Honeybush Customer Reviews

Honeybush is a sibling of Rooibos, cultivated in South Africa's Eastern Cape region. Its flowers smell of honey, earning this plant a sweet name. Our honeybush is sweet, gently roasted and fuller-bodied than rooibos. Clean and refreshing.

I love all of the flavored honeybush teas, so I thought I d give the plain honeybush a try. I love it! it seems to get better as it cools. Loving this warm cup of honey flavor!

If you are familiar with rooibos you already have an idea what this tea is about. An idea, but not the full picture. Expect a lighter, sweeter tea. I really am torn between honeybush and rooibos as my go-to herbal tea.

This is good alone and serves as a good base day or night when trying my own blends.

Really great flavor, truly doesn't need anything added. Floral, sweet, well-rounded. Everyone I've given it to has said the same thing, that it somehow tastes homey. Will purchase again.

I am new to this type of tea and I do enjoy it. It’s a bit earthy and is good with some honey.

Definitely a good alternative for people who aren't a fan of rooibos! It has a flavor like a sweeter, much lighter black tea, and would be a great base for herbal blends!

Very sweet, easy to brew, and great for when you want a hot drink without caffeine.

This is my new go-to for an afternoon seeet craving. And I can reuse the leaves for an additional cup without compromising flavor.

Love this tea. Great mild flavor. My daughter makes it in the ingenuiTEA, then I use the same tea leaves and make some for myself and it's still very good the second time around

A definite wood like flavor. I love the smell, I love the color of the liquor, but the flavor is a tad too subtle to get 5 stars. A solid 4, perhaps a 4 and a half!

This has become my morning staple. It's very forgiving of being over steeped and doesn't become bitter.

I mix it with Green Rooibos Bonita. A nice smooth cup of tea. My favorite.

Nice and smooth. Less distinct flavor than rooibos but still fantastic for a non-caffeinated option in the evening. Only thing is that the loose leaf tends to escape through the tea strainer, so tea bags are more ideal for this type of very fine tea.

It's a great traditional tea. The taste and smell is great, nice, and subtle. I would add a little honey to make it sweeter and flavorful.

This is a great tea for relaxing in the evening. It has a natural sweetness that makes it a bit of a 'pick me up', but being caffeine free, it won't keep you up at night. Being a relative of rooibos, it does have some similar aspects to its flavor, but it doesn't have quite as much of the 'tobacco' aspects that can often come through in rooibos. I think this would be an excellent starter tea for those who want to get into rooibos but aren't quite ready for its distinct earthiness.

Maybe I received a bad batch, but when I opened this tea, I smelled nothing and that sadly translated to my tasting experience

I bought this along with the plain Rooibos, and I like this much better. This one doesn't have a tobacco smell or flavor to it. Very smooth flavor, can't wait to try the other styles.

Full confession: rooibos is not my particular favorite type of tea. It tends to be too woody for my taste, and even in a blend can overwhelm and ruin it for me. That said, though honeybush is related to rooibos, and smells quite woody in the cup, I like it much better. Fuller flavor, sweeter smell and finish, less astringent, and an all around better cup of tea. It would be nice with milk, or even a dollop of honey, but I like it black.

Honeybush has a pleasing, woody and slightly sweet taste. It is a nice, simple herbal that seems like it would flavor very well. Looking forward to ordering Honeybush Chocolate with my next order.

This was my first time trying honeybush tea, and I think it's just not for me. There was an off flavor that I didn't care for. It is much better with a little sweetener though, so maybe I should give Honeybush Chocolate a try.

Smoother and more full-bodied than Rooibos, its aroma (and to a lesser extent, its taste) is more herbaceous, and -- surprise! -- honeyed, than its brother. Honeybush has more deeply earthy tones, plus floral notes that mingle nicely with the previously mentioned traits.

A lovely cold climate, evening relaxation, or under the weather cup, but I think I d have to give Rooibos the edge if considering which makes for a better day-to-day drink -- Honeybush is just more reminiscent of some sort of rustic herbal remedy, which, while cozy, doesn t seem as appealing for everyday consumption.

Good tea as a base. I like to experiment and blend other types of teas with it. I like jasmine pearls and honeybush.

Honeybush is a super yummy tea, I bought it because one of my rooibos blends had it and I figured I'd like it alone. It's a good tea but not my favorite.

I prefer the taste of Honeybush over Rooibus. I'm not sold on either, but Honeybush has a bit sweeter taste.

So glad I tried this tea...it is like luxury in a cup...so silky smooth and as you sip, the honey smell and the honeybush flavor just overtake your senses. I find this tea so calming and while I love rooibos, this has surpassed that love :)

This is currently my go-to afternoon tea. I was expecting something more similar to rooibos, but this doesn’t take to milk as well (a South African friend once told me they take their rooibos with milk). It brews lighter than I’d like, but I still like it.

Very similar to its cousin rooibos, Honeybush lives up to its name, with a slightly more honey and earthy flavor. It is a favorite staple in my house!

Honey Bush is such a pleasant surprise. It’s like rooibos, but with a fuller body, more floral notes, and has an aftertaste that reminds me of my favorite mineral water, San Pellegrino.

I think I like this a little more than Rooibos tea. It's sweeter and more floral that it's earthy cousin. They're both great though.

This is an excellent tea with lots of body and oomph. It is the most like a classic black tea of any herbal tea I've tried. Sometimes herbal teas can feel rather thin, but this one doesn't. A sturdy daily drinker tea.
