A bit medicinal tasting, Rooibos is the one of the few I prefer flavored.
Rooibos, sometimes known as "Red Tea" (although not from the actual tea bush), is an herb that grows only in South Africa. Our rooibos is slightly fruity and smooth with a mild, herbal texture. Very forgiving - won't over-steep.

A bit medicinal tasting, Rooibos is the one of the few I prefer flavored.
Never had rooibos before trying this and it's just not my cup of tea. My husband liked it though.
I would have made this great, but after trying the rooibos cinnamon apple a new tea love has taken it's place.
This is my 'constantly at my side' tea, due to the lack of caffeine, and its fantastic price. It's not my favorite, but a good standby. Sometimes I get too much smoke out of it, but it takes a dash of sweetener well.
I think I just got a bad first impression...opened up the tin and thought of cough syrup at the first whiff.
great rooibos. i find however that it needs to steep with a bigger amount of tea than i am used to with other pure version of the redbush i' ve gotten elsewhere.
I tend to like the varieties of tea that are not artificially flavored, and the plain ol' rooibos was no exception. Strong flavor & chock full of antioxidants.
Pretty ordinary but it's a nice change from black tea.
I don't think it tastes like 'cough medicine' (or much like regular tea, for that mater, and who says it's supposed to?) but I'll swear by this stuff for fighting off colds and such. Best sweetened (preferably honey) with lemon or other citirus.
This tea smells like tobacco and looks like it also. I really thought I wouldn't like it but it is really good. Rooibos have a beautiful red color and full flavor. I dont have to sweeten this one at all. I highly recommend everyone try this at least one time, you will be surprised.
When I don't want caffeine but want a strong tasty hot wet beverage, I turn to rooibos.
This is a solid rooibos tea. I enjoyed the jasmine rooibos more. My only issue with the rooibos is that it's very difficult to infuse cleanly, and the leaves tend to get everywhere.
rooibos is my favorite herbal tea because it tastes so great and has no caffeine for night times. nice flavor. i recommend!!!
I was skeptical at first, but I've found this herbal tea to be rather enjoyable, especially late at night.
A very interesting tisane. I've had several cups since I bought it and I'm still not really sure if I like it or not. Depends on your own taste I suppose.
Wow! I was really surprised I liked this, but I really enjoyed it. It does smell like tobacco with a hint of cough syrup, but I'm glad I tasted it anyway. slightly sweet, not astringent or bitter.
My husband loves this tea. I enjoyed it, but like black or green teas better. The rooibos smells like tobacco and has mild flavor--love the deep, rich red color though.
A great herbal tea. And with the added bonus that we can imagine ourselves in south Africa with Mma Ramotswe drinking 'bush' tea. I really like its nutty flavor and the absence of caffeine menas I can drink it at night too.
The beautiful red and subtle smoky taste is perfect with dessert. I always make myself plenty throughout the evening. What a great combination of taste and being free from caffine! It is one of my favorite tea.
I didn't like it personally, but my other half polished it off very quickly. I couldn't stand the strong smell. The taste wasn't unpleasant, but that smell... My Sis loves rooibos.
This tea has a very unique and tasty flavor but it does taste a bit like watered-down cold syrup. It comes out very strong, and would probably be better mixed with some other flavors.
Maybe I do not understand the rooibos teas but I could not drink this one. I tried several times hoping that my mood was a problem. It did not work. It feels to me like trying to make a tea from wood dust.
Straight rooibos is actually really good. Reminds me of pu-ehr tea. I like to add some Rooibos Vanilla to make it more interesting.
I really like this one alot for the taste and the fact it's good for you and has no caffeine.
this tea is a great substitute for caffeinated black tea. great cold and slightly sweetened with sugar.
We tried this sample because we weren't familiar with Rooibos tea. We were all surprised how much we like this tea - not too strong, just right.
A very rich, hearty brand of roobios. Can't go wrong with it.
Takes some time to get used to. Not bad though! Pick up a sample for yourself and try it out!
I use plain rooibos as the basis for fruit or herbal iced teas. This one has a nice flavor and works well in my iced tea maker.
I didnt like rooibos very much, it didnt have much flavour to it and had a bad aroma.
Doesn't this all make us wish there was a new Alexander Smith-McCall Botswana book to read as we travel with Mma Precious Ramotswe and her Red Bush Tea to wisdom?
Number one on my hit parade, rooibos has a smooth flavor that you'll drink all night without getting tired of it.
First time trying red tea and I don't know what to say. Best to try a sample and see for yourself. The smell and and unsweetend flavor reminds me of tobacco. More and more sugar makes it taste better, but it's alot.
Rooibos is a great alternative to ordinary tea if you would rather avoid the caffeine. Not quite as flavorable as actual tea, but still very good.
this tea has to be one of the worst teas i have tied. i could not give this away fast enough. It has a taste of tree bark. and not even the good tree bark either.
6 out of 10. A dark red tea. It had a very intersting taste, kinda rooty, hard to explain. Slightly unpleasant smell. I can see where this would be a good base to add other flavors to. Will now try some of the other Rooibos varieties. Definitly worth a look at, but get the sampler since this is probably a like it or hate it.
On previous occasions I was turned off by the flavored Rooibos from Adagio, but a friend told me to try it out without any flavors, and he was right! Brews a refreshing iced tea for those warm sumemr months, but also comes great hot with it's smokey flavor but sweet aftertaste. Highly recommended.
This is an excellent Rooibos, the first tea I have ordered larger than a sample size. I feel happy just looking at the container and enjoy it immensely. I probably drink 4 to 5 cups a day at work.
I love this rooibos! Brewed too long, its taste can be overpowering, but done right it is fruity and refreshing. I'm going to try it as iced tea too.
Great late in the evening when you want refreshment but do not want extra caffeine. Tasty.
when i opened the tin, i smelled the distinct scent of chewing tobbaco. so imagine my surprise when upon my first sip, i felt like i'd been chewing tobacco. it's worth trying but i really disliked the flavor and the clean up.
The rooibos sample I ordered was initially a bit more 'earthy' than the flavored rooibos teas. After a couple of weeks it lost it's unpleasant aroma and became quite enjoyable.
i've tried many rooibos' before that were just plain disappointing. this, on the other hand, is really good. very rich tisane.
This tea has become a favorite of mine and I have it on a daily basis. This is one that I will continue to order.
i liked this tea. it was very different from the black teas i usually drink (oolong and ceylon). it has a very mild flavor and an aftertaste of roasted artichokes. it was good for an evening tea. but it did leave a stubborn red residue in my ingenuitea... harumph.
good red tea. i like the flavor. hard to place it though. love it, but like the flavored reds better. but when i need the untainted flavor of rooibos, ill fall back on this one.
Nice flavor, but I find it takes well to adding flavors.
In an effort to go caffiene free for a few weeks, I thought I'd use rooibos. I usually have a cup before bedtime. I searched and found GREAT selections at Adagio. What a brilliant deep color and flavor. I'm working my way through all the flavors, and they are really high quality.
I am also impresses with the really nice 4 oz. tins with clasping lids. Thanks Adagio!

I really enjoyed this tea. It's got a very different flavor to anything else I've tried. I've started drinking it at night since it's caffeine free!
A coffee drinker's tea! This tea's earthiness is satisfying for those who are looking for a bolder flavor in their cup.It has become a staple in our cupboard.
