This is a very flavorful brew. I enjoyed the great orange flavor.

A rather one-note tea with mild orange notes. The orange flavor is a bit artificial for me.

This is not a tea I would like to drink everyday. I can taste the orange, but I'm not impressed.

not tasting as much orange as I would like against the rooibos.

I love orange and rooibos! The recommended brewing time left it a little strong for me. I added a little honey, cooled, and divided it into two classes before adding a little sparkling water. Presto! Happiness!

★★☆☆☆

Too much tobacco taste for me. I do get some Orange Crush soda but not enough to balance out the red rooibos. Probably good if you like the red rooibos.

I love the orange flavor and aroma in this. It's a decent tea, I just think it's pretty boring.

★★★★★

This has a nice orange flavor overlying the woodiness of the rooibos making a pleasant cup of tea.

This tea smells amazing, but the orange is a bit drowned out by the strong rooibos.

not a rooibos girl, but i liked the orange and it wasn't artificial tasting to me. had this as a calming bedtime tea and it did the trick.

In the bag: Mostly just finely chopped rooibos. But also three medium-sized pieces of orange rind.

On the nose (pre-steep): Zesty orange with a touch of sugar behind it. Others have mentioned creamsicle – an apt comparison.

On the nose (post-steep): Orange has reduced to an accent. The main aroma now is the soft wood of rooibos. No more sugar.

On the tongue (pre-sweetener): Pretty much just rooibos. Perhaps a bare hint of orange, but I'm not sure I would have noticed if I weren't looking for it.

On the tongue (post-sweetener): Orange has gotten a small bump, but it's still the secondary flavor.

Opinion: A pleasant tea, but it didn't live up to its namesake. The orange was bright and clear on the nose, but didn't make it to the tongue. And I think the flavor could have been great if it had.

Preparation: First steep 5 min, second steep
10 min. Both @ 212 ℉. ½ teaspoon monk fruit sweetener.

A nice natural sweetness to the rooibos with nutty overtones, the orange was present enough to give this tisane a nice citrussy feel

The scent from the packet was teetering on the artificial/floor-cleaner type of orange, but thankfully the steeped tea did not have this quality at all. It was a nice, cosy orange flavour that worked well with the woodiness of the rooibos.

Tea doesn't smell or taste like rooibos tea but has very strong taste and smell or rotten mandarins. Awful tea.

★★★☆☆

When opening the bag, the smell was a very strong and citrusy orange smell that made me excited. However, after steeping for 5-10 minutes, the strength wasn't as strong, and it reminded me of soap.

A balanced blend of sweet and citrus. I haven't tried it iced, but it would make a good summer cooler.

★★★★☆

The orange really popped in this and made it have such a bright, full mouth feeling with the more earthy, lower taste of the roiboos. They work incredibly well together.

I like this hot and mixed with the chocolate rooibos and a tiny piece of chocolate orange to sweeten it.

I drink this when I want to hydrate. I drink this by the liter, not the cup. It tastes like harmony and purpose. My kids take it to school in their lunch. No sweetener required.

Love this tea! It is warm and comforting. I really like to add a little bit of cinnamon to it with some honey. Perfect for winter

Rooibos sometimes seems too heavy and earthy for me. This orange flavor brightens things up a bit. It isn’t an overly strong orange flavor. It is just right.

Rooibos Orange elevates the taste of the rooibos (no caffeine) tea to a phenomenal level. Sometimes I brew it alone and other times I mix it with the plain rooibos. I no longer drink perrier after one but I love a pot of relaxing tea.

First, I am not really a fan of Rooibos; however, thanks to the suggestion of another CT member, I have learned that straight (and flavored) rooibos is really good as an iced tea if it is first hot brewed with water as close to boiling as possible, and with a steep time of no less than 20 minutes. It smooths out the flavor, pushes the medicinal back and brings out the sweetness. This is one, along with rooibos lemon cloud that I will keep in my stash for caffeine free enjoyment.

This tea is a really good iced tea for the summer.

This is a nice lively tea. The natural orange flavor pairs well with the rooibos and it’s good sweetened or unsweetened. I like just a drop of heavy cream for a little extra indulgence.

I love rooibos but 'orange' teas are never really my jam. I'm not sure how to make this...more my jam. I tried mixing some vanilla rooibos I have and that didn't work either.

I love orange flavored teas so I had to give this a try. The aroma was lovely but I have come to realize that I'm not a big rooibos fan. I drank it hot and didn't appreciate to woodsy taste. I tried to add sugar but that didn't help. I will try again drinking it cold.

★★★★☆

Good tea, but the orange flavor seems to be missing something.

This is a very good rooibos with a nice orange flavor. I've really learned to appreciate rooibos tea and being decaf is a nice plus!

Interestingly, this is one of those teas that gets better on the second steep. The aroma of the dry leaves makes me think of Zicam, but fortunately, once steeped, the orange in the tea is not nearly that artificial tasting. On the smooth base of rooibos, the orange at first seems bitter, but is easily sweetened with a touch of honey. It's enjoyable, but the orange comes through more as an aromatic sensation rather than on the palate. Rooibos is the predominant flavor on the tongue (but I don't mind that). On a second steep, the rooibos notes are more subdued, so the orange comes through more definitively. Although the rooibos adds some woodsy depth, this tea is still rather Johnny-one-note. It's good, but a little boring. (5+ minutes @ 212F)

This is a great tea for a rooibos lover. The rooibos flavor is quite strong and the orange complements it nicely.

Great use of rooibos! Lightly woodsy, with not too sweet citrus aftertone. Good hot, ok lukewarm, good iced.

CommuniTEA 6/18/22: a tea I've had before and enjoyed, though it could do with more orange flavor.

This is a smooth sipping tea that is not sweet. There is a hint of orange in the background but I wouldn’t have minded more. If I had a sample size, I would experiment around by adding some orange peel and see how it tastes, but I’ve just got the single packet. I brewed mine at 212 for 4 minutes. I didn’t taste any bitterness at all.

Red Rooibos is a polarizing ingredient, but I happen to like it! The orange flavor compliments the woodsy rooibos without overpowering. I added a few drops of agave to sweeten.

Full-bodied and makes me forget that there is no caffeine involved. I was worried the orange flavor would be overwhelming but very mellow.

UPDATE 6/18/2022 - My prior review is very similar to my tasting experience today. I would prefer this tea to have a better blending between the orange and rooibos flavor. Also, I feel like the orange is more like flavored OJ and not fresh. (212F for 5min)

6/8/2021 - I tried this from communiTEA. I first tried this hot and it seemed to a weird slightly orange taste and rooibos. The flavors didn't blend but instead were competing. I tried cooling the tea and it was the same flavor profile as when hot. I like rooibos so i liked the tea, but I did't think it was amazing and it was a slightly strange orange flavor the more I sipped it.

I just love today's tea of the day. The rooibos orange has a mild citrus-orange smooth and very slightly zesty taste. I used honey (always do) for rooibos, to get the wet sock taste away. Lol Once I get to sweeten up the orange rooibos, it's wonderful. I never liked rooibos at first, ( years ago ) but I experimented with the tea and got it right for my liking. I used 1 half tsp of sweetener and some honey.

I am excited to finally find a rooibos tea blend that I enjoy! The description fits this tea perfectly. The orange citrus flavor is the dominant flavor and it makes the red rooibos tea more subtle than usual. I drank this cup so fast I wish I had more so into my basket it goes.

I love rooibos, and I love orange—this is the tea that I was MOST looking forward to, all week, in my communiTEA box.

I wasn’t quite sure if I’d brew this one hot or cold until I woke up to 95°F weather, and then the choice was obvious. So, I let it cold brew while I was eating my breakfast.

Unfortunately, there was only one measly scrap of orange in the entire packet, which may explain why the flavor was barely detectable amongst the strong, already-somewhat-citrusy natural flavor of rooibos. Which means it still tasted delicious, but I know in my heart that it could have been more delicious, with more orange flavor and maybe a bit of something more could emphasize it… like currants and a bit of cinnamon. Note to self, experiment with that blend.

All things said, though, I chose to enjoy my delicious cup of not-very-orange rooibos with a lightly-orange-scented baked bun and I am a very happy Kat. (Though if it weren’t obvious, I’d be even happier if the orange were significantly more present in this tea.)

Today's CommuniTEA is Rooibos Orange (6-18-22). Upon opening my packet, it was full of red rooibos so I assume the orange flavor is infused into the tea. I brewed it hot with some orange peels and sourwood honey. It is absolutely delicious! I love it so much! It is perfectly orangey, perfectly sweet, and has that little 'nip' from the rooibos. I would highly recommend this tea!

Rooibos Orange

Recommended Steep: 5 minutes @212°F

I steeped for 5 minutes @ the recommended temperature, in approximately 11 oz of water with 1 tsp of rock/tea sugar.

I have to admit that I wasn’t sure what to expect from this tea. I have a rather ambivalent relationship with Rooibos. I tend to like it in blends, but not solo, or as the star attraction. I really like it in lattes. I couldn’t quite imagine how it would taste with orange.

Upon opening a very strong, very citrus-y aroma became quite apparent. It almost smelled like tangerines. I like tangerines, so, promising. Once I started steeping the Rooibos aroma dominated. It also dominated the flavor profile, in my opinion, although there was a light orange flavor in the background. The tea tasted smooth, though I would have like to have a little more of the orange present. Still it was a very pleasant cup that I would not mind sipping again. 4 stars from me.

I think this might be the first red rooibos tea that I have really liked. The orange flavor was really enhanced by some raw honey (about a teaspoon). I steeped for 5 minutes at 200 degrees.
