How many teaspoons of loose tea do you typically put in the infuser basket? I could do the math, but thought asking would be easier.

Hello Kim! We recommend about 0.65 - 1oz of tea, depending on type (lighter teas requiring less, heavier teas with additions like fruit pieces, require more).

Can you use the quart-size pouch of tea in this stainless steel infuser basket and will it make the iced tea properly overnight?

on

Hello Elizabeth! To not constrict the tea we would recommend just removing the basket for the night and place the pouch in the pitcher.

It says to use 4 Tbsp of tea for 40 oz of water. That's 12 tsp for only 5 servings... Is that correct? Seems like a huge waste of tea...and you would have to use more for the fruit tisanes?

Hello Dove! That's a suggested amount since many people do add ice to their iced tea- as the ice melts the flavor will be diluted. Brewing it stronger will help stand up to the extra water.

Is this pitcher only for teas meant for iced tea or can any loose tea be us?

Hello Judy! You can use our loose tea or iced tea pouches in this pitcher.

When I steep overnight, is this on the counter or in the refrigerator? Thanks.

Hello Genevra! We recommend storing the pitcher in the refrigerator to keep the product fresh even while steeping.

How do you take it apart for cleaning PLEASE? I haven't been able to figure it out. I think it should have come with instructions.

Hello Eleanor! You should be able to unscrew the lid to start disassembling for cleaning. Hope this helps! If not, please reach out to us at info@adagio.com, we'll be happy to assist further.

Can this pitcher also be used to steep tea with hot/boiling water?

on

Hello Sarah! You can use it that way, just remember to time how long you're steeping so your tea doesn't overbrew. We also do not recommend pouring out the hot water, please wait until it's at least room temperature for pouring.

Hello Eileen! We would recommend hand washing the plastic pieces, but the stainless steel and glass should be fine in the dishwasher.

Is this airtight?

on
1 × View reply Hide reply
Hello Brianna! While it is designed to be well sealed, it is not quite airtight enough to lay on its side like our new pitchers coming soon!

Can I remove the infuser after it steeps so the tea doesn't get too strong or bitter?

on

Hey Terry! Absolutely! We love to do that when hot brewing to control the strength of the tea.
on

Can this be used for cold brew coffee?

on
1 × View reply Hide reply
Hello Tim! It depends on how fine the coffee is ground, but you could!
on

Can you resteep iced tea?

on
1 × View reply Hide reply
Hello! In general, the leaf flavor is completely spent after cold brewing. You could try extending steeping time and increasing the water temperature to compensate for diminished flavor for multiple infusions. The 1st will be the most flavorful.
