Bought this beautiful teapot for my friend, she loves it. A great gift for any of tea lovers.
I just bought this pot and absolutely love it. Its the right size for the amount of tea I drink. There is no dripping and the warmer makes it even better.
This teapot is so cute. I finally broke down and ordered it after I spent my entire vacation supposed familly visiting, hanging out sipping their exotic teas and playing with their tea/coffee brewing apparatus. My aunt likes to collect teapots and she uses the Mikado more than most of her other teapots and I can see why. It's easy to clean, very nice to look at, keeps the tea warm since it can be paired up with a warmer that makes you want to brew a cup just to light it up.
I love this tea pot. It is beautiful, practical and very sturdy. I always get compliments on it.
It is a beautiful teapot, but the spout is VERY fragile and I've already gone through two. The first I broke the very first time I used it. The lid fell off when I was pouring and hit the tip. The second I bumped against the sink when I was filling it. I'm not one that usually breaks things so... Bottom line, it would be a good pot for special occasions, but find something more pratical for everyday.
I love this teapot. I purchased both this pot and the matching warmer. This pot is gorgeous and very functional. I have had mine for about 10 months now and it looks as good today as it did when it arrived.
I don't know how it is that everyone loves this teapot. I was drawn in by all the positive feedback... The biggest problem is the infuser. The small slits in the bottom do not seem to provide enough contact between the leaves and the water to produce a good brew. Doing a side by side comparison of the same teas, they always end up weaker in this pot than in others. This could also be because the infuser is so narrow and the pot so wide that it is pretty much impossible to have the leaves submerged. Once water is added the leaves inevitably expand to above the water level; the only way around this would be to use a much lower leaves to water ratio than is necessary. As if that weren't enough, the infuser is incredibly difficult to clean; tea particles get lodged in the slits easily. Finally, and I guess this is just the nature of glass, the pot provides so little insulation that tea is usually lukewarm by the time you get to the bottom of the pot. To its credit, it's a very pretty pot, and watching the tea brew is great fun; but I like tea that tastes good, so I'm going back to ceramic pots with mesh infusers.
This just arrived today, I used it for a dinner party tonight, and had to email a link to my friends because they fell in love with it. Shows the color of the herbal teas I use so nicely.
I love this teapot! I was worried when I first took it out of the package because it seems so fragile, and i'm a bit of a clutz. However, I have been using everyday without incident and now I'm obsessed with it!! Be not afraid of the delicate glass teapot, try it you will love it!!
I love this tea pot. I use it almost every day. The only thing is that the leaves get stuck in the slits in the infuser and are hard to clean out. But it's worth it because I just love using the thing so much.
I love the Jenaer teapots, because I like to watch the leaves. This one is great for sharing tea with a friend. Some very fine teas (such as Chai) will clog up the little slits in the infuser, though.
I like this teapot. It is beautiful and large enough for the amount of tea my husband and I drink. Love watching the color of the tea fill the pot. The only drawback is it is delicate. I have already broken one pot and one infuser. But, because I like it, I will continue to purchase it no matter how many times I break it. The pot lasted about a year before I cracked the spout off.
came right away and works great. I would love to have a removable rubber rim on it, though, so my fingers don't get so hot removing it from the pot.
I love this teapot!!!
It is stylish and functional. To some it might look 'fragil' since the glas is so thin. But I'm german and I have grown up making and drinking tea in this heat-proof glas...it is far stronger then what it looks like, I don't foresee any problems with it with normal care.
It is a beautiful sight as well, when the tealeaves are swirling inside.
I highly recommend this teapot!
The teapot works great and looks beautiful on the table when serving tea to company. I use it with the tea warmer and they are beautiful together.
The look of this teapot is very nice - great for the show teas as well as your everyday teas. Make sure to hold back the lid while pouring the last of your tea - it will fall off when holding the pot almost upright. I would recommend the 42oz (or larger) in case of company.
A reasonably priced and very distinctive teapot - I have gotten many compliments on this one. It's also very fun to watch the pot brew through the glass.
I love this teapot. Just like everyone else says it is very pretty lit up with the tea, and is quite the conversational piece. I love that it looks more fragile than it is. Quite deceptive.
The teapot makes great tea, but it is hard to clean. If you have the time, this teapot is for you.
I love this teapot. It's beautful and sturdy. I've been using it for a few months now and have had no problems.
This teapot is beautiful and functional, but sadly fragile. If you do not have the patience to care for something that is easily broken, you may want to find something else. Also, glass does not conduct heat as well as other materials, so you have to preheat the pot in hot running tap water before you use it. If you don't, it could cool down...then when you pour boiling water into it, it might shatter. So be cautious. Otherwise, an excellent teapot. And the filter is ingenius.
Completely adorable teapot. Also have the warmer that goes with it. My only worry is that perhaps I should have gotten a larger one!
Wonderful little tea pot. Looks very delicate, but I have dropped it several times without even a chip.
I love my mikado. It brews the perfect pot for a lazy Sunday morning. Beautiful and functional, I leave it out for display. Only caution: be careful of the slipping cover!
I LOVE this teapot! It was time to try glass teaware (getting tired of my 3 ceramic pots!) and this exceeded my expectations. I was afraid the 70 oz size would seem too big and bulky, but it's just perfect!
This is a gorgeous teapot. It looks elegant. It's got a nice light weight. It holds a lot of tea.
what an extraorinary piece of artwork! I fell in love with this teapot the second I took it out of the box. It is just as funcional as it is beautiful. I love the 70 oz. size, enough to share with a friend!
I love the look of this teapot. Warning though - do not overfill, I did and I had some water pour out the top and burn my hand. Despite my accident - this pot makes a great cup of tea, and I love the infuser. A beautiful overall design.
This teapot is fabulous. It's really perfect when you have five people over. So far it seems very durable and has a clean look to it. We actually leave it out on our counter!
This is a beautiful way to prepare tea for after a meal. Especially if you are using any of the display teas, this is a great way to go. I have stopped getting takeout coffee every morning and so I figure I have been saving $1.50 a day (even with adding back the cost of the teas I have purchased from Adagio). This teapot and warmer were my first reward - and I couldn't be happier.
Great teapot - brews about 3 cups of great tasting tea. If you just want one cup, the infuser fits perfectly inside a regular-sized mug.
I absolutely LOVE this teapot..I have become a tea lover and found that it is not only the tea that is important, but the way it is brewed and served. This is elegant and beautiful and practical. I use it everyday and enjoy tea time even more!!!
Very elegant design & big enough to serve several guests. One of the display teas is a must for this transparent pot.
We like the size of this teapot and the removable tea leaf vessel. We can make easily make two large mugs of tea with this pot, or up to four small cups. The removable steeper allows plenty of room for the leaves to bloom, and the ability to remove the leaves to avoid over-steeping.
This is now my everyday teapot. It doesn't drip, it's beautiful to look at, and it's easy to clean. And it holds just enough for 3 full cups of tea- Perfect in every way!
This is perfect for me. I've been looking for an inexpensive Glass tea pot for a while and finaly found one. One pot goes a long way with the luminous cup.
Love my new teapot! Easy to use and great to look at. The glass looked a little fragile at first, but turns out to be pretty strong. Would highly recommend.
This is a beatiful tea pot. It is just the right size for about three cups of tea. My wife and I us this pot every day.
Beatiful. The only thing better than enjoying a relaxing cup of tea, is serving it from a beautiful teapot. I just love this. This was my christmas present for myself
I love these teapots. That deserves to be said louder: I LOVE THESE TEAPOTS!. I have both the 42 and 70oz flavors of it and can not recommend either enough. They are aesthetically beautiful, dripless and lovely to use. I *highly* recommend keeping a plant pot label (those things stakes that have plant info printed on them) by the sink as they are the best thing to clean tea out of the infuser slits.
Incredilby convenient and user friendly. Pretty sturdy and looks great.
I bought this teapot about 2 weeks ago. It is very beautiful. The infuse is little bit hard to clean.
The teapot is beautiful, but doesnt strain the roobios thoroughly since its so fine. It is nice to be able to use the dishwasher/ micro and still have it be pleasing to the eye.
I have had this teapot and warmer for about 6 months and absolutely love it! Am buying one for my Mom and a second for our weekend getaway
Love everything about this teapot. Gave the first one I bought as a gift. Now I have my own. Can't wait for cold weather!
WONDERFUL!! Use it all the time!!
The mystery of the missing infuer has never been solved. After guests left I was unable to find the infuser and there was no sign of borken glass. The infuser is so low in price that I ordered a replacement rather to continue the search.
It is very pretty when in use, but I don't think it really keeps my tea all that warm. It is more of a show piece.
I broke my first one by pressing too hard on the slits. Someone suggested using a toothbrush to clean it and it works great.
