New to Angel Grove, Tommy met the original five at a martial arts competition, where he immediately caught Jason and Kimberly's attention. On his way home, though, he was attacked by putties, and magically brainwashed into becoming Rita's Evil Green Ranger, commanding the Dragonzord, and causing the Power Rangers a lot of trouble.
Although he overcame Rita's programming as the Evil Green Ranger and became a loyal friend to the original five, Tommy was always on the cusp of falling back under her control. This sweet-and-spicy tea is meant to highlight his dual nature. Coconut, lemongrass, and vanilla are for his sweet, romantic side, while the spices and red peppercorns are for the hint of shadow still in his nature.
