Rooibos Customer Reviews

Rooibos, sometimes known as "Red Tea" (although not from the actual tea bush), is an herb that grows only in South Africa. Our rooibos is slightly fruity and smooth with a mild, herbal texture. Very forgiving - won't over-steep.

I love this tea with a little bit of cinnamon added. It's a nice afternoon or early evening tea for me. I feel very reaxed after drinking a couple of cups.

Love the fruity flavour. Has a hint of vanilla. Great for kombucha

★★★★★

A fantastic, earthy tea. I've tried multiple flavored rooibos teas, but I'd never tried plain rooibos. I was not disappointed!
I was a bit put off at first because it smelled like mulch, but it doesn't taste like mulch! It's a nice, mellow taste, and is great for helping me wind down.

Love Rooibos! It may be an acquired taste, but it woks for me. I can't say that it tastes like any tea that I have had. There is a complex mix of flavor a and s subtle kind of sweetness. Many will drink this straight, but I and a little 1 milk to mine - just as I do my black tea. And the no caffeine is a plus as well

Earthy, balanced and with a nice sweet finish. Recommended.

★★★★☆

Nice RED tea with a mild flavor. It's also a recommended weight loss tea.

A nice basic tea. I mostly use it to mellow out the more potent rooibos flavored teas, which can be kind of overpowering on their own.

★★★★☆

A very nice rooibos. You need a very fine basket to brew otherwise you'll have grounds.

I had never had rooibos before and I was not disappointed. Very different from most tea's, woody flavor but also sweet which I was surprised by and I liked it!

★★★★★

Superior tea that was undiscovered! Really like it!

Rooibos is my favorite tea of all time and this blend is naturally sweet although it isn't as nutty as some blends.

★★★★★

Great base line Rooibos... People also say it has a 'medicinal' taste, but I just don't see it. I think it tastes like honey! It's also very healthy for you! Awesome stuff!!!

I love red tea because I can drink it right before bed without worry about even trace amounts of caffeine. This is as good as any loose leaf variety I've ever had. The 16 oz size is a pretty good price, too, in my experience.

I like mine with a little bit of honey, but it doesn't need it.

★★★★★

Rooibos is definitely a favourite, I love the mildness, which is odd being as I love stronger teas. It's usually one I drink when it's time to start calming down for the day, I just bought a larger quantity of it to add to my blends that I make.

★★★★★

like this tea. sometimes its nice to have just rooibos flavor with out other flavors added.

It's my favorite non-caffeinated tea! It has a rich flavor that goes really well with dark chocolate. It's easy to brew too, you can leave it for longer than 5 minutes and it will be delicious anyway.

★★★★★

GREAT everyday tea . . . hot or cold this is a perfect tea, mild or stronger depending on the ratio of tea to water. what makes this tea SO GREAT is that you cannot ruin it!! As a red tea you cannot over brew it and risk a bitter flavor - HUGE for a tea lover like me that tends to lose track of time. I am very sensitive to the bitter taste of even slightly overbrewing creates and tend to stay away from black teas unless I have time to really focus.
Enjoy with a little sweetner but do not use cream until you've tried it first, it has an incredibly nice mouth feel, if you've heard descriptions of a creamy finish or mouth feel but wonder what that means try this tea.
You will not be disappointed . . . And its ORGANIC, YEAH Adagio!!

I didn't care for this tea (which is really not a tea). I gave it to my sister and she loved it. She adds it to her sun tea and says it gives the sun tea a great flavor.

★★★★☆

This tea by itself is good. After trying the vanilla variety, I would recommend getting that instead.

★★★★★

My nightcap with milk, one cup and I,m ready for bed, I just love Rooibos makes great suntea too

Rooibos tea reminds me of when I lived in South Africa and everyone routinely drank rooibos. It's great to be able to get this tea in the US. The color is a rich coppery red-orange--lovely! Red bush tea indeed! The taste is to be acquired but that happens easily, and then you really enjoy rooibos tea. Great anytime, even evenings.

Rooibos was a new style to me when I tried it a while back.. The reported health benefits and 'red bush' rather than true tea leaves intrigued me. It brews a gorgeous medium amber color. The nose is of hay, bark and leather and the taste is warm and unique bringing forth notes of earth, dry hay, and leather. In the craft beer world I could also say it is horse blanket...in a good way .-). If you find yourself a fan of earthy flavors and want a real no caffeine option, I recommend trying this worldly tea.

I use this for iced tea. When I cold brew it's pretty flavorless. When I hot brew it's a little bitter even when I only brew for 5 mins. When I finish this bag I will try the rooibos I bought that is specifically for iced tea.

★★☆☆☆

A very earthy tea, it really didn't impress me much at all drinking it just by itself. It'd surely benefit from a vanilla or fruit accent, however.

★★★★★

This is an earthy blend which I enjoy on occasion. Adagio Quality tea has made me a dedicated Tea drinker.

This is a solid rooibos. I will reorder this tea for sure.

★★★★★

This tea is great, even with nothing added. Red tea is quite sweet on its own. I would even recommend adding other herbal teas to it, such as peppermint, chamomile, or lemon grass. A great way of making this tea is to boil it in a pot with water-I won't explain that here, but it enhances the flavor.

This tea is a good as is (I usually add 1 tsp agave and milk), but it becomes great when you add to it. I like to brew 1 tsp at 212 for 5 minutes, half way through I add 1/2 tsp of black cream tea. After it's poured in my mug I'll add the milk and sweetener and it is AMAZING! Don't be afraid to play with the additions, this tea has so much potential for making your own special brew! As others have said, the tea is fine and tends to escape the infuser.

tastes great, nice and strong, reminds me of my mother land

★★★☆☆

This is a very strong tea. I now mix some of it with a strong black like Irish Breakfast to mellow out the flavor.

★★★☆☆

The tea reminds me of Lipton tea or Mint tea (especially the cool aftertaste). I'm personally not a fan but I could see others liking it.

★★★★★

great tasting naturally caffeine free tea, drink all day long mixed with Chai

★★★★☆

Great rooibos tea, smoother than most other rooibos teas I have tasted!

★★★★★

I love herbal tea blends, but now and again I get the craving for rooibos with no accouterments. It was my introduction to this genre of tea and it will always remain one of my favorites. 5 stars for this product!

It has a pretty mild flavor, but it reminds me of the taste of cough syrup. I probably won't be buying this again.

good tea followed directions on bag great for relaxing

★★★☆☆

Just plain rooibos was a little bit too bitter for me, but it's a lot better when I mix it into something.

★★★★★

This tea was my favorite. I loved the flavor of it.

Love this. My young sons also like it. Very mild taste. Has a natural light sweetness, so we don't use sugar or sweetener of any kind.

I really like rooibos. I usually drink it when I want a hot drink without caffeine. I usually add honey, lemon, and a slice of ginger to the cup. I also like to mix it with honeybush.

★★★☆☆

I liked the flavor of this tea, but it was just alright on the whole. While this is only a problem for the loose leaf tea and not the tea bags, I had a decent amount of leaves leak out of my infusers and had to strain it through a very fine mesh sieve to get it cleared out.

★★★★★

I like the tea. I bought it as a gift for my friends few years ago as a gift. They like it too and now it is a traditional gift.

★★★★☆

The smell reminds me of woodchips, kind of woodsy and sweet. The taste is similar with no bitter aftertaste. It's not one of my favorites but good when I'm in the mood for something different!

★★★★★

Lovely and simple flavor, not too 'fru fru'. Plain Rooibos is pretty much my favorite tea because of both its smell and taste. It reminds me of grass jelly, a very light, almost flavorless but slightly sweet SE Asian dessert, something I enjoyed throughout my childhood. It is very fine and some 'leaks' through my infuser, but it doesn't really bother me because the taste is worth it. I don't do it often, but as a treat, I love it with about 0.5 - 1 tsp of cream or half and half. Bought two pounds so I can get my fix.

★★★★☆

This is a basic rooibos. I like it and drink it everyday.

★★★★★

This is my favorite tea, I drink this all day long and just crave more. I love rooibos tea

★★★★★

I really like this tea for experimenting with other flavors. I can't drink black teas, but I really wanted the flavors they come in, so I add different spices to this plain rooibos and I've come up with some pretty good flavors. I even crushed up a candy cane and steeped it right in the bag with the tea. As with all my rooibos, I don't have a steep time. I bring the water to a boil and throw the bag in and leave it while I drink.

★★★★☆

I ordered this to blend with some of the other teas I've purchased, and it is precisely what it claimed: just a nice rooibos. Perfect for adding a hint of herbal hay-sweetness without any artificial flavorings, and a good way to substitute some of your caffeinated tea for a less potent cup.

★★★★★

Very smooth deep-rich flavor...great for that relaxing evening cup of tea...

Not for me. The smell was like a hay barn. The taste was to 'grassy' for me.
