French bread, roses, and the General's hothouses with their tropical fruits--these things are inextricable from Catherine Morland's memory of Northanger Abbey, along with the mysteries she expected to uncover there. I've tried to recreate those recollections in the form of assam melody blended with sweetly smokey gunpowder and floral white peony. Accenting the tea are rose petals, pineapple, and cocoa nibs, echoes both of things exotic and of things quintessentially English--of imagination and reality.
