Hello Debbie! We do not recommend microwaving water as it can become dangerous, but the mug is technically microwave safe.

What is the mesh size of the stainless steel infuser with the porcelain cup? Will it keep on very fine herbals or leaf sizes, such as roiboos?

Hello Phyllis! The infuser mesh is rather fine and will collect all but the very finest particles. It would be able to steep rooibos, yes!
