If you use tap water for tea, limescale deposits will build up over time on the surface of your electric kettle or tea maker. To remove these and keep your appliances running smoothly, scale must be removed using these descaling tablets. Simply dissolve a tablet in about 8 ounces of water, and run the appliance using its 'black' tea setting. For optimal performance, we recommend descaling your kettle or tea maker once a month. Expiration date is 2022/08/31, but will still work well to clean your machine.

These work very nicely. An item I didn't realize I needed! Now clean my electric water regularly and can taste the difference
I used this on my electric Cuisinart kettle. I had already removed some buildup with vinegar, but I wasn't able to get all of it. These helped to clear up the remaining buildup.
UPDATE: I used these a second time without trying to clean any buildup with vinegar beforehand. It worked great! I put a tablet in with water and ran on the boil setting. I drained all the water out and let it sit for a few minutes, all the buildup became hard and crumbled into giant pieces that I could easily wipe out with a paper towel.

These are a simple solution to build up in my electric kettle. Much cheaper than department stores also
These work perfectly! I have a Cosori Gooseneck Kettle (in case anyone has the same model) and these tablets completely removed the buildup that was forming on the bottom.

Unfortunately, these did absolutely nothing to remove any scaling from my velociTEA. Would not recommend.
I mean, they do what they are supposed to do. I recommend reading the comments and figuring out how to use it for the Adagio VelociTEA.

I used these for the first time in my Velocitea and it worked okay. I’m sure the innards are nice and clear but I didn’t see much improvement in the stuff I’m seeing in the bottom of my kettle which is disappointing. After the tablet dissolved I ran the kettle on the black tea setting, rinsed it thoroughly, added fresh water, ran it again on the black tea setting, rinsed thoroughly again, ran it a 3rd time on the black tea setting, rinsed thoroughly then brewed a test cup which came out fine. I may try dissolving the tablet and letting it sit overnight to get the stuff off the bottom of the kettle unless Adagio has a better idea
A must have for our tea maker. You can't beat the price and ease of use.
These are mighty handy in this area which has horrible mineral build up from the local water. One tablet does the trick!
These descaling tablets worked great to descale my stainless steel stovetop tea kettle! I filled the kettle to the max fill line, added one tablet, put the kettle on the stove, and set the stove burner to low. I let this go for about 30 minutes. I then used a coconut husk scrubber to lightly scrub all of the interiors (wearing a thick kitchen glove to protect my hands against the heat and descaler). All the scale and water stains disappeared!
I used these following Adagio's instructions (just filled the VelociTea maker about halfway with water then left the tablet to dissolve overnight before washing it out) and it worked like magic. The tea maker looks like new!
Works really well. Had to do a double clean, as the kettle had not been cleaned in a couple of years. Cleaned the basket very well. Just make sure you rinse well.
These work relatively well for mild to moderate buildup. However, on something that has been a bit neglected, they don't work all that well. My VelociTEA admittedly had gone too long between descaling (my bad), and even though I ran two tablets through it, they made little impact. However, my less-neglected kettles cleared out just fine, though I noticed the tablets left behind a white residue on plastic parts that was really difficult to remove.
Ultimately, the drawback to these is that they are for a totally different tea company's products. While Adagio does include the proper directions for their tea makers, ultimately, I don't love using a totally different product off-label. I think Adagio should develop their own descaling tablets designed for their actual products.
These help to remove the scale at the bottom of your teakettle if you accidently let hard water dry there. Don't expect these will unplug the percolator part of the VelociTEA if that has stopped working though. That is a problem with the VelociTEA itself. The other problem is that the directions are only given for a different device. I would follow the directions on the Adagio website. Also, be sure to rinse several times after use.
Good for maintenance, but if your Tea Maker is already not working, it won't fix it. Wish I'd bought these when I first purchased the VelociTEA
As noted by many folks, the instructions provided in the box don't actually work for the tablets. I did follow Adagio's instructions and it did improve the buildup on my old, heavy use kettle, but not quite as much as I was hoping. I'm thinking that they will be much more effective with smaller descaling efforts and more routine maintenance descaling! So far, they seem to be helping me keep my nicer kettles cleaner!
These tablets are a godsend for anyone with hard water. I use them periodically when I start to see some mineral build up, and it clears everything right out.
Very handy. Drop in and process. Having hard water at home makes these tabs so easy to use. They do a great job.
These work as described for my electric kettle using the instructions on this site rather than the box instructions.
These are saving my life. They make cleaning out my electric kettle so much easier. It's super convenient to be able to get them from here, I have a hard time getting them locally otherwise!
***I have a velocitea pot that stops pumping about 3 weeks after each descaling. This time I tried something different and I hope Adagio will look into this further. I used Impresa tea maker cleaner, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08PN5JKTB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , it takes the tea stain and residue out. I think it might be a build up of tea residue that is gumming up the works. I put the cleaning tablet in the tea maker and ran it through every cycle. The water turned dark from the tea residue. Then ran several cycles of clean water to rinse. My Velocitea kettle has been working perfectly for a month now. I was on the verge of throwing out my tea maker due to the struggles of keeping it pumping, but very glad I didn't since I love my Velocitea kettle when it is working well.***
Not great at cleaning. My teapot doesn’t look any different and isn’t sparkly clean as it does with the branded Breville cleaner
These work extremely well. I used them on my Adagio Tea Maker after I left leaves in it over a break from work and they grew some things. I ran it through like it said and did a couple runs of boiling water and it was good as new!
It's great to have these on hand to descale a variety of vessels I use to make tea and coffee, they work great
We have tried different products for descaling and like this. It does not leave a residue or oder after using it, plus it works well in the tea pot.
Don't follow the directions on the package - read the instructions on Adagio's site. Worked great on my VelociTea. Let it dissolve, ran it through as instructed and rinsed the pot several times. Working great!
I fixed my VelociTea with these. I'd had it for two years and had not done a good job of keeping it descaled, and it stopped working. I could hear the pump still whirring, but it wasn't moving the water through the tea basket. I tried vinegar, and that helped some. (And BTW letting it sit with baking soda dissolved in the water does a great job of cleaning old stains--just don't let it go through a cycle.) But what REALLY worked, eventually, was using a whole box of Descaling Tablets, two to three at a time, and following the directions under the FAQ. I just kept trying, refusing to give up since I could still hear the pump working. And eventually it started working again!

They work a bit, but I still have to scrub a lot after using them. I have only tried for two months so far, but what has really helped the build up of calcium not continue is using filtered water.

I wish it was clearer that this is for a specific water heater. I did use these on my water heater but couldn't follow the instructions. Using a few tablets did help with scaling but not fully.
I was amazed at how great these work for descaling my Veloci-tea! I will definitely be purchasing these again.
These descaling tablets are the best way to get my Velocitea kettle clean. Any grime on the kettle comes straight off. I put in the minimum water, let the tablet dissolve, and when it has, I run it on the black tea setting.
I simply wish that the instructions on the box was what was needed for use with velociTEA but it seems this was not made by Adagio. Might be a good idea to include an insert with these with correct instruction
These descaling tablets are really great for cleaning our tea maker from adagio. I use them about once every 3 weeks and they make it look shiny and new again.
So far we have only used it once and it is not without some scale left it is much better.
A miracle! No amount of scrubbing or washing has been able to descale my kettle. One try and my device was shiny and new. And yes, the tea tastes better.
Definitely something good to have on standby. Fortunately the quality of our water is such that I don't often have to use these, but when I do they work nicely.

They seem to do the job. Easy to use although the directions are obtuse as they don't relate to the equipment that I use. A few rinses of plain water and it all works out. It certainly doesn't really clean and the basket in particular needs extra effort to clean.
Got about half the scaling of my electric kettle cleaned off. But as others have said, it's not quite ideal for outside products.
Make sure you follow the directions exactly. Mine boiled over because I added too much water.
I bought these to use on my kettle. I followed the instructions, and it overflowed my kettle. Tried again with half the water, and it still overflowed. Plus it did absolutely nothing to help the buildup. Eventually found another descaler elsewhere that helped. Don't buy this.
