In Norse mythology, the eight-legged horse is Odin's steed, the child of Loki and Svadilfari, and is described as the best of all horses. But here he is just enjoying Idunn's apple orchard (apples that grant eternal youthfulness). Reminiscent of a fiery horse with some tasty fruits in mind.
