Cold steeped and iced, with simple syrup and cream, and this blend isn’t too bad. I’m not a fan of Red Rooibos, so it’s saying a lot that I drank this cup and enjoyed it for the most part.
The perfect partner for your morning meal. Sweet, mellow Rooibos herb with a juicy, fresh orange flavor.

You need to love rooibos to enjoy this tea, because the orange flavor takes a back seat. I coaxed it out with some honey on my first steep. On my second steep, I added some Honeybush Vanilla and 2 Tbsp of fresh squeezed orange juice, and that really made the flavor pop. I liked it better as it cooled, though. Perhaps because I'm used to orange as a cold fruit or beverage?
I'll start off by saying that I do like rooibos and I love citrusy flavors. The aroma from the packet was a strong orange scent that was enjoyable. I brewed for 10 @ 212 , to let the flavors come out. I am drinking this hot and the orange flavor is very forward. maybe the extra steeping time helped with that. I did not add anything to the tea. I am cold brewing my second steep to see how that is, since several people recommended it. I enjoyed this tea and would probably order it.
Dry tea smells mostly of orange, which was expected. The resulting cup is a reddish brown with woody orange scent. When hot, the orange notes mix with the woody rooibos, but there is a slight disconnect with the flavors. When the tea cools, the orange flavor becomes more mild, and there is less interference with the rooibos base. I'm generally a fan of red rooibos, but the flavor combinations didn't hit the right note for me. Brewed at 212 for 5 minutes.
Enjoyable enough for a rooibos tea. Definitely taste both orange and rooibos.
Very odd brew, or maybe a strange brew. I'm on the fence about liking it, im going to cold brew it and maybe add some cream and see how that goes. If it rocks my socks off I'll update!
i personally love roobios but i found this tea to be just average. I didn't feel the orange by itself was quite enough as it tasted like a watered down orange with a subtle wood flaver undertone from the roobios. Note I did put a little almond milk and agave as that's how i usually prefer to drink my roobios but this would of been much better with just agave and i would recommend it without any milk.
A mild orange flavored rooibos tea that tastes good either hot or cold.
Meh orange tea by itself is super weird in general mehh
A little too astringent for my taste. Definitely very citrusy! I do struggle with some rooibos being a bit metallic tasting - I had that issue here, but the citrus mostly powers through it.
I am learning what kinds of teas I like and I am definitely a fan of rooibos. This is a juicy punch of orange and it pleases me.
To be fair to this blend, I do not like red rooibos. My husband does and he agreed to sample it. He said there was little orange flavor noted, he found its taste to be more lemony . Not one we'll be keeping in the cupboard
This is a very relaxing tea great for studying and the orange shows up but is not overpowering which is awesome
This is a meh from me. This tea is mostly rooibos in taste. Got that wood dust hay smell going. The hay smell-taste comes in and doesn't play well with the orange if there is any orange to be found
I don't like Red Rooibos that much, so not surprised that this one didn't jump out and grab me. The orange aroma is great, but it is buried behind the rooibos taste. A bit of an earthy, woody orange that just didn't click with me. It's not bad and I would drink it in the evening if I wanted a cuppa something orange w/out caffeine.
I did also try this as a cold steep and it was just OK, so I added some French Vanilla creamer and it really punched it up a lot. It was quite enjoyable then.
Overall, a bigger orange flavor and some vanilla or cream added will really make this pop.
I'm a fan of rooibos because of my need to limit my caffeine. I like the taste of it personally! And it's even better with flavorings. My favorites are Lemon Cloud and Jasmine but I can see a place for Orange in my life. It smells so yummy in the packet. It reminds me of the smell of orange Dole Whip at Disney World (one of my favorite places!). In the cup, the orange is more muted than the smell, but I still think it creates a bright and lovely sip. I added some orange blossom honey and that made it even better! Rich, creamy, desserty: yum! Orange hasn't knocked Lemon Cloud off its throne, but do like this one a lot. Happy Sipping!
Red rooibos is never my favorite. The orange is pretty good though. It is much better iced than hot. However, not my fav.
The orange smell from this tea is intoxicating, but the flavor is just so-so. I like red rooibos so the tea was still fine, but the orange flavor really got lost for me. It was a bit to subtle for my taste.
The orange flavor comes through very well but personally I don’t think it goes well with the red rooibos. I’m not a huge fan of regular rooibos tea though so if you are this would probably be great for you, just not much style.
212 degrees for 5 minutes. The orange flavor in this tea is very subtle, verging on having to imagine it as I drink, which is sad, because I love citrus. Having said that, this rooibos tea isn't bad, but I want more orange, please!
This was not good. Like, at all. I don't really have strong feelings one way or the other toward citrus flavors or rooibos teas but this was just really disappointing. The smell was strongly citrusy and therefore the practically non-existent flavor was a huge letdown, unfortunately. Admittedly, this did taste better once it went cold, but all in all, this was just super underwhelming, at best.
UPDATE 6/8/2021: This is still really underwhelming and so forgettable, in fact, that I didn't even realize I'd already tasted and reviewed this one for the CommuniTEA until I loaded this page up to write my review today. It hasn't changed.
If you're here because you're a fan of red rooibos then you're in the right place, but if you're here to try something orange-flavored, your princess is in another castle.
I like the taste of it, though the smell is quite strong. For an orange flavored tea, I'd prefer it be caffeinated, though.
This tea had probably the best balance I've tasted in a rooibos tea blend. The slightly bitter dryness of the Florida oranges blends perfectly with the natural sweetness of the rooibos tea. Recieved as part of the CommuniTea pack, and I think this will quickly become one of my staple teas to keep in my collection. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good orange tea, or anyone who is a fan of Rooibos teas in general.
This reminds me of another golden orange rooibos tea I bought last year from a tea shop on vacation. It was equally good! I would buy more in the future. UPDATE: This is another tea I have not bought since this review, but I am indulging on today's Communitea today! It does taste exactly how I remember it.
Received in my communitea pack. Rooibos and I are not friends. Each time I make it, it smells like a bag of mulch, immediately putting me off. This at least had a side of citrus, but still a no-go for me.
Orange rooibos tea was most enjoyable for me, hot off the steep with the orange flavor at its peak and the rooibos flavor at its mellowest. It was a good sip of two perfectly balanced flavors at that temperature. As the tea cooled the woody rooibos taste asserted itself more. For those who like this woodsey flavor the benefits are worth waiting for as the temperature cools.
I found a bit of honey helped to perk up the citrus taste. I chilled a sweetened portion and tried the chilled version after a few hours and then again the next day. The two sips were different in flavor. The few hour chilled version was more rooibos heavy in taste with the citrus flavor just a whisper while the overnight version was more balanced. The rooibos flavor had mellowed enough to match the more subdued citrus flavor and would be a pleasant iced tea.
For my 8 oz. resteep, I tried adding a few Adagio orange peels. The added citrus made all the difference and I enjoyed this steep more. The rooibos flavor was now mellowed and with an extra citrus add, the tea had an orange flavor that stayed put throughout temperature changes and covered the wody rooibos flavor well.
My CT packet had 4 g/ 2 tsp of orange scented tea that made an orange red liquor. I brewed at 212F for 5 minutes for both steeps. I feel this tea would be a good one to blend with other tea flavors - maybe a vanilla tea, cream tea or a citrus flavored tea. If this orange rooibos had more orange flavor with staying power I would rate it 5 stars.
Very strong and pleasant orange scent emanating from the packet. Steeped the tea for 5 mins@180°. A light bodied cup of tea,the rooibos combined with the orange for a nicely balanced earthy orange flavor. There was no bitterness , it was pleasant hot and even better cold. Nice refreshing cup of tea.
To be fair, I am not a fan of red rooibos. The flavor of this blend is not toned down or masked by the orange. If you love red rooibos and orange, you will love this tea. I prefer red rooibos when it is buried and hidden by multiple flavors, the orange brings the rooibos flavor up front and center. Happy sipping!
The rooibos orange is so not my jam. It's two flavors that I dislike.
Nice light orange flavor and brews up to a pretty orangish color. It is very smooth and not bitter.
This is definitely a red rooibos. The taste is a bit polarizing...tea drinkers either love the flavor or they don't. Luckily, I like it! The aroma on opening the packet was definitely orange...brewed 5 minutes at 212F. The rooibos taste blends nicely with the orange, but I do wish the orange had come through a bit stronger. Rooibos was definitely up front for me with the orange in the background. Hard to overpower rooibos though...so understandable. On second steep I put in some Blood Orange and that evened out the flavors. I think if I had stopped the steep at 4 minutes maybe the orange would have been more even with the rooibos flavors. All in all, a nice cup of tea for times when caffeine is not needed/wanted.
Rooibos orange, doo doo do doo do do
Rooibos orange, doo doo do doo do do
Rooibos orange, doo doo do doo do do
Juicy and sweet!
Some run away, doo doo do doo do do
Run away, doo doo do doo do do
Run away, doo doo do doo do do
At the mention of rooiboos
But I'll drink you, doo doo do doo do do
I'll drink you, doo doo do doo do do
I'll drink you, doo doo do doo do do
Yummy yummy!
(Is this song stuck in your head now, review?)
The orange is delightful, but red roobios has a very distinctive flavor and they don't play well to me.
Not my jam this CommuniTea packet. I don't like red rooibos nor strong orange flavors. May be good for those who do like these flavors.
I loved the bright orange smell of this tea unbrewed. When steeped for 5 minutes, it's mostly the normal sawdust-like flavor rooibos has but with an aftertaste of orange. I would like this better with more flavoring. I think in a blend with some Blood Orange, this would be wonderful. If you really like rooibos, this is a good one to try.
I love Adagio's gentle rooibos blends and this orange one is super pleasant if you want a decaf tea that's got a little oomph to it.
Pretty good! I generally don't like rooibos tea, but tried this because it was on sale. The orange is subtle. It almost tastes like cinnamon oil, strangely. In the bag, smells like orange more than peel, like some others do. Once brewed, just smells like rooibos. But tastes slightly spicy and slightly orange, like a candy for some reason, and a little sweet. I like it!
Great flavorful tea. Very relaxing to drink on a quiet morning
Another favorite of mine. There is something about Rooibos combined with orange that I just can't resist ! This is a tea I will always keep in stock, good hot or iced.
If you like orange flavor, this is excellent. It is very orangey!
My tea arrived today. It is possible that I went a little overboard. So as I poured the packets into my own tins, I tried to decide which to try first. When I opened the Rooibos Orange, the smell was so lovely that I decided that was the one, and that I needed to make some tea right now. As I added the hot water, the sent became more richer. I tried it both without honey and with. It great both ways and I'm not even sure which I like better.
The flavor is full and round, but not overwhelming.
Also nice at room temperature or cold.
The orange notes in this tea couple beautifully with the rooibos!
Very very citrus forward. I really don't taste the roobios just orange.
I am trying Rooibos teas for the first time (flavoured) and this has got that orange zing to it but with a hint of sweetness.
This is a great rooibos option. The Orange flavor is subtle, so if you're looking for a strong orange taste, this isn't the tea for you. The rooibos' natural flavor shines but, thanks to the hint of orange, is not boring.
I love the orange flavor. This tea tastes great with a little milk and honey too.
Delicious with Rooibos Vanilla. Together they taste like a dreamsicle. Just the right sweetness.
I personally didn't like this one that much. I thought the orange was a little overpowering, and it tasted a little artificial to me.
This was fantastic I loved it, great balance of orange and slight smokiness of the Rooibos. I enjoyed it hot with a bit of cinnamon and iced with a orange wedge. really refreshing.
Rooibos isn’t my favorite, but the orange flavor in this one was pretty good.
