I love this little cup. I first used one at a restaurant and had to run out and buy my own.
Alright. Finally used my new IngenuiTEA 2 enough to have a handle on how I feel about it. My initial impression was that it was a little bigger and clunkier than the original. The wider body is definitely a change and takes some getting used to. That being said, I bought it for the plastic filter and because most of the reviews said it was easier to clean.
Oh boy is it ever easier to clean! I broke my original trying to pop the bottom piece back in. With the new model, they gave everything a little more give. The rubber bits more easily slide so it doesn't take much pressure at all to pop the pieces out or in. There are little slits in the bottom that guide the valve into place. The plastic filter didn't want to come out brand new, but after a couple of uses, it comes right out with a gentle tug while scraping out used tea leaves. The only thing that's harder to remove is the lid, but that doesn't bug me much. It still comes off. Most importantly, I don't feel like I'm afraid to break this one.
The drip tray is also useful. My counters are constantly tea stained as it is (I swear within an hour of using the magic eraser I've managed to spill more tea ). Version 2 doesn't drip a ton, but it drips just enough that I'm thankful there's a drip tray.
Finally, and this is probably my favorite bit, the placement of the words on the side is a decent eyeball measure for a standard size coffee cup. I don't have to mark this one to know where my preferred fill line is. I haven't tried filling it completely cause I don't normally use giant mugs for tea, but the wider base does fit over the largest mugs I have (about a 3in diameter at the top). I also haven't tried it on a teacup yet to know the ideal fill line there, but that's mostly because I haven't been drinking as much evening tea lately.
Overall, I was a little worried about the price point because I was afraid of breaking it within a month or two of getting it. If you're like me and that is one of your main concerns, I think the little extra money is worth it. The ease of pulling it apart has been a huge relief. The drip tray is a nice little extra. The plastic filter means no inevitable rust. And it is dishwasher safe, though I prefer to hand wash it most of the time. The only thing I'm not fond of is the size and shape of it. I find it's a little harder to store.
This makes a nice 2 cup of tea. It’s sturdy and well made. I love that it is dishwasher safe!
While I like this, I can t help but like the original better. The slight oval shape kind of throws me off. That and this is the exact model that Teavana used. Not even joking. I don t get it. Did Adagio buy the design once Teavana went out? Like I said, I just prefer the original.
We LOVE this new style of tea maker! It is sleek and slender and drains much more efficiently. The materials stay cleaner and the smaller footprint fits our kitchen very nicely. Am going to pick up two more shortly.
Just as easy to use as the first version! I actually like the plastic filter; easier to rinse clean than the metal.

Does its job well. However the lid broke after about a month (still usable, of course, but obviously easier to spill at that point). Thankfully Adagio is sending me a replacement outside of warranty. I definitely appreciate the customer service commitment! Hopefully the new lid doesn t break.

This has to be the coolest gadget I own... years ago I had one and my niece pinched it! I just love it. I take it on holidays, afternoons with family and friends, any time. The one thing I do is pour my water from my teapot into my cup before I put it in the IngenuiTEA2 so I get a perfect cuppa every time
It has a nice contemporary design and it is easy to use! I liked very much.
Finally I found something that works for my office. It is an excellent product and I plan on buying one for my mom!

I'm an idiot and tried to pour it like a normal teapot at first because I wasn't paying attention, but used properly and not stupidly, it's great!
The new IngenuiTea looks neat, too neat to put in a cupboard! And it works great, too! The IngenuiTea works by draining the infused tea out the bottom and into an awaiting teacup.
The tea leaves have plenty of time to infuse the water and are easy to get out of the unit by rinsing it a few times. A good product and a good buy.
I use this daily to make my tea. It s easy to fill and use, and cleaning it is as simple as rinsing it out with water and flipping it upside down on my dish rack.

I had the old one and it broke on me. I was very excited to get the newer version. The plastic mesh strainer is an improvement and this version is easier to clean. Great for filling up my travel mug every morning.
Love this. So convenient to use. I boil water in this via microwave. Then I add tea and let sit for 5 minutes. If adding sugar I put that in with tea.
This is an absolutely Fabulous tea steeper! I have purchased many for myself and friends over the years
A very nice upgrade to an already great tea pot. The new shape is easier to reach inside and pull apart. Most all other parts are identical to the previous version. The only downside was the one I got had the old generation strainer in it. The flat version.
You can t go wrong with either generation of the ingenuitea. Though given a choice I would get this new version.
Perfect for brewing and easy to clean. Only thing that would make it better would be a 2 pack.

This works exactly as described. I had the previous generation of this and thought It was great. But this one is even better. I love watching the tea leaves unfurl during my tea time experience. It’s easy to use and easy to clean.
I had the original IngenuiTEA and have to say that this one is much better. The strainer is higher quality. You can put it into the dishwasher. The plastic and thick. The design seems that it will last for a long time. Overall a great purchase and highly recommended.

I adore this tea maker! I start up a cup every morning, one for lunch, and one for dinner. It's made life so much easier for me! No more little leaves stuck on the side of my mug or surprising me when I take a sip. It's a lot of fun with company too- I've had one or two exclaim 'witchcraft!' when I come by to offer them a cup of tea. It's very easy to keep clean, runs through the dishwasher, and works flawlessly every time.

Beautifully designed and works well. It's great for taking to your room while the tea steeps so you don't need to go back into the kitchen a bunch. It's smaller than it appeared to me when I saw it online, but that isn't an issue. As far as the amount of liquid it fits, it's as advertised.
It does slightly leak from a drop or two occasionally, from the spout which tea comes out... just after you finish letting it dispense... but it isn't a big deal and the drip catcher is more than adequate for the amount it drips.
It's incredibly simple to remove, clean and replace the filter. It's also easy to remove the lid for adequate air drying after rinsing it out. It works fine on very large 4' (I typed a double-quote but this site changes it to read 4 feet) diameter glass cups. It doesn't fit centered on the cups but it easily sets on the edge without falling over. You can just set it there and let it drip on it's own into the cup. Works great.

I think this is a good improvement over the original the first generation. My wife and I drink tea at different times so we each have our own. The removable plastic filter is great and makes clean-up much easier.

This is a sweet upgrade from the old model. It is the perfect size for traveling or using at home. I am so happy I got it and I think you will be too. It's got a smaller feel to it, but it still holds a great amount of tea with plenty of room for the lovely leaves to unfurl.
