Rooibos Customer Reviews

Rooibos, sometimes known as "Red Tea" (although not from the actual tea bush), is an herb that grows only in South Africa. Our rooibos is slightly fruity and smooth with a mild, herbal texture. Very forgiving - won't over-steep.

Thisrooibos is a really mellow, earthy flavor - in a good way. If it's combined with orange blossom honey it has an almost marshmallow like flavor to it that's surprising and really good!

★★★★★

The best rooibos I've ever had. Great with any meal or desert, iced or hot. Mild or strong, however you like it this tea is my go-to favorite. And the price per pound makes this tea an affordable beverage that I can drink all day long. Plus it's good for you! How often can you say that about something that is so delish?

★★★★★

Not much to say. I just love rooibos tea. Definitely my favorite caffeine-free tea.

★★★☆☆

This tea brewed nice and strong, but I think I just don't care for rooibos in general, at least not plain. To me, it has an off taste/aftertaste/scent, similar to the smell of a fresh vinyl shower curtain or a vinyl Strawberry Shortcake doll from the '80s. It's very fruity. adding sugar enhanced the fruit/vinyl taste, and adding milk just enhanced the Strawberry Shortcake doll comparison. If it wasn't for the vinyl notes, I'd like this a lot more. I may try a flavored blend to see if it detracts from the vinyl sensation.

Sweet tasting, really hard to mess up which is always a plus!

★★★★☆

I really do like rooibos tea. It has good flavor and I love that it does not have any caffeine, which allows me to drink it in the evening before bed. I would recommend you at least try this once!

A delicious naturally decaffeinated tea that we first discovered in South Africa

★★★★★

This rooibos is perfect for bedtime tea or iced in the summer

★★★★★

Tastes slightly oaky, rich flavor. Easy to drink all day and not get bored with

★★★★☆

It's alright, but I think I prefer the various flavored rooibos.

★★★★☆

A good generic rooibos with a nice aroma and flavor. Great by itself or as an ingredient for blends.

★★★☆☆

This is the first I've tried this. It has good flavor, but I'm just not excited about it.

★★★★★

I'm going to be using it really fast, so 16 oz was a good choice.

When I first tried it the flavor was a bit strong and unique but then after drinking it more I grew to really appreciate it. Now I drink it every night

I got this tea for my boyfriend, as he does not consume caffeine. I have had a couple glasses of it. It is okay, but I just didn't care much for the flavor. That's my own personal opinion... My boyfriend does like it though!

★★★★★

I couldn't wait to try this tea. As others have mentioned, it smells like tobacco. It has a good taste. I tried different brew times and I found 3 mins to be ideal for me. If you are new to rooibos, please give it a try.

I've never had a rooibos tea that wasn't in a blend before. Boy what a treat!

★★★★★

Great tea! I love drinking the plain rooibos or blending it with some steamed almond milk.

★★★★★

I love Adagio's rooibos. They are one of my favorite teas. Overall a generally smooth and tasty tea. Note: Because of this tea's small size there is frequently some sediment left in the bottom of my mug from my mesh brewer, but this would be highly variable, based on your brew setup.

★★★★★

Love the the vanilla in it so sweet and enjoyable

★★★★★

I tried this tea as well as a few other types of rooibos. Although, this wasn't the best one, I could drink it over and over again. Great taste, even after a couple steeps.

★★★★★

this is a delicious tea, amber color, taste like good black tea with none of the bitterness or caffeine. An after-dinner favorite with all my family and friends.

★★★★☆

I started drinking the rooibos to get away from caffeine and I found it was tastier than herbal teas. After trying some of the flavored rooibos, I am hooked. Although some of the combinations are a bit strong, so I mix them with the plain rooibos to get the strength I like.

★★★★★

Great! This tea was excellent. I will get it again.

★★★★★

Great as a base for other teas. Personally my favorite tea, usually I mix it with blueberry, acai, or any other types of sweet tangy berries for added flavor.

★★★★☆

I like the this rooibos because it is just pure rooibos. I tried some flavored ones but I like this better.

Incredible. What a wonderful tasting tea. The aroma alone allows you to feel the health benefits you are capitalizing on with each sip. Highly recommend!

The color and smell of this tea in the store peaked my interest so I bought a package. I don't drink it very often, but it does make a very nice cup of caffeine free tea late in the afternoon. It has a natural sweetness to me and a nice red color.

The aroma of the little red leaves is sweet and woody, exactly the way I expect Rooibos to smell! I do not drink it unblended nearly enough, which is tragic because I love the stuff. There are also notes of caramel, a touch of honey, the tiniest hint of pepper and much to my surprise and ending hint of pie crust, which is fun!

The taste is very typical Rooibos, it starts caramel woody sweet and has a dry finish, though I have found that brewing the tea at just under boiling will make it less dry and more sweet, so if you are someone who dislikes that dryness there is a little tip. I love the woody aspects of rooibos, the closest wood I could compare them too is dry reeds, and yes I know what that tastes like, I am a weirdo. Unlike most Rooibos, this one has a tiny hint of smokiness at the finish, making me wonder what a smoke roasted Rooibos is like.

My favorite teat, great by itself or mixed with other teas

★★★★★

I love rooibos tea and adagio's is one of my favorites. Straight from origin and it is tasted in every cup. Great drink in the evening. Very soothing and calming.

Nice after dinner tea. This tea grew on me. It's become one of my favorites.

★★★★★

This is a great rooibos, on par with what I have previously purchased in Australia. The advantage of loose tea is that I can use what I prefer, which makes the same volume last longer, as many bags seems to have more than I need. This gives good flavour without deteriorating if you leave it in to steep longer than you intend.

★★★★★

I really love rooibos, and this one was full-bodied and satisfying.

This rooibos has a rich, nutty flavor and aroma. I bought a large bag and enjoy blending it with other fruit teas or my own dried flowers and fruits.

★★★★★

Quickly has become the favorite late night tea for my girlfriend and I. A fantastic smooth flavor that compliments itself fantastically for continued steepings throughout the night.

This is a great tea for a caffeine-free Kombucha. It is one of the few, if not only, herbal teas that makes good Kombucha. And it has a slight fruity flavor that carries through in the Kombucha.

★★★★★

Hands down the best rooibos on the market! It's the only one worth drinking due to its mellow, smooth flavor.

★★★★☆

Such a great flavor, very distinct. I feel all tea drinkers should give rooibos a try!

★★★★★

Pure, unadulterated rooibos. Sweet, with a rich, deep flavor. Reminds me of my evening tea in Cape Town.

Light and toasty flavor that goes well with cinnamon or cloves or dried fruits.

★★★★★

I love the plain rooibos tea. I love pretty much any rooibos but I have found that this one is a great one to use as a blend with other teas. Often black teas are too bitter for me but if I add some rooibos with it, it seems to cut the bitterness!

Rooibos is one of my favorite teas and very hard to find alone and loose. Online ordering is always scary, but I followed the other reviews and I am glad I did. What a delicious cup of tea! I will be ordering again and again.

★★★★★

A wonderfully smooth tea. A few fine pieces fell out of the strainer but it's fine, it doesn't affect the steeped flavor.

★★★★★

I absolutely love this tea. It is simple and healthy and great for any time of the day. I will happily reorder this tea again.
