb has potential side effects at certain doses doesn't mean it will absolutely have that side effect at any dose.
In summary: if you aren't sure whether or not an herb in an herbal tea is right for you, simply consult your doctor instead of getting mad at the folx who provide the herbal tea.
Tried this tea as a CommuniTEA sample. Very herby in flavor, but only able to pick out the slippery elm. Best sipped hot with a little honey. Can’t speak to its effectiveness for GI issues.
I found this to be a perfect cup before bed after eating loads of food on Thanksgiving. The small amount of caffeine didn’t affect my sleep, and I woke up feeling less bloated than usual. No cramps or anything weird. Just soothing herbals. The taste wasn’t too bad for me, but I’m fairly used to licorice-y brews.
It does the trick of what you need it to do which I found out the first time I drank this in a portion box. Unfortunate the flavor was just not there for me. I think it was the fennel that bothered me. I try to avoid it as much as possible. My husband however mostly tasted licorice flavor.
Oh I SO love licorice <3 This tea is so great! We'll see if it settles my stomach like its supposed to :)
Delicious balanced herbal blend. Good timing as well. I enjoyed the flavor of the puerh and the ginger, with the sweetness of the licorice.
I typically dislike licorice, though I’ll pinch my nose and swallow it down in a wellness tea. This tasted better than I expected and I didn’t have trouble finishing my cup. Unfortunately, senna doesn’t seem to do much for me though, so I’ll probably just stick with peppermint for upset tummies in the future.
Interestingly, this reminded me of certain soups my mother has made. I think it's the anise. Anyway, as a result my brain goes, 'soooup?' when I drink this, so not really for me.
I could see drinking this for an upset tummy but not just cause
The aroma of this blend was not bad but the taste was off putting. If I needed help with “that issue” I would probably drink this but not something I would choose otherwise. My cup only had a flake or two of pu-era and no orange. It was super heavy on the anise though. I tried a few sips then passes it off to my hubby, which is better that last year’s straight to the sink to dump out. 200° for 5 minutes.
Tried as a CommuniTEA sample. A pleasant enough flavor that mostly tastes of licorice. I just took a couple of sips because my belly is already happy. If you're looking for the help senna offers and you like anise, you'll probably like this tea.
Not bad, not great. Pu-erh is such a strong tea, I don't see how it could ever not overpower the tea...
Sampled this as part of CommuniTea and found this to not be my cup of tea. The licorice flavor was a bit too strong for my tastes and I think I will stick with mint-based teas for tummy upset.
The anise was noticeable and the licorice flavor came through. Not bad, simply not a top favorite.
A decent tea with helpful ingredients. Im not a fan of licorice but I found that flavor was more tolerable for me when it was hot because as it cooled off it was just too strong for my preferences.
Nice ginger and orange notes. I added a slice of ginger and a little honey.
Great tea!
I can’t speak to its efficacy, as my stomach is just fine today, but the taste wasn’t bad. It is similar in taste to the throat comfort tea, but the licorice taste isn’t nearly as strong
I'm not a black licorice fan and at the time of tasting was not having any stomach problems. The tea was ok for today. I do love that adagio is looking at alternative ways to make people feel better.
If only my gastroenterologist would let me drink this instead of the stuff he prescribed me before my first colonoscophy. This is better than what I had to take in for that procedure. However, I prefer other teas Adagio has to offer including the ones I rated at three stars. I'm not a fan of licorice.
Perfect herbal to relax and sooth your belly. (especially after a good meal)
The fragrance was unpleasant, so I prepared to go “ick!” But I was surprised. This is a mellow, comforting blend. A touch of honey made it quite pleasant indeed!
I find this tea delicious, for me it isn't medicinal at all. I drink it with a wee bit of sweetener. It does have senna in it, so for some it may cause some abdominal discomfort. But its actually perfect for a day after a big meal like Thanksgiving
Nice herbal blend. A little sweet, with a soft, smooth taste.
This tea tastes like medicine, kind of weird for me. I could only drink a few sips then had to dump it.
Not a fan of this one. It smells like herbal medicine, and tastes like such. I dislike licorice flavour and it’s quite strong in this tea.
This tea is pleasant without any single notable flavor standing out. It did seem to help my tummy feel better, so it earns full points in my book.
CommuniTEA packet tasting, I prefer peppermint or ginger when my belly is yuck. The senna leaf can cause abdominal cramping, especially if too much is consumed. Nice to have in your tea cabinet for laxative use. I’ll still say happy sipping! 😉
Sadly I can’t stand the strong licorice flavor and don’t have a stomach issue for evaluating the effectiveness. There are other teas that work well without this flavor as well.
After reading the list of ingredients, I wasn't sure what this tea would taste like. I drank it Thanksgiving night after too much of a good thing. At the time I didn't realize it had a bit of caffiene. That didn't bother me one bit and I slept well. As far as the taste, it was better than I thought. Yes it does taste a bit medicinal but all those ingredients blend well. I actually enjoyed it. I didn't do a second steep just because of the senna. I might buy a sample bag to have on hand.
Not a fan of either licorice or aniseed so I was leery of this one. With a little honey it was better, and if it does it's job, I'm ok with it. Not something I would seek out. Second brew was lighter and more palatable for me.
A bit medicinal but not horrible. I like both slippery elm and anise though.
Be careful with this one, you guys, it will make you POOP LIKE MAD!!! It's the senna. This is basically a laxative tea. It tastes nasty (unless you like anise and licorice, which I don't) but it will give you the desired effect. Don't drink this one before you have to go in for work, trust me! You're welcome, lol. 😂
