They worked to fix my VelociTea the first time, but now my VelociTea is just a teapot that at least still gets water to the right temp.
If you use tap water for tea, limescale deposits will build up over time on the surface of your electric kettle or tea maker. To remove these and keep your appliances running smoothly, scale must be removed using these descaling tablets. Simply dissolve a tablet in about 8 ounces of water, and run the appliance using its 'black' tea setting. For optimal performance, we recommend descaling your kettle or tea maker once a month. Expiration date is 2022/08/31, but will still work well to clean your machine.

They worked to fix my VelociTea the first time, but now my VelociTea is just a teapot that at least still gets water to the right temp.
These work great with my VelociTEA maker. It makes clean-up super, super easy.
They do what they say they will. Worked best, for me, with boiling water in the tea kettle
These didn't work for my kettle. Not an Adagio kettle, but I thought it would work just the same.
Cleaned out my velocitea way better than when I tried using vinegar. I ran it using the white tea setting as when I tried using the black setting like the instructions said and it started to boil over.
I might have used these incorrectly, but whew my whole pot boiled over and made a huge mess when I tried it. The instructions say to only fill the pot half full, and I'd be really careful of staying at that point or lower to avoid the mess I had to clean up.
So nice I had to buy two boxes, I use my teapot so often and all we use is tap water... I never thought that I'd had to descale my teapot like our Keurig.
Exactly what I needed to descale my electric kettle.
While the kettle was on and monitored, I witnessed the dissolved scaling tablet lifting calcium scales off of the bottom of the kettle! Make sure you clean the kettle thoroughly after use, otherwise it will crystalize and that itself is difficult to remove.
I have a random kettle and not the one that is on the instructions, and initially I tried to let it sit dissolved in water overnight but that didn't do anything. I had to turn the kettle on and the hot water bubbling plus solution aided in removing the scales.
A word of advice: disregard box instructions and make sure to follow Adagio's instead since these tablets are not made by Adagio specifically for their kettles. That said, they work fantastically when used as instructed, and my kettle sparkles like new after a descaling.
It worked ok had to do it twice but it got clean. Eventually
These work great! I just used one after about a month of owning my VelociTEA. Make sure you are using them specific to your kettle (the Adagio customer service representatives are super helpful if needed) but mine sparkles like new! :-)
It is amazing how this makes my favorite tea pot even better. It really is needed. If you don't use it regularly the pot makes so much noise. It is a little annoying how long the tabs take to dissolve and also to rinse it out completely but worth it.
They seem to work OK, but the directions are for a device I’ve never heard of, so I’m not sure I’m using them right.
These are an easy way to clean the tea kettle. I am glad I got them
Easy to use and keep kettle clean. Works great like this product.
I ordered these descaling tablets not only for my new tea maker, but also for my espresso machine. The price is really good compared to what I've found on other sites. I used them in my espresso machine and all seems to be well!
Really does a good job, though I do have to rewash a few things to get to taste out.
These are by far the best descaling tablets available and their inexpensive for what you get. I used these for my Keurig. They work great and these are sooo much cheaper than buying the name brand descaling liquid from Keurig or Amazon. These are awesome!!! They also work great for removing the gunk in a dishwasher. Just run it without the dishes.
I used these on my adagio tea maker. Had to use more than one tablet to clean it. While it works fine, a combination of baking soda and water do the same thing
Cleans well enough but can get a little too foamy with too much water.
I'm a little upset with the descaling tablets.
I have an Amazon Basics kettle. The tablets themselves WORKED but caused the kettle to overflow and the plastic cracked, completely ruining the kettle.
I gave it 3-stars since they did descale the tablets. 😅
I don't see this as an Adagio failure at all. But it would be nice to have an updated description.
I have a VonShef electric kettle and this product worked beautifully. Just threw it in with 8 oz of water and boiled it a 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The bottom of my kettle is spotless. @adagioteas
Honestly, I wasn't sure how these would be since they weren't specifically for my VelociTea but they worked great. It is sooo much cleaner. I did do several rinse cycles after just to make sure it was all cleaned out.
These are okay but honestly, white vinegar works the best.
Works fabulous. Do not add more than a cup of water to kettle or it will overflow. Vinegar may work equally as well, but these tablets certainly are convenient.
Used this in my Ninja tea maker. I did have to flush it through a few times to get all of the residue behind, but it did seem to clean it up nice. Never used something like this before, but I m sure it helped the internal plumbing of the tea maker based on the white stuff that came out. Nice product! @adagioteas
Worked great for me, I left the tablet in the kettle all night and rinsed it out in the morning a few times to get the limescale and grit out.
I use my kettle all the time, so I regularly clean it with vinegar. The tablets do an even better job than the vinegar. They work perfectly with my velociTEA maker.
These tablets are great they do as advertised recommend to descale your tea kettles
Does a great job and much more affordable than the one I get on Amazon.
Worked like a charm even in my non-branded kettle. Don't accidentally turn your kettle to 'boil', though, unless you really like foam.
works like a charm, and so much more convenient for cleaning teapots than methods such as vinegar/lemon.
Did the job, but I didn't trust the reviews that say it overflows the teapot. Huge mess in my kitchen. Will stick to using white vinegar to descale
Waste of money. These don't work, not does my VelociTea Maker. It just stopped working and no amount of tablets helped. So I regret purchasing these and the teamaker, so my best advice, pass on both.
I have a Cuisinart electric kettle. I tried letting the tablet sit over night (without heating it) , as suggested in some comments . I also heated as in the directions. Neither method removed the build up on the bottom of my kettle.
I tried these descaling tablets on my Utilitea kettle and it did not do what it was intended to do. The limescale in the bottom of my kettle was still there.
This worked pretty well to de-scale my electric kettle, but not as great as I was hoping.
I tried using this in a UtiliTEA kettle. I filled it to the minimum line, dropped the tablet in, waited for it to dissolve completely, and then set the kettle to boil. It then promptly boiled over and made a huge mess. After things cooled down and were cleaned up, I looked inside and nothing was cleaned at all. Okay. Plan B!
So Plan B was to repeat the process with a new tablet and, this time, watch it like a hawk and stop it before it boiled over. I did that a couple of times. It foamed and frothed and tried to boil over, but I kept it from doing so. Long story short, I looked inside, and the mineral deposits were untouched.
I decided after that to just fill it up to the mineral line and let it soak. I doubt it will do anything, but we'll see.
Anyway, my conclusion: Save time, money, and hassle, and cleanup. Buy a much cheaper jug of vinegar and pour it in the kettle. It actually works.
The tablets made my kettle (not a teforia) boil over, but it is very clean.
Made my electric kettle look like new! Easiest was to be sure it is descaled.
I did not know what to expect, but this worked out great. They are easy to use and really cleaned my electric kettle of limescale. It looks brand new inside. Super pleased. Will definitely purchase again.
These cleaned my pot so well - it looks like new again!
Just ran one through my kettle and it looks new again. I do the regular vinegar soaks, but this really helped clean it up!
Used in my velocitea. Worked extremely well and made it look brand new again!
This cleaned my pot SO WELL. Even though my pot looked clean, it wasn’t - and I was amazed (understatement) at the particles it cleaned from the inner workings. I rinsed water through five more times until it looked completely clear. Very happy with this purchase; worth every penny.
this is exactly what I needed! Super easy to use and left my pot sparkling clean
I have been meaning to order cleaning tablets for my tea kettle but had never prioritized them. I am so pleased with how quickly they've cleaned the calcium deposits, and it's significantly easier to use these than the soap & vinegar rinses I had been using previously. 100% recommend!
