Update from several years later - I finally broke this tea pot, but after about 7 years of daily use. It broke where the spout connects to the pot. I tried another brand of pot/infuser set for about 6 months, which just reminded me everyday why I preferred this one - primarily the very fine, metal infuser, size of pot and it just looks pretty. So I finally bought another one and love it everyday. And I have a spare lid from my first teapot, which is what most people seem to have the most trouble with breaking.
Original review - This is beautiful, but seems like it might be kind of fragile. That worries me because I'm not very graceful, but it's lasted me a few weeks so far. The infuser has very fine holes, which is great for keeping the little stuff out of your tea.

Beautiful, but due to it's poor design and very thin glass, you'll probably break it by trying to clean it. I was cleaning inside the spout with a toothbrush when the end just snapped off in the sink. Lasted two months. Extremely frustrating.
Tea is the preferred drink in our house and we have always needed a larger pot for the amount of tea we drink. This will fit a niche that smallers pots just cant measure up too. The clear glass also help with a visual clue to when is has steeped enough to our desired tastes.
I love this glass pot-elegant simplicity. I have been using this teapot for several years (at least 2-3 times a week). I only handwash and am careful to secure the lid when pouring as suggested by the other reviewers. The lid did break (after a year of use) only because I had placed it on a kitchen towel to dry. I had forgotten that it was there and grabbed the towel causing the lid to drop to the counter. Fortunately, I had read the reviews and had purchased an extra lid at the time of my initial teapot order. Yes, it is fragile because of the glass but I would say that it is quite durable if one is careful.
I love this teapot. It looks nice, it pours nicely. It is the perfect size if you have multiple cups of tea (or are sharing). My husband did break the lid while washing though, it is very fragile. I am just glad that I can order another lid separately. The infuser works wonderfully.
Perfect size for tea for one when you expect to drink a few cups. The glass is a little thinner than I expected, but short of blatant clumsiness I don't see it being a problem. Very pretty, infuser works marvelously.
Lid cracked after a few months of use :(
I love this teapot. It looks so elegant when it pours. However, I dropped my lid and it broke. My only complaint is that there should be a way to keep the lid ON the teapot when it's pouring. I usually have to hold the lid down.
I loved the look of my teapot but realized how delicate and thin the glass was. The lid had no end over to secure to the pot and I hand washed delicately for two months. One morning I tried to poor the last half cup into my mug when the lid tumbled off and shattered the spout and the lid. Also you cannot clean the spout as it is too thin and delicate. This was a bad investment and over priced to boot!

I recently acquired a very dainty glass tea set, and so I wanted a nice glass tea pot to go with it. This tea pot is so dainty and pretty that it works perfectly, it looks rather fragile, but I'm sure if I'm careful with it it'll be just fine.
I bought this as a gift for my mother so she could start getting into tea and she loves it! She has sent me pictures of her tea infusing, and hasn't switched to just brewing in a kettle, even though she has several. It is attractive and she reports it is not as delicate as it looks.
I adore this teapot. I was slightly iffy as far as getting it goes, because I was a little afraid that a glass handle would be flimsy, but I needed a clear pot, as I have a lot of different tea blooms I enjoy using, and it ended up being so much sturdier than I thought. The pot pours fantastically, and I love how fine the infuser is- I don't get NE RLY as much rooibos tea 'dust' in the bottom of my pot now as I used to! I love this thing.
The pot is very nice looking, but the glass is thin and extremely fragile. The lid slips off the pot easily. Our lid broke on the day we got the pot when it fell about 4' to a formica kitchen counter. I will buy a new lid when they are off backorder.
Perfect size for making a big batch of tea for my thermos, or when I have friends over! It's also very pretty and goes well with the rest of my glassware.
Always been my favorite - replaced several over the last ten years or so because they shatter without notice, but it's the best pot for a guy like me who likes to be able to see what's going on.

Love this teapot. Yes, it is fragile but so are other glass items. I am glad that Adagio sold a lid separately (because I broek it!). The tea also tastes very clean when it is made with this teapot.
The lid doesn't stay on very well when pouring, so be sure to keep an eye out, but otherwise this is a beautiful, serviceable tea pot. And no, nothing broke when my lid made its bid for freedom!

Best used for a large group of people or serial cup drinkers. It is a bit fragile, the glass is quite thin and the lid does not sit firmly in place so I have I am expecting to handle this one with great care. Beautiful pour, and I love the overall look of this teapot.

This is a great looking product. However it is extremely fragile. About 2 weeks after I received this teapot I was emptying some cold tea out into my sink. I forgot to take the top off and the top fell and hit the spout. The spout broke off from this slight impact.
I've been using this teapot for years now, and I love it! I did have the original lid break when it fell on my wood floor, but the replacement has survived a couple falls intact. A beautiful pot that is wonderfully functional.

I just love this elegant 42 oz glass teapot. If you want to impress your friends this is a must to have in your teawear collection. The infuser chamber is easy to clean and give enough room for the loose leave tea to breath and brew. This glass tea pot is incredible and I will buy more for my friends and family for christmas time. I aslo want to add that is makes about 5 cups of tea, so it is perfect for company.

I was loving this, but the teapot lid was a poor fit and ended falling out and shattering fairly early on. It's usable without the lid, but I'm still a bit disappointed.
It is very fragile. Arrived first time broken. Only lasted one month unfortunately. Otherwise a very nice looking tea pot.
This pot pours beautifully but I wish the little ball on the lid wasn't so easy to break off. I've never broken the lid itself, but the ball always seems to find some way to escape. Thankfully you can buy just the replacement.
This thing makes making tea a cinch. It's really cool to be able to see your tea through the clear glass as well. One niggling issue I've found is that the lid can fall off quite easily when pouring so you must keep a finger on it.
The glass is a little thin, but it makes a beautiful presentation and the strainer is great for all teas.
I love this teapot. I can finally brew loose tea without making a gigantic mess. As an added bonus, this pot holds a lot of tea! I've considered buying other glass teapots for around the same price that were half this size. Clean-up is simple. Even though it seems fragile, I'm confident it will hold up just fine as long as you don't directly bump it into anything.
I bought this teapot because it reminded me of my classic Jena (German) teapot. The first itme I used it I carefully preheated, added tea and then boiling water. Returning the tea kettle to the stove, I bumped, quite lightly, the tip of the spout, and the entire spout broke off at the join with the pot, pouring scalding water and tea over the counter. I will keep looking for a better glass teapot - I think this has a serious design flaw and could easily cause a bad burn. I did not ask for a replacement becasue I did bump the tip of the spout, but it was truly a light bump. Be warned: the join of spout and pot is very fragile indeed.
This pot is large enough for everyone in my family (three of us) to get one generous cup of tea. The stainless steel strainer is fine and sturdy. The teapot is gorgeous and looks as it if is very delicate but it is made of the same glass as Adagio's clear cups which means it is sturdy. You think you'll break it every time you touch it but it survives even me - I break at least one glass or plate per week!

Fits 6 cups of tea just fine. Glass seems frail but so long as you are not a fool it should last.
Bought this for the tea party I am planning later this year for my birthday. Couldn't wait to use it, so it was quickly washed
My only complaint about this teapot is that the metal rim of the infuser gets very hot and is a little difficult to remove. Otherwise, very pretty, very functional, and makes a surprisingly large amount of tea.
I love my glass teapot! It is beautiful, and it makes a surprisingly large volume of tea for it's apparent size. I just wish I wasn't so afraid of breaking it. So far so good though. Had it for three years now.
I have 4 kids that love to drink tea with me and this is perfect for all of us to have tea together.
Take care, really fine glass. After 2 week of usage, the lid fell on the pouring tip and it shattered in my cup. Would not recommend for anything other than looking at it with things like blooming flower tea inside
Basically the same as the petit teapot, but bigger and slightly different shape. Very comfortable handle, easy to pour, dripless spout. The infuser basket is nice and big and perfect for brewing herbs and finer teas (i.e. rooibos).
Like the reviews I read before purchasing this pot, I have found it to pour great and be less fragile than one might expect. That said, it is still made of glass and our relatives have gone through at least five of them (but keep ordering more since it pours so well). In full disclosure, I broke one of theirs. I like this pot so much I ordered them for several family and friends for Christmas presents one year.
Perfect size for one or two cups, a very modern looking pot. The tea strainer that comes with it is not fine enough for my taste.
I use my teapot every day and have never been disappointed in it. A word of caution, however, in that the teapot is more fragile than most folks are used to these days. I heartily recommend getting the extended warranty on it--A friend broke my teapot, but it was replaced within a day or two.
Beautiful tea pot. The steel infuser keeps the tea leaves out of the tea, the spout pours cleanly, and it's lovely being able to see the rich color of the tea as it steeps.
