I find rooibos on its own to be a bit too much like medicine, and this tea is no exception. The vanilla seems to add to the odd flavor, making for a rich-smelling tea with an almost vanilla-extract aroma. Not my favorite, but glad to have tried it and might use it in blends later.
Pretty good tea for relaxing in the evening, best with a little milk.
I love vanilla flavors, and this is a wonderful one - light, sweet, with a fantastic aroma and lovely flavor. Rooibos usually isn't my favorite kind of tea, but this is terrific, both by itself and mixed with others. The people who compare the aroma with vanilla and sweet pipe tobacco are pretty much correct - I think the key to whether or not you'll enjoy this is whether you find that pipe aroma appealing. (It's not tobacco smoke - that would be awful - but a sweet, pleasant scent.) Wavered between good and great, but given that this tea made me enjoy rooibos - I'll give it a 'great.' Would definitely buy again (especially considering the decaf aspect - great for wanting tea at night.)
The smell actually reminds me a bit of flavored tobacco but not necessarily in a bad way. I'm not particularly crazy about this one, but it's definitely not undrinkable. I think I would like it more if I were a bigger fan of rooibos.
I am a newbie tea drinker and I ordered this as a sample. I just made a pot and drank it hot with no sweetener/no milk (but it would probably be yummy with both!) I will definitely buy a larger package next time. I can see this as my go-to after dinner tea. It's like a dessert without the guilt!
When I first opened the bag container, the smell first hit me and I honestly did not enjoy it. The tea is ok. I was told the tea was really good but I think my expectations were shot down. It tastes fine. I brewed it and mixed it several ways but I guess it's suitable for me. It does leave an odd after taste that reminds of the smell.
Strong vanilla scent and flavor, no sugar needed to be added. Does well with a couple of cookies for an after dinner snack.
This tea is the perfect rooibos tea for me. I love it iced! I keep a pitcher of it in the fridge for when I want some iced tea. Very subtle blend of vanilla!
I received this tea for free in pouch form and I really wasn't that thrilled. It smelled very strongly of vanilla, but after brewing it barely tasted like anything to me.
Not as good as the rooibos vanilla chai, but I think this one will blend nicely with other flavors. :D
When I managed to win a free sample of this tea iced, I was excited. The reviews were good and I was hesitant to try an iced rooibos. For someone who's never had this type of tea, iced or hot- it was amazing and if you feel you want to try an iced Rooibos, this is a great one to try.
I'm drinking my first cup as we speak. I ordered the teabags, simply because I hadn't tried Adagio's tea bags and wanted to see what they were like. Not much fragrance from the bag itself, but when steeping, the tea really gives off that great earthy rooibos scent. Like sticking your face in wet leaves (which is something I really love about rooibos teas, actually). The flavor itself is really mild. I don't know if I used too much water or didn't let it steep long enough, but it really is very very light. I'll try a better ratio next time. But so far I think I like it.

At times, the vanilla flavor can be almost overwhelming, so I typically blend this with plain rooibos at home. Still a very nice infusion.
I've had rooibos tea before in prepackaged teabags, but I thought this was much better. It has a great subtle spiciness, and I love the vanilla flavor.

One of my favorites from Adagio so far. Smooth vanilla flavor with little to no astringency. Almost tastes like a light, vanilla-flavored coffee. Being great tasting AND caffeine free, I plan on drinking a cup of this at the computer before laying down and going to sleep.

This tea is actually the reason I sought out this site. I tried it at The Tea Room in Mackinaw, Illinois, which serves many of your teas, and I was obsessed. It tasted amazing, so I had to come order some for myself. It has a very pleasing and not at all overpowering vanilla flavor, and I look forward to making it iced for me again, and trying it hot.
This one is good, but it didn't bring the vanilla flavor out as much as I had liked. I bought this tea to be a mixer with other teas. It didn't work out quite like I had wanted, but its still good.

Lovely mellow flavored tea. The vanilla flavor isn't particularly strong, but I didn't have an issue with this. It makes a nice iced tea.
I was looking for a decaf herbal with some depth and came across this Rooibos Vanilla. I'm a huge vanilla fan and this tea doesn't disappoint. I found however, that I cut it with plain Rooibos from Adagio,supplied by the same farmer (about 1/3 vanilla to 2/3rds plain) to soften it a bit. Even at that I only use a pinch per cup. (Yes. To my taste, It's that strong.) So do yourself a favor and give it a try and adjust to your personal taste. It's an interesting and very welcome addition to the tea cabinet!

Very strong smell, but I wish the taste was the same. I had to put in an extra two tablespoons of sugar than what I normally use to make the smell and taste the same. There could have been a little more vanilla taste to it, but overall a very nice sweet tea.

The vanilla flavor in this deep, rich red rooibos tea is so fantastic. It's not artificial like some other bagged tea and is very well rounded. I have used this as a base quite a few times for making my own creations. :)

I was not at all impressed with the Rooibos Iced Tea Pouches. I've yet to try it hot, but the flavor was very weak and slightly artificial tasting. There's also a bit of a fruity aftertaste that I didn't enjoy. Though though I liked many other kinds of rooibos teas, this one isn't for me.
This is definitely one of my new favorites. As soon as I opened the pouch it smelled absolutely amazing. The tea tastes exactly as it smells. It reminds me of baked goods but has fabulous floral notes and a pleasantly lingering flavor that I can't really describe. I think I've fallen in love.
I absolutely adore this tea! The vanilla really comes through and there is no bitter aftertaste. Plus, it's without caffeine, so I can drink a few cups in a day!
I think this might be my new favorite tea. From the bag, it smells very sharp, with the spices at the forefront. I didn't smell much in the way of the vanilla, but I didn't expect to with how strong the tea smelled. It reminded me very much of potpourri, with the cloves, and over all it was delightfully mouthwatering. Once brewed, the tea mellowed a little, keeping it's spice smell very well, though a very slight hint of sweetness did blossom a little. Taste-wise, it's super yummy. Its got a clean taste to it, the spices remaining on the tongue for quite a while after a swallow. Great both warm and chilled, this is a delicious tea that is very refreshing.
So delicious. I had gotten away from rooibos and gone black with mint. I was tired of stale big-box-store tea that's probably been on the shelf for a thousand years. But this tea...delightfully red, a hint of vanilla more from the smell than flavor (or that's how I feel). I wish I'd have gotten a bigger bag.
One of my favorites. Creamy, smooth, slightly sweet all on its own and naturally decaf...I've been battling a cold for about a week and have been basically living off of this stuff.
I ordered this to try it iced, and it really, really was just not for me. I'm very new to rooibos, so I might just not be a fan. The vanilla smell was very off, and extremely overwhelming both out of the package and after steeping. It was cloying and completely off-putting. I took the pitcher to a get together with another tea enthusiast friend, and neither of us could get through a whole glass. Maybe I got a bad sample?
This is a decent rooibos. The vanilla is a nice mellow not, not overwhelming. It's a decent tea, I just didn't love it. Will more than likely not be ordering again.

Absolutely delicious! The rooibos and the vanilla bean are in perfect balance here. The woodiness of the rooibos doesn't overwhelm the vanilla, and the vanilla's sweetness doesn't cancel out the rooibos. This is fantastic tea for cold or warm days, and very comforting and refreshing. I'm off to blend it with some rooibos cocomint to see what happens. Mhh!
I don't really like rooibos, but this tea is great blended with other stuff. It's very sweet.
this was overwhelming at first. i'm not sure i'd be able to drink it alone, however when i mix it with peppermint it is absolutely delicious!
